Push Notifications Not Working

Plz Gmail work on fixing the push notifications bug. It is long pending and very irritating. Suddenly Gmail app stops sending you push notifications n here u are refreshing the app manually after every 5 seconds to see if you have missed something.
P.S. I have already uninstalled and re-installed Gmail app on my iphone mini for 5 times in a month. Every time I reinstall the notifications start working fine. Then post 2-3 days it is all over. It is highly irritating!!

App runs perfectly fine till last couple of weeks but since last 3-4 weeks I am facing notifications issue. Not getting push notifications on real-time basis even after giving all permissions needed. Due to which I need to keep on checking my emails every 10 minutes as I have realized this issue after missing my meeting, and other important emails that needed immediate attention.

I changed password recently on my iPad using the forgot password feature. Noted down and tested immediately. It worked in ipad. Then i picked my lenovo k8 plus mobile , it was logged out automatically asking me to reset the password again another time. I changed the password and noted down in a paper. Again tried to test the login using the noted down password on the ipad device The authentication failed. No matter how many times i tried. This is strange. After changing the password via ipad device why another time i was made change on the mobile device. After changing the password on the mobile , why the changed password failed to authenticate when the ipad login was done the gmail app.

Gmail is an amazing app. I can not just have emails, but also help us access our chats and join Google Meets. But I have experienced heavy lag on my 2021 iPad Pro. Mind you, it has a very powerful processor, so nothing of this sort should happen. If the meeting has 40 people, but only 5 have their camera on, there should be an option to hide the people with their camera off, which can reduce the lag, and also help us focus on the people speaking or presenting.

I’ve been using this app since a very long time but I’ve recently started facing issues related to notifications about the emails. I get them from every other app but this! So obviously this isn’t my device’s problem, but from the gmail app itself. I only get to know about the emails when I open the app. This shouldn’t be happening at all in a world where things are so much online. This isn’t just my issue as I see while writing the review so I hope google fixes this ASAP! Otherwise, the app has been really good. Hope it only improves further. 🤞🏻

I don’t know why all of a sudden, the gmail app repetitively keeps crashing when I’m using in on my iPad or iPhone. Not even 2 minutes into the app and it crashes. I even updated but it still kept crashing. Please fix this. [Update on 20 September] The crashes had stopped for a while but they returned! I cannot peacefully read an email without the app crashing. That’s it. I’ve had enough with this and am going back to the Apple default email!

Workspace is awesome. Very simple and prominent. One huge drawback that they don’t have any font changing option neither we can change the colour of the font. Very bad and disappointing. Also, no option to change the font and colours of the signature. Gmail is missing all these basic features and way far behind than godaddy.

This app is great but a few important features are missing:
1. Dark mode for the app, this was indicated by someone before.
2. The “mark all read” feature. This is available for Apple’s messaging app but not for Gmail.
3. Sending files more than 25MB in size. It is inconvenient to send large files in zip form which cannot be opened by Gmail.
4. Support for more file types like zip, rar, etc.
5. The “select file” feature. For example, my friend sends a mail with 6 images. Instead of selecting all the images and downloading them at once, I have to individually select each one and download them.
I hope these features will be added in the next update.

All the mails that were there in my gmail folder have been deleted all of a sudden I don’t know how. Please fix this as soon as possible as those mails were really very very important for me. This has happened for the second time in my gmail app as well as iPhone mail app. Gmail is the most stupid email app that i have ever used. If my mails cannot be kept saved in my inbox folder forever and if they get deleted without my permission than what is the use of using this app or using it on google website.

Google meet on the phone has so many bugs and problems like the volume doesn’t go down after a certain level when you have earphones plugged in, the tile of person speaking just becomes blank (which doesn’t get fixed until you leave), there are no options like audio only, video quality, etc which are available on the desktop version.
This app needs a lot of improvisations. I’m eagerly waiting for the next update.

