I m iOS user , and almost last one year using hdfc app , when I m trying to transfer money using NEFT way , (tried with 5 different bank also ) always giving same error ie: invalid IFSC code (beneficiary) , even I delete beneficiary and added again but still issue persist, and I also tried to uninstall and reinstall app as well but lo luck
Due to this issue only IMPS working and each and every transaction they are charging 5.90 rs
If beneficiary’s IFSC code is not valid then how I m able to add beneficiary

The app needs to be reconfigured to work on home WiFi network as well. I tried accessing the app on my home network but got an error message which indicated I’m in a low network area 🤔 (150MB connection). I switched to mobile data and could connect via 4G. This is a problem for me (possibly other customers too), as I use only WiFi when home. It would be helpful if you could fix this for use on phones, else I’ll have to delete the App and work off browsers (hoping there won’t be a WiFi issue there too).

If you have multiple CRNs, in the previous version you could use FaceID/ biometrics to login on the main one, but had to use a password for the other. (In Kotak for example you can have faceID as login for different CRNs). In the latest version it doesn’t show any option to login with another CRN. This is making a bad situation worse…

I have been using hdfc mobile banking app since more than 4 years. It works with Face ID and pin effortlessly. All features and facilities like FD , RD etc are available and I have used to deposit. Works instantly and flawlessly. I am maintaining a good balance and never faced any issue, in fact I am using other bank apps as well, but I found this one as most convenient navigation and use friendly GUI. I don’t know why so many negative reviews are there but I am very happy with hdfc. I would suggest users who may be facing minor issues like Face ID etc, please delete and re-register your app.

I tried to upgrade my debit card through this app. First time when I submitted the request the app closed unfortunately and I dint get any acknowledgment. Second time when I tried to submit, I got the popup as submitted successfully. But no text message or email acknowledgment, however now the problem is the system has taken both my request and forwarded which resulted in two new debit card issued for the same account. If a popup error message stating as “Already debit card upgrade request submitted and in process please wait” would have avoided this type of scenario. Hope this review reaches the correct team to look into this matter.

Recently moved to HDFC., and happy with overall net banking and app experience. Being long term user of Citi and ICICI, I see majority of the features are at par, some ahead too. However I didn’t like one thing is , the moment you login to the app it displays full balance, which should have been avoided or at least customizable for user.(refer second screenshot of the app where balance is displayed)
I haven’t seen such gap i any other banking app. Either there is an option in the summary/landing page to show the balance else it never shows until it navigate. It is a 5 star from me once it is fixed

I’m using hdfc bank for more than 5 years I’m recently getting more no of calls for getting credit card loan and other loans even after attending 15 calls per day I’m tired of saying don’t wish to get loans I use to get daily around 5 calls from different agents also I told them to mention in their database that I’m interested anymore still getting finally calls stopped later I’m getting calls from other banks I asked them how did u got my number they said they got it from HDFC bank which is such horrible one I never expected tis statement and also I mailed to support@hdfcbank

It is permissible to open fixed deposit in joint names through this app, but it is not permissible to close fixed deposit in joint names prematurely through this app and not even through online banking and all the joint account holders are required to visit HDFC Bank branch for this purpose. In case any one account holder is critically ill and hospitalised in CCU or ICU and money is urgently required for paying the medical bills of the hospital, how can the money be withdrawn prematurely? This is a harassment by HDFC Bank, which is is not being done by any other bank. This is an extremely discouraging problem for opening fixed deposits in HDFC Bank.

This hdfc mobile banking app is a below a average aap in comparison with Citibank app. HDFC app lacks big time on security features like card lock and unlock facilities i.e one can unlock the card only when the transaction is made and keep it locked and secured other times, limiting online, point of sale and ATM transactions to certain amount etc. All these features aren’t available but Citibank app has it. I had my own hdfc credit card hacked and cheated for 2 lac rupees and I could do nothing proactively. The app developer should think about this seriously and develop some security features. Just being number one private bank is not enough if you are not giving priority to security in this cyber fraud times.

