Description

Welcome to Guitar Villains! I'm your host, Tyler Larson. Why Guitar Villains? Because villains are cooler than heroes, it’s just a fact. This is a podcast by guitar players for guitar players and over the course of this series we’ll talk to some of the most creative and innovative minds in the community about how they’ve achieved the things they have on the instrument and how you can become a better player yourself.

Inspired so much within me

Im fairly new to the guitar and I’ve been struggling with a lot of things while playing. Normally watching an hour long podcast is usually a pain for me, but I really loved the Petrucci and the Tim Henson podcast. I learnt something very useful from the Tim Henson one and that is the ultimate goal is being a good musician and the guitar is just a tool to get you there. Learning the guitar with that approach made me a much better musician over recent times. It made me understand that mindless fast shredding or insane riffs isn’t the end goal, but creating something so articulate and beautiful that inspires something within is what a guitarist needs. Thank you Tyler for this amazing opportunity.
