It sounds counter-intuitive, but when it comes to getting advice in the early stages of separation, it's best to take advice from family and friends with a skeptical ear.   You see, they are all on your side, and they want to make you feel better.   That means sometimes they hold back what they really think...and that's not good, as we hear from Family Mediator Jamie West and Lawyer Tracy Miller....

Description

The place to find helpful information about better ways to resolve your divorce, separation, or parenting time matters without the high conflict that creates more stress for your children and ruins your emotional and financial well-being. This show features expert guests from Family Law, Child Welfare, Therapeutic Services, Law Enforcement, Finance, Social Science, and Health and Fitness. Divorce Solutions is hosted and produced by Jamie West, a communications professional and survivor of the Family Law system in Ontario, Canada. He is a father of three and is the Principal of Westpro Mediation and Consulting, a practice dedicated to Family Mediation and Counselling, leading to successful approaches and outcomes in otherwise high-conflict family law matters. Jamie knows the ins and outs of the Family Law system, having been dragged through it for 10 years and coming out on top.  He shares his lived experience in this important and informative podcast.    His co-host is Tracy Miller, a family law practitioner with over 30 years of experience in all facets of family law in Canada. She focuses most of her practice on alternative dispute resolution methods and is highly respected among her colleagues and the judiciary.