I was using the app from many years but never faced such issue. Now whenever i opens the app after 24-48 hrs the app shows you have been de-registered from this device so you have to register again. And while registering again it shows that you are already registered on some other device. So do you wanna de-register from old device. I dont understand what the hell is this every time before going to open app i have to do the same registeration process of 4-5 mints. And then only able to use the features. And even my credit card is not showing in the app as it says i dont have any credit card instead i am using Dinners card of HDFC. Totally disappointed with this. The app is one of the most buggiest banking apps I’ve come across. From auto-resetting passwords, auto logging off, to terrible UI decisions, it’s designed to make customer’s life difficult. Despite it, I’ve been managing to use it somehow and usually when I open the app, I’m asking for the password with my customer ID already keyed in.
Today, I opened the app and it asked me to accept T&C. I scrolled down and then pressed the tick to accept terms, yet it kept asking me to accept terms first which didn’t make sense. In the end, I found a hyperlink within the terms which needs to be clicked to visit a website with another set of terms and conditions, return back to the app and then tick the terms for it to work. This is a prime example of how NOT to build UI. This is designed to make customer’s life difficult ag every step.
On accepting terms, it is asking me to register my device for extra security. I keyed in my customer ID and phone number and I’m presented with some error to visit my profile page and select login methods—except I’m currently in logged out state so I cannot visit this profile page. So now, no matter what I do, I cannot login. It’s just a garbage app. Hope the reverted back to the previous version which atleast worked.

Keeps failing to login. Don’t use for payments. This app is slow. May be because it tries to load the web pages directly from the web. Login fails exactly when u need to do an urgent payment. It complains “session not ended properly” The help and support page is a joke. UPI options are buried deep inside. Does not give notification when there is a payment request. You have to touch the screen even after signed up for touchid. MMID Payment options are displayed but the customer care mentioned the it is not supported. Does not show the limits when choosing payment mode.

I am using this hdfc for almost 5yrs .. there is a option minimum account balance maintain .. if not they charge penalty of 450 to 500 for rural which attracts on quarterly basis.. how come this rule I don’t understand .. beacuce what is the problem if we maintain.. bank provide service and they earn money out of it . They ask customers to open account .. for all middle class this issue is there .. we earn money .. even 100 rs going from bank very bad .. There are way too many improvements needed to ease the app experience. The only thing that’s usable in the app is checking balance and statement. Otherwise Features like setting a new pin to your debit card/credit card, the UI is not very smooth it’s kinda robotic UI. Mainly and majorly when we open the app once and close it and try to open it again within a minute the app gives error saying Your session is still active or Your session was not closed…. which is very inconvenient for such a gigantic banking&financing company. Many more features can be added to the App please have a look around for the possible addition that can be done. I really don’t want to eliminate my account on basis of User experience.

We believe HDFC is a premium bank. So please maintain the quality and standard that you offer with your mobile banking. UI will take us to a 90’s old dull/washed out clutter experience. An inadvertent closing of the app won't let us in for another 10-15 mins , it varies. Next, substandard experience is with Ads . There are ads plastered throughout. Though these Ads are of HDFC products, it’s not pleasant to have it displayed anywhere in the UI. The displayed ad is preventing the normal usage experience. We have to close the ad to view the full page. Create a separate section for your Ads, products and promotion. Will access if we wish to do so. Also make the UI a little more intuitive, crisp and simple in terms of controls, functions & experience. This will make the end user like us more comfortable in using the app.

This thing is slow and complicated. I can understand that the app needs protection and some kind of privacy too, but why at the cost of designing? Even I’m a developer and I can understand what all can be changed and what can’t be. And I assure you this, that this app needs a lot of rework. For example: Heres a simple usecase - I want to get the statement for past 8 months from today. Do you know how complex that is to get from this app? So many buttons and menus clicks and everything. UI and Ux needs a lot of work guys..
I suggest you change the layout of the menus as well since clubbing so many things within one heading can be misleading for several customers. For example - Funds transfer is under the menu cards. What logic is that?
Seriously disappointed from the devs and the architect of this app. Needs a lot of rework!

