Andie is a young orphan trying to figure out where she fits in life. The only thing she loves is dancing with her street crew, the 410, who are the most notorious of the street crews in Baltimore. Her friend, the street-famous dancer, Tyler Gage, convinces her to audition for entry into the prestigious Maryland School of the Arts, an institution that turned his own life around. Andie passes the audition but is not sure she belongs there. The school's director is not sure she belongs there either. The school has a lot to teach Andie, and she has a lot to teach it.
