1:00 - Why do you read tarot?   

This is the most important question to ask yourself before picking up a tarot deck. For me, I do it because it gives people a safe space to feel seen and heard and get unbiased advice through the cards. So often, conversations are just two people talking over each other - but the practice of tarot forces you to slow down and give the person you are reading your undivided attention and emotional energy. This can be a very powerful thing!    

3:20 - Who can read tarot?   ANYONE! You do not need to be a witch or a psychic to pick up a tarot deck. Tarot began as a card game and has since grown into a way to advice others. There is no reason to gate keep. I have heard people say that you can not get a tarot deck unless someone else gifts it to you which is false! Do what makes you happy - including tarot.   

6:40 - How to read tarot?   First, you must find a tarot deck that comes with an instruction book. This book will help you understand that cards as you begin to learn. My first and favorite deck (https://amzn.to/3fcJqKa) came with a booklet that taught me the meaning of the cards along with their reversals. Not everyone reads reversals but it is nice to have that information, in case you do. Make sure you do not get a collectors tarot deck that does not have all of the cards. The deck you get should say '78 tarot cards + book'  

12:53 - Major Arcana  These are the cards that have a higher, divine meaning. They will not have a number or suit before them.  

13:10 - Minor Arcana  These cards represent the factors that the person can control. They will have a number or suit in front of them.  

- Cups = Water Signs. Emotions. Relations.  

- Swords = Air Signs. Intellect. Communication. Battle.  

- Wands = Fire Signs. Passion. Energy.

- Pentacles = Earth Signs. Material Possessions. School. Career.  

Most importantly, as a tarot reader it is your job to translate the cards and tell a story then allow space for the person to decide what makes sense for them. It is not your job to predict or change the future.   One trick I like to do is give the person a symbol to look for according to what is on the cards as a way to give them further confirmation this message is for them.