1. Use biometrics of the phone to login to the app, don’t make us type pin or password. Use pin only when performing transaction operation. 2. Provide all the banking features in the app. Learn from KOTAK’s app. User can do almost anything in their app. HDFC app is limited in features. 3. Make your app’s user interface ‘intuitive’ and user friendly. Even government bank’s apps are more intuitive than yours. Take a cue from ICICI/Kotak/SBI and make an intuitive interface.
4. The app is also buggy. After payment of credit card bill, the app’s credit card section still shouldn’t show as amount ‘due’ or ‘outstanding’ This creates confusion. Although the payment is recorded in the server , but the display still says ‘bill outstanding/due’.

The user experience of App is so pathetic most of the time functions doesn’t work and navigation is so complex. Also, the login process is so outdated, no option of Face ID login neither a quick pin access. Why the hell are you taking 24 hours for Third Party Transfer registrarion? Pther Banks are allowing to Transfer on immediate basis and you are asking users to first go through a lengthy form just to register for Third Party Transfer which doesn’t make any sense. And even after doing that you restrict user for 24 hours to be eligible to make a payment. This is worse than a Govt. Bank. The Banking Apps should be quick and users should be able to transact within minutes. Other private banks apps are doing this job pretty well. No idea why HDFC is not improving and still self imposing as No. 1 Bank of India, if you really are then give your customers the best banking experience through your App at least. I would rate HDFC as the worst private bank of India.

I am sure that this application is still a work in progress and will include more features from conventional net banking in near future, however, I am particularly annoyed by forced ads. I believe I should get a preference option where I can set if I want to see these ads. Seeing offers on my bank’s app on a relatively small screen should be my preference. Taking a star out due to this. I’ll revise the stars to five if this features is added to app preferences.

I would like to tell you that certain features don’t work properly , like when you open FD in deposits and check interest rate then app immediately crashes and it close down , then when you open it again you have to re-enter your password , but due to some technical fault the earlier session was still active so you have to wait . There are bugs in many features. Hope to see update and get more user friendly application with extra layer of security . Sir please provide a simple section in which user can check his/her points earned and that data should be update frequently as per transaction. Its like if you made certain amount of transactions than for that transaction it show cashback or reward point if person is eligible . There should be transparency for the users , so he or she can check up rewards point and cashback regularly. Hoping to see modifications in your app and transparency for users .

Wrongly says my phone is jailbroken and refuses to open

I have had HDFC as my primary bank with over 8 accounts of both gaming and my businesses that I manage. The app has worked fine all these years but recently stopped opening giving me something called a
“FATAL ERROR”
Which says: For your own safety we don’t allow users with jailbroken devices to use this application.
I have a factory unlocked phone bought from an Apple store in the US with valid purchase and documents and warranty coverage in India. I can’t use the app now on the phone which is extremely irritating and troublesome as I have to open the net banking using safari if I need to access net banking. I have deleted and reinstalled the app again but to no avail. I don’t know why this is happening but has killed the app forever for me!

Absolutely pathetic application, doesn’t accept my quick access pin doesn’t let me set a new one, it takes hours to just change the password again and again and everytime after two days it says password incorrect it’s so stupid. I had logged in with exactly the same password 2 days back and today it’s showing invalid and all this is just to enter the application into my very own account. No kind of customer service helpline no mentioned for help and all this stupidity is just to login once I some how manage to login I can’t get statement of my very own account for the desired period. It’s absolutely a pathetic application, don’t understand how do they expect such level of incompetency in this digital era...absolutely disappointed definitely would advise my company to shift their salary accounts to some other bank.

HDFC has one of the best hassle free banking apps in India. That's the main reason I stick with HDFC. Though it can be drastically improved in UI UX CX. Money management features are needed. Ability to make sections inside an account are needed. Say to save money for Travel. A section inside my account named Travel would be perfect. It won't be a saving instrument but just a saving area for organising money. Please listen to users and implement these ideas fast. It's 2020 already. Otherwise some other bank or Fin Tech app will do it better than you are unwilling to do. Then HDFC won't be so lucrative anymore. Cheers. ✌

I was a regular user and used the app almost everyday for transferring funds and other transactions and was not facing any issues until it stoped working from the last one month. Every time i open the app it shuts down on its own within 2 seconds and does not even give me a chance to put my login credentials. I have uninstalled and downloaded the app several times along with switching my phone off/on every time also updated my phone’s IOS which is the latest IPHONE along with updating the app too but is of no help. Am i the only one facing this problem or is there a temporary technical glitch from the backend ? Please help as am losing interest in the bank too due to that and might close the ac for a new bank for its net banking service as its really annoying and disappointing.

