I just updated this app, now when you scroll on PDF page it lags behind and you can even observe page shiver , like the ones in cheap tablets. It completely ruined my iPad experience with PDF.

Please bring back the lock zoom feature like before and also highlighter width in drawing is limited now.

App was smooth in its penultimate version. Drawing feature is at worst. There is a lag in latest version. It is hanging , no smoothness at all. Hanging and crash while zoom out. On switching from one pdf to other, it starts with first page rather than page number I was at. Pdf from adobe scanner when opened in it , size of some pages automatically get reduced in vertical reading mode which makes unfriendly for users to read. Please fix these issues ASAP.

I have been using Foxit for nearly 6 years in my two different iPads,dint have any problems, but the latest update has completely lost my interest in Foxit. I have 20gb data files stored in Foxit.

First of all, its a wonderful app. I use it for all my pdf docs. However, the latest update seems comprising an achilles heel for this wonderful app. As I need to make notes from PDFs, I open MS note side by side in split screen with Foxit to quickly copy and paste from the pdf. But, in the updated version, this recourse isn’t available. Its not allowing opening another app side by side in split screen on my iPad. In the absence of this feature, making notes has become an arduous task. I looked into the setting of Foxit but couldn’t find any recourse.

ANOTHER ISSUE THAT I NOW HAVE NOTICED WITH THIS UPDATE IS ITS DELETING MY FILES. TWO PDFS HAVE BEEN DELETED THAT I OPENED WITH FOXIT AND ARE NO LONGER THERE IN DRIVE. WHEN IT OCCURRED FIRST TIME I WASNT SURE IF ITS APP OR SOMETHING ELSE. BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I LOST THE BOOK. THIS UPDATE IS A NUISANCE.

I don’t what inspired them to come up with the idea of entirely changing the user interface! I had been using the previous versions for over three years now, and it worked like a charm. This new update doesn’t let you highlight or underline without making a few clicks to activate the function, and you will have to again click and de-activate the function to be able to read further! The sensitivity to Apple Pencil has taken a hit somehow to make finger touch precision more accurate while reading. If you select a particular text and choose the option to Highlight or Underline it, the App crashes and closes down! Pathetic!, I want the previous version back

I like the app very much. I use it as my PDF reader and annotations maker. The auto crop page view is one of the best feature to read PDFs with oversized margins. The always full screen view while using the pencil makes reading experience paper like. But the only problem is, to use eraser (for erasing any wrong annotation) I have to open the tool bar and then select eraser tool. Please include the double tap feature already in Apple pencil 2nd gen for smooth interchange between pencil and eraser tool.

Update : The pencil tool is buggy. Everytime I reopen the document and try annotate using pencil tool with my apple pencil, the app does not show any line on the pdf. If I change tool ( say eraser) those lines suddenly appear on the pdf. This problem doesn't go away until I delete pencil tool from favourite tool list and re-add it. I have to do it everytime I reopen the app.

The last few updates have affected few features-

1) restoring last opened session leads us to another page if the app is closed directly, or even if the phone is locked. They only way it reopens last session if we press back button and close the pdf file and then close the app, this did not happen before the update.

2) the font color was changeable in earlier update, but that option is lost.

3) Reflow mode overall is bugged, while shifting from portrait to landscape and vise versa sometimes changes the page altogether, also, the screen gets hanged once speech assist is turned on in reflow mode.

Am updated on latest ios and the app too is running latest update.

It’s surprising earlier versions were far better and it’s been a downgrade since long.

I wrote a review long before and the issues have been the same.

Really want this app to be better.

Hope this is looked upon.

Hoping to rate it 5 after issues are fixed soon.

Zoom lock ineffective in latest version

With this new update 3 days back, I am not able to properly use this app now. With full screen mode and zoom lock, if I accidentally tap (which happen frequently)on tab , it starts to toggle between full screen and zoom out.

Previously menu screen used to overlay the pdf page without changing zoom.

With this update , its same like adobe reader.

Highly disappointed.

Zoom lock should mean that now no matter what, pdf page will stay at same zoom level.

This is an inconvenience. Of course this is the issue with the free version. Still, why you want to lose clients and well wishes?

New update ruined a perfectly working feature. I have this habit of writing few notes on my PDF and whenever I used to hit ‘back’ it used to auto save the file.

