Philippians 4 is one of the most quoted passages about anxiety and peace.
“Do not be anxious…”“Think on what is true…”“And the peace of God will guard your heart and mind.”
But what happens when you love God, you pray, you try to sit still and think on what is lovely, and your body still feels restless?
In this episode, I share part of my own journey of trying to live out this passage while carrying unresolved trauma and a dysregulated nervous system. Together we explore the difference between cognitive control and relational safety, how the Bible’s understanding of “heart and mind” is more embodied than we often assume, and why secure attachment and co-regulation matter spiritually and physiologically.
This isn’t about dismissing Scripture. It’s about slowing down and understanding it more fully.
If you’ve ever wondered why peace felt harder to access than the verse made it sound, this conversation is for you.
Healing doesn’t replace faith; it often deepens it.
