1. பஞ்சுக்கு இறக்குமதி வரி ரத்து கிடையாது - மத்திய அமைச்சரின் அறிவிப்பால் ஜவுளி தொழில்துறையினர் அதிர்ச்சி. இறக்குமதி வரி 11 சதவீதத்தை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும் என நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள தொழில் அமைப்பினர் கோரிக்கை விடுத்து வந்தனர். இந்நிலையில், மத்திய அமைச்சர் பியூஷ் கோயல் இறக்குமதி வரியை ரத்து செய்ய முடியாது என அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

2. A software engineer from Pune managed to grow saffron in in shipping containers with an investment of Rs 10 lakhs, which now earns him around Rs 2-3 lakhs a month. He grew the spice using Aeroponic technology which involves growing plants without the use of soil. It relies on air to deliver a nutrient-rich mist to the plant’s roots.

3. இடுக்கியில் விவசாயி ஒருவர் தான் உற்பத்தி செய்த ஏலக்காய்களுக்கு உரிய விலை கிடைக்காததால் தனது ஏலக்காய் செடிகளை அழித்த சம்பவம் பலரை அதிர்ச்சி அடைய செய்துள்ளது.

4. India sets target of 205 lakh tonnes of Nutri-cereals production for the year 2022-23. For increasing the production of Nutri-cereals under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) programme, the NFSM-Nutri Cereals is being implemented in 212 districts of 14 states.

5. NASA Exploring Tomato Production on the International Space Station. The study, NASA’s VEG-05 experiment, is designed to provide healthy and nutritious diets for astronauts on long-duration exploration missions.

6. Bangladesh has offered over $40 a tonne more to Indian cooperatives to import 2.5 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice in a government-to-government deal compared with prices quoted by the private trade in a global import tender.

7. A small working group would be formed to promote export of bananas, especially the traditional varieties and value added products of the fruit, said M. Angamuthu, Chairman, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

8. European market has good demand for okra from India. The demand for Indian okra has started to increase, as the winter season starts in European markets.

9. USA warns Mexico on banning Genetically Modified corn imports. Currently Mexico is the second-largest importer of corn in the world after China, and much of the corn it buys comes from the United States.