HDFC should seriously outsourced the job of app development to some professional company. The application is not stable, features are difficult to find and don’t work as expected. Few of them are
1. You can’t transfer money to a new payer for next 30 min after adding, app already ensure dual authentication so why such delay? Other banks don’t have such restrictions. Also there is a limit on the amount for next 48 hours. Are you serious about digital banking ?
2. A payee was already added but I added by mistake again which application prompted that payee already exists. Good so far but now when I transfer the money to same payee, it is asking to wait and considering it new payee.
3. Changed my mobile number and it deleted my UPI account I’d. Now I am not able to create new UPI ID, support team could not solve it for last 2 weeks
4. I hate the ads banner, are you serious about your business ? Why you are bothering your customers with adds?
Hope a professional team can redevelop the app and improve it. Earlier the app was worst, now there have been some updates but still need lot of work.

To add - it shows the account balance by including fixed deposits as well, and the FD done is for a lock-in period of 5 years and I won’t be able to touch it until 5 years; why are you misguiding us?
I got a response saying that I have to write it to Hdfc email ID, isn’t this enough for you to consider the flaws; Why do we have to write an email? We customers are not happy and hence giving feedback here, and you want us to write separately to you?!

Have only tried the updated app for few functions - Add a Payee / Transfer via NEFT. Doesn’t seem to be a big change over the old app but am sure HDFC Bank will continue to make improvements. Didn’t like the following features:
1. During transactions, little banners (bank’s additional service advertisements) pop up on the bottom of the screen and doesn’t go away till the time we manually close them using the ‘X’ mark. This is an annoyance as you have to stop in the middle of whatever you are doing to close the banner and then continue as some of the screen for transaction in progress is hidden behind it.
2. After making a third party transfer, the receipt can be downloaded but it also mentions the available balance in your account. Now, if you have to send the proof of payment to a third party (Society Maintenance Charges, school fee, etc.) and you are not comfortable sharing your bank balance with everyone the you have to use third party tools to hide that information. Hope the developers will look into this.

App is crashing

Is this kind of application what we can send to production directly without any UAT or pre-prod testing!! This application not yet being tested at all in such phase of quality testing and developers just pushed the same to go for live!! What a mess . Since last couple of weeks i am facing the problems in both my iPhones 6S plus and newly purchased one iPhone XR. Underneath are the listed issues that needs to be taken care of ASAP and let the issues to be fixed on an immediate basis.
1. Whenever trying open the application after closing the first session, it’s not getting opened at all and crashing repeatedly after onwards.
2. If you still able to open the same, and try to check how many payee you added in payee list, that time also the application is getting crashed and after that you will never be able to open up the application again.
3. A very slow performance with lots of loading times and sometimes the application is unable to identify either the password i am entering or the finger scan or my face recognition activities.
So my request to developers and team to please look at the above mentioned points on a priority basis and take a prompt action to resolve the same.
Please treat this as an escalation from my end.

The app’s user interface is the worst on iOS

Hdfc really needs to step up the game in iOS apps. Canara banks UI is far superior. You need to hire better iOS app developers. The app is laggy and not smooth at all. Also there are a lot of features missing. Touch unlock, or face unlock to log in can be implemented to make life much easier for the user. Here, always entering the customer Id and then the password feels really time consuming. Also the UI can be improved so much. Learn from other banking apps, I would say. Elegant UI where the users feel good and safe using the app is a must have for these banking apps. I feel like this app is gonna crash and burn every time I use it🤣. Also frequent updates fixing the existing bugs should be given where this app’s last update was 7-9 months before.

