In this episode of 'One Eye on the Horizon,' Tom shares his personal journey through a long battle with a corneal disease called keratoconus, corneal transplants, various complications along the way, and the ultimate loss of vision on in one of his eyes. We discuss the challenges and insights gained from his experiences.
He emphasises the importance of conducting personal research and advocating for yourself with doctors, while also highlighting the emotional and financial aspects of dealing with partial sight loss. And he tells us all about who Disco Pirate is and how he has helped with the healing journey.
I personally loved the way he had such a logical, scientific approach to explaining and understanding everything that he had going on. And I felt inspired by his positive outlook on accepting his new "norm"
