How Parenting Triggers Past Trauma?

I get triggered every time my child doesn’t listen to me. Why do I get SO triggered when I’m not heard? Is it because I’m overwhelmed with my parental responsibilities? Or does it go deeper than that? Do my triggers flow from the past- from a time

I get triggered every time my child doesn’t listen to me. Why do I get SO triggered when I’m not heard? Is it because I’m overwhelmed with my parental responsibilities? Or does it go deeper than that? Do my triggers flow from the past- from a time when I wasn’t heard by my parents?
In the 24th episode, hosts Dr Meghna and Devishobha discuss how our childhood and how we were raised can continue to impact us and how we choose to parent our kids.
The hosts discuss how to utilise our triggers in cultivating self-awareness about our past and go on to heal ourselves. Through real-life therapy examples, the hosts discuss how to recognise that we’re triggered and how to then work to stay in the present.
The hosts share everyday practices to avoid the tripwire: acronymed CONS
C= Practising self-compassion and empathy
O=Imaging and practicing a different outcome
N= Fulfilling unmet needs
S= Seeking support