This is definitely a blessing as this app has improved and taken a leap from its earlier version which was really down below in usability, convenience and performance. The new version is much better but need a lot of tweaks to keep up with other private banking apps and improve the phone banking experience of its customers. And I am quite certain that they will upgrade their app version with better UI and additional features to keep with the competition.
Thanks for making phone banking experience a bit more convenient than before and I hope to see it more user friendly in the coming years.

Unnecessary Advertising/Pop-ups and unable to recharge prepaid mobile

This application is giving unnecessary Advertising/Pop-ups about Fastag. I closed this pop-up twice and thrice but the pop-up keeps on coming. Also, i experienced the same with another pop-up about “Loan on a Credit Card is ready”. Even after closing the pop-ups, I am getting the same pop-ups again again and again. This wasn’t the case with previous version of the app.
I couldn’t recharge my prepaid mobile with this app. I entered mobile number, operator, amount, but unable to select pay from. Screen doesn’t allow to select this and hence cannot go further. This is completely a failure. Fix it.

Dear Developers at HDFC, you did the good job on making new UI. Initially for any end user it will take some time to getting familiar with the new UI. Initial I had bad experience with this new app, as I have already experienced with old app. I don’t want to discourage here as I know the pain of development a software. Instead bringing quirks here, I’m suggesting couple of validations or new enhancements and questions.
1. If the credit card payment paid, it shouldn’t show the payment due details again.
2. Coming to download the statement, Is it possible to add 4 new options to to the drop down like download Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 statements? These options will definitely help so many users.
Question: Is Touch ID working with this app? I couldn’t see or I don’t know how to get it. Can you please suggest?

Guys its big time now that you need to invest proper time in planning and implementation of digital enablement. The Mobile Banking solution has to be available round the clock having said the transaction timelines defined by RBI. Its been second time in a row that the application is just not AVAILABLE..!!
Needless to say you are one of the most trusted and secure bank in our country, but guys you need to up your game. Such instances is really having a black mark on your reputation. This very issue was discovered when mobile banking application was redesigned and revamped and it turned out to be a fiasco !!
Off lately the outage has again surfaced counting the very new instance happening couple of days back. Please look into the implementation partner/vendor this is really not going down the right lane. I’ll really do not want to be harsh on this but it is a result of POOR: planning, design, implementation, vendor/partner, tech stack used under the hood. A banking solution cannot have the audacity to behave in this way in production environment, the trust in digital solution will be breached and once it is lost, you know it very well !!
Hoping to see the current outage fixed at the earliest !!

In today’s day and one would imagine that a large bank like HDFC will have a good enough and stable app..but HDFC has now let its customers down...TWICE! Their current app just doesn’t work. It cannot handle the massive volumes of transactions and concurrent traffic and has not been designed well. For the last 2-3 days, it keeps throwing an error stating that the server is busy and cannot handle more traffic. Thats just not a good enough excuse HDFC. Fire your app dev team for not being able to manage high volumes and maintaining a scalable database. This CANNOT BE AN EXCUSE ANYMORE! Also PLEASE DONT FORCE USERS TO ADOPT THIS TERRIBLE APP WHICH IS NOT READY FOR PRODUCTION! Your previous app was good enough and got the job done. Atleast it was stable! In your hurry to move users to the new app, you have let them down TWICE! And there better not be a third time or else we might quit HDFC altogether..absolute shambles!

In application ad is mere disturbance

The mobile application prior to this update was quite good. At least we were able to do only what we want to do but in the recent update, the in application ads have created havoc. I wonder whether we pay you for using the netbanking transactions or to view the ads. It was very well placed application when it was kept simple and crisp for user. The current user interface is also pathetic. In addition to that, this application does not even ask for permissions if customer wants to view such ads or not. You just impose them on us. Really wonder if banking should be shifted to another bank because mobile netbanking application user interface of other leading banks is more convenient and simple. Being a customer last 10 years, have never experienced such thing with HDFC. Request to switch to older version only with enhanced security. This version was brought in saying it has enhanced web security for account holders but that was a myth. You people just had bring in your advertisements.

