Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper), a renowned two-star Michelin chef lets down one of the premiere restaurant in Paris owned by his mentor Jean-Luc because of his drug addiction and outrageous behaviour. He disappears and sentences himself to shuck one million oysters at a bar in New Orleans. Three years later, he decides to reform and gain his third Michelin star. He moves to London and meets Tony, Jean-Luc's former head waiter and now owning his father's restaurant. When Adam proposes to take over Tony's restaurant, Tony disagrees as he has lost the trust on Adam. He develops soft-corner for Helen, who works as the sous-chef at his friend Conti's restaurant. Tony makes Adam as the head chef of the restaurant when Critic Simone gives a favourable review for Adam's preparation. Adam manages to re-establish his restaurant, Langham and publicises through talk shows. His former drug dealers and his rivalries hinder Adam's way to acquire the third Michelin star. Finally, the day comes when Michelin reviewers visit his restaurant but his past dirty deeds take a chance to put him down.