Now also it does say Saving when I hit back after scribbling a few things but when I open it again, and come back to the same page, my notes are gone.

Please rectify it soon as I use Foxit for a lot of study material.

This app used to work like a charm. But, one day it stopped opening (I think it was after latest iOS update). It will not open without an Internet connection - will say that it needs to be verified with the App Store. When there is an Internet connection, it will hang for a few seconds and then crash. Now, it is not showing in the list of apps on my iPad. I just want to recover the pdf files that I had saved in this app. Can the developers help?

Recently I installed it on my iPad hoping to get the same experience that I had in desktop, features are still great but Apple Pencil support needs huge performance upgrade. Compared to adobe , it’s pathetic right now. I hope the developers take care of this flaw to make it the favourite of pdf viewers.

This app is awesome. I use it to read all my eBooks related to Orthopaedic surgery. I have a few suggestions:

1. The app skips pages and opens unrelated/unrequested pages when reopened after using other apps. It just jumps undefined number of pages on its own. It is very annoying especially when you are using the app for at least 3-4 hours a day.

2. Another super annoying feature is that it won’t let you open a PDF when it is syncing the PDFs in the folder related to cloud storage. And there is no option to stop it if you need to open a pdf urgently. This option should be added.

3. The Apple Pencil can be used to write on the PDFs but the writing appears very bad due to absence of smoothness. Please fix that.

4. Is there a way to only upload the changes made to a PDF while uploading it to the cloud? Because uploading/syncing the entire file takes a lot of time even on WiFi especially when you have hundreds of ebooks which hundred of MBs strong.

I love this app. I wish the developers could take this in notice. It would make it even better. Waiting for a reply.

It’s hard to believe that applications like iBooks and Acrobat don’t have facing pages view for PDFs, which was the only reason why I downloaded the Foxit Reader app. Later I found this application to be a lot more flexible and easy to use, and it also provides a range of useful functions which other mainstream applications do not have. But the only disappointment here is that the PDF documents when opened on do not fill the screen. It leaves a small border on the edges of the screen which looks a bit off to me (since I’m very particular about the look and feel of apps too). I’m using an iPad Pro 11inch model. It would be great if this can be considered as an issue by your team, and hopefully, corrected. Thanks!

When i try to reduce or increase the volume of music played in the background using volume rocker the page i am reading also changes. Also when the music changes the page i am currently on also changes. Pliz fix this, otherwise its a wonderful app.✌️

Reading on this app is just like reading a book. You can edit / underline/ highlight things. Only thing they could work on is inter device connectivity so that it is easier to read my on all my devices.

Adobe may be the inventor of pdf. But foxit developer have taken the reader to next level. Facile to use and lots of useful feature. Reflow mode is just wow. I have suggested this to all my friends and they are using it too. Yet to convince my girl friend though. :)

I am using it for last 3yrs.. the best in the market regarding features and user friendliness. But lately it’s crashing like hell... customer support is worst.. people are complaining about it for months and yet no improvement. Every time it crashes I need to transfer my data to PC, delete the app and again install it... else you won’t be able to keep your documents. It gives so much headache.. very time consuming.

Please look into the issue and provide a proper update.

Plethora of options for the end-user.

Crop-mode viewing of PDFs with wasted white space is a God Send.

Night mode is good, plus it also offers a variety of non-white backgrounds that are gentle to the eyes.

Highlighting works just like in iBooks (tap, trace, and highlight).

People who value functionality will enjoy this.

But in this app it’s really easy to do it

This is one of the best free pdf reader available. Lots of features. Connected pdf for on the go readers,annotations,lookups,highlights work like a charm. There are few extra features like exporting the comments to a separate pdf which are available in the desktop version. I wish those are added to the iOS app version as well.

This app covers my entire educational needs that includes editing the pdf files, renaming, categorising, arranging them into folders and sharing them. A wonderful app for those who does a lot of work on pdf files in an iPad. The interface is also very basic and works without any lag or unexpected closures (except for some very few cases). I highly recommend it.

Hands down one of the best free pdf readers for the iPad. Had a few bugs after the iOS 11 update but they fixed the app in some time. All the host of features offered are unparalleled. It would be amazing if they would add ePub support too. Then there would be no reason to install a separate app for ePub files.