This is true in case where the journey of the user using the app is not mapped. I found it so hard to do one simple fund transfer.
User Experience:
The old app was so much better in terms of mobile app experience. The journey of doing a simple task was easy to understand and navigate. The new mobile app fails miserably by making everything complicating and this entails finding out the balance. Why can’t the accounts be displayed up front? This is a classic case of fixing something that was not broken in the first place.
Testing:
Was testing actually done with a set to sample users?
Design:
Such a cluttered design. Looks like someone has used website version of components like text box, drop downs etc and used it as is in a mobile app. Were able designers used for redesign? It doesn’t look like the components are 40px wide.
Overall:
Most difficult app to use. In a generation were apps are progressing, HDFC’s mobile banking experience is regressing. Truly disappointed with the new app
Request to HDFC:
Please let us use the old mobile banking app. The current one is very poor in terms of design, thought and use experience.

So today I accidentally came to know that your app got “new” version, since previous version not showing me the Bill Pay option. thanks to MSEDCL because first time I realised that MSEDCL is more smarter than hdfc bank :) because they notify me right amount of bill and HDFC showing me the some different (previous + current = double amt bill), since previous already paid and got updated at MSEDCL but not at your end... anyways some error at your database which I’ll try to fix with customer care...
My whole point is the previous version is much better and stable with good looking interface then why the hell you guys updated with this new crapy looks, on Login screen it’s showing password while typing..., inside look is terrible and pathetic... so disappointed with the interface, I feel more safe and secure with older version... can we try to revert or at least try to give more stable version with more security...

I called the call center for a query....I was told it is solved....a few days later when I call again to follow up...the next peoson said my complaint was never registered and there is no record of me calling and speaking to anyone...whenever you call the rep will only give u some stupid answer to end the call..but nothing will be done..even the smart offers...they will say there is a 10% off on hdfc bank cards..but when u click on the details..there is no way to avail the offers....please please please never ever deal with hdfc bank..or else you will regret it. I can challenge you there is no other bank app that has soo many 1 star ratings...

Classic case of going from an average app to a pathetic app

The previous verison of the app was average in terms of usage but it used to get the work done. The new look app is sooo crappy that there are no words to describe the experience. It allows you to login, but shows no information and keeps showing a refresh message at the bottom, clicking on which does nothing except to add to your frustration. I keep finding myself going back to the chrome route thanks to netbanking. Just having an app for the heck of it is extremely shameful and appalling just because you want to be in the race. I’ve made more effort to write this feedback than you guys made to create or even visualize this app. But in the true indian tradition, you will not do anythng, except that you may resposnd to this feedback with some crappy message as if you care. Save your time and dont respond, spend it with your near and dear ones they need you more me or any other app user. Nothing in India can wake up an indian. You guys are pathetic. Go cuddle your hoes...90% of the officials who read this would not even be able to comprehend whats written...hmmmm...

HDFC is getting there, but a lot to catch up

First of all, it’s no secret that they had one of the biggest blunders in App Release history and this dented their app rating big time. Now they seem to have a better app than one earlier and it does a fair job.
So for all you folks, who rated based on that experience, it might be worth giving this app another go.
However, this is just a better wrapper on their old app as they do not offer any new functionalities. When you compare to other banking apps like Icici, Kotak then HDFC has a lot more to catch up. Their offerings are far less compared to standard banking apps. Their different applications like Forex, Prepaid Cards, Payzapp, Billpay etc are not well integrated in the main app.
BUT, there is a reason why they are one of the leading banks in India and I am hopeful they will invest some serious thought into making an App that their brand deserves.

I'm just amazed to see that you still have not learnt the art of testing even after the previous version was an utter flop.
HDFC, can you please mention which company is developing your app?
No, seriously I can provide them some inputs for a better user experience and to avoid embarrassment for the end users.
I happened to install this app yet again hoping it'll be a better experience this time and there you go; as soon as I login and trying to browse different options, please read it again I'm just browsing not even transacting, I constantly get an alert which says
"Sorry! Something seems to have gone wrong..."
I mean just look at it, it definitely looks like some testing message which is not even like a professional message.
So please consider this on a serious note as it is hindering your own brand.
On the other end, the UI/UX is also not that great. Just adding some colorful images does not add anything to UI/UX.
The ease of traversing and the usage is not at all great and that is what adds to UI/UX.
So please consider hiring some top class design agency to redesign your app.

respectable but not a replacement for online banking

I find this true about most of the Indian bank mobile applications and the same is true for HDFC as well. The application seems clunky and is not a good enough replacement of the online banking portal or going to the branch. Especially in a populous country like India and for a bank with the scale of HDFC, the focus should be on making the online and mobile banking portals so easy and feature rich that it reduces the number of visits to branch. I cannot do simple things as link my aadhar number from the mobile banking app. It has a feature to add a quick access pin on the login page. But once I login, I cannot use the settings page to set a quick access pin. Please think of user use cases properly and have a clear focus when designing a software as important as a banking app.

It takes special talent to be this bad !

HDFC - How hard is it to get an application roll out right ?
I hope someone from your app development team is on the verge of (if not already done) getting fired for this...I would think that role outs like this would have been given “some” thought (read testing) before launch....What is your fallback option ??
No communication since the newer version of app was rolled out...that it is working or not or any update or anything that’s worth listening to or sounds like a logical explanation...
Are you serious that in this day and age - you will just choose to be quite about the mess you have made in a medium that YOU are trying to push as the next age of banking ??? Unbelievable...
Organizations, much smaller than yours have managed these kind of changes better. I can understand stand that you tried something new and maybe it did not work....what I do not understand is that you never had a “PLAN B”...Forget Plan B, you messed up what was working fine until that time...
HDFC - you have some actors behaving like professionals amongst yourselves, please try and fix that before you fix the app...maybe that will serve you better in the long run.

Unable to Login after upgrading

After I entered my cust. Id and password, the loading indicator displayed for few seconds and dismissed. I waited for few more seconds to login. But it didn’t. So I tapped login button again, this time I was getting “Already session running error”. The above case is repeating even I tried after sometime.
I updated the app after I received the alert to update by 3rd August from HDFC. But it seems like the app is not stable for customers to use. Remember that, every customer has different situation (Some times emergency) to use your app to transfer and withdraw money. I am not able to transfer money b/w my accounts to withdraw. I need to wait some more time to do transaction from my laptop. So please make sure that you’ve done end-end testing before releasing to millions.

Pathetic application’s implementation. The day I got sms I updated mine & shocking as it can be i was unable to login to my account come what may the application never responded even if u generate an OPT & enter it when asked, it doesn’t goes ahead. Hence called customer care who extremely casually & conveniently told they’re facing some issues in the new rollout hence none is able to login to mobile app.
1. Why couldn’t they Test the functionality of app before mass rollout?
2. Why couldn’t they inform to customers via sms regarding big identified hence to postpone update download?
3. I was told I now cannot roll back to previous update instead can only wait and watch for the newer version or till the time the bugs are worked upon & issue amongst their own application resolved?
4. Why couldn’t they inform in sms to not update before 2nd August as it is still not tested & may not work till their internal development team resolved the issues identified-reported.?

The customer service of Hdfc is awful, the do not have any protection for your data, they sell your personal information. I have an account with HDFC, today I have received a text msg about a transaction from my bank account, and when I called customer services, they are useless. Some stupid monkey answered my call and when I informed about the fraud with my account, he just apologised and said we are not aware about it so we can’t do anything, when I asked him to at least check first, he said I will have to transfer the call and just disconnected. Annoying creatures, like Bank like employees. Bunch of illiterates answering calls. Never go with HDFC, Opt for anything but HDFC. If you care for your wealth and personal information, don’t ever open an account, if you have one just close it asap.

Only Touch ID is insecure while travelling

Touch ID is cool, but only touch ID is insecure for banking tansaction. It should additionally be secured with few characters input of our internet banking password which the system should propose to ask and that should be dynamic each time we log in. Say system asks for 1st and 5th character of our password after it passes the fingerprint security. Similarly when next time looking in, the sequence of password character should change dynamically, like this time system asks for 4th and 5th character. Fixing only few characters entry will reduce the logging time and also ensure security specially in situations like when one is traveling alone on trains and at night when one is deep asleep.