Why I cannot remove it after I downloaded it it was not working properly and the google meet was not working and I had a very important meeting and when I was trying to get in it was always sent me into the app and not google meet because the gmail version of google meet was not working and even when I disabled the google meet feature it always opened the google meet in the app and in the gmail google meet was not working it opened and closed in a matter of two seconds everytime that’s why the review and I am doing this in my phone and that is why I can not rate half a star

The app is very good but when i attend meeting and got disconnected the app doesn’t show for the rejoin option and even doesn’t show the previous meeting we attended minutes ago and volume is another problem so we need to go back to the link again and join again which is time consuming . The volume output will be the same even at 100% and even 20% and sometimes when we set the volume below 30 the volume shut downs completely. Otherwise very good app . Kindly look into this . I feel frustrated sometimes

There is one feature which could really help people who receive mails frequently. That is the ‘Unread’ feature. This would make it easier to sort through the mails easily. If I am not wrong, this feature is available on the desktop version but for iPads, it is not there. Hence, please try to add this in the next update

I am using this app from 5 to 6 year . Im using this app in my iPhone XS max from one year but from last month when I'm going to edit draft main or enter some long emails the app is hanged but in iPhone email app it’s properly working kindly please make changes in this app so that we can further use this.
This app we can not use for long emails , I didn’t face this problem before .
Cannot Edit Drafted emails

Hi
The app is much sorted out and works fine but there is this glitch which i cam across yesterday while editing the drafted emails.
I drafted the email from PC and then tried to edit the same email through ios gmail app and the app doesn’t respond and freezes completely, also i drafted an email from app itself, saved and closed the app then again tried to edit the same email but again the app froze.
Kindly look into the same and solve the thing as its much annoying

Since you offer gmail for business also and not only personal use, (You have included Google meet feature in G suite). I believe if you also include a chat option (incorporate hangouts feature into gsuite) and then google tasks and calendar (so that tasks/calendar entry can be created from the app by using a chat or email message) it would be perfect and would rival all other business collaboration solutions. Since drive integration is already present. Google task integration is also there but you need to bring all of them under one app. Gmail is already half way there. Just finish the job.
Filter/sort unread emails in primary

This app could have been better if a user could filter unread emails or place them at the top (like using Unread First) - this was and still is only available if you change your inbox type. It should be something added to the default inbox as well. I don’t want to see messages from the social or promotions categories when I want to view unread emails. Please consider this for an upcoming update.
Good App but Issue with Signature

Nice app with one major problem. The web mail has option of appending the signature above the quoted text. The app does not have this feature and hence, while replying to emails involving multiple conversations, the signature comes at the very end making it pretty unusable. Can you please provide the same feature of append signature before quoted text in app as well. All the other apps have this option by default.

This app is one of the best user friendly and easiest apps available for emails but the most irritating feature is the attachments options in iOS. It does not allow to attach the file from internal storages. Google announced on Feb 12th that in the next update it will resolve the issue and users can attach the file from internal storage but its not available yet. Kindly share some info on this update if possible.
Unable to attach from Files app

When we tap the attach icon (paperclip) in gmail, only photos and recent attachments are available. Other attachments such as PDF in the new Files app can only be shared through the app. This is possible for composing new mails but is difficult to attach files when replying/ forwarding existing mails.
Pls add option to attach from files app within gmail itself.
Dark Theme not available

This app is the best mailing app I've ever seen. But I've a problem. It's not just my problem but a problem of many people across the world. My iPad is always on Dark Theme, but my GMail app stays in light theme. Neither there's an option in settings to change the theme. My loading screen of Gmail comes in Dark Theme only, but when the app opens it changes back to light theme. I was browsing over the net to find its solution, and I found many people having the same issue. I request you to fix this problem and let everyone have Dark Theme in Gmail. Else the app is just awesome

This is a great app. My rating and feedback is solely based on the title of the feedback and will change as soon as it’s addressed.
The dark mode doesn’t respect system default and when I tried to manually update it, the theme option isn’t available settings.
“Unified inbox” and “Mark all as Read” needed

Developers, please take note. I think all those who have more than one email address (could be personal and work) would appreciate a unified inbox, where a user can see emails from all accounts in one inbox.
The other feature that is sorely needed is the ability to mark all mails as read. At the moment we have to select each individual mail and then mark them as read.
Third party email clients already have the aforementioned features. About time Gmail did if it needs to up its game.

Requesting you to please help me to recover my account. It’s very old account and I have so many important email in it and it is connected to many apps, it was working fine until I reset my phone. Not even though I have my recovery email and number it is not letting me into my account every time I m trying to recover my account it is asking the date when I have created my account n I don’t remember it, it been around 6 or 7 year. Please please help me to get the gmail account recover. I am not able to understand if I have both the things the recovery email and the phone number why the hell its not letting me in. Please help

There is a bug in ios app because these days notifications are not showing when new mail comes and auto sync not working sometimes. Also if mail comes and unread notification not show and working one most important thing that its stucking with number 1 in notifications always without any changes..
I request you please add a feature of finger touch login in ios app asap for more safety and security reasons. Alreadt whats app did it in his app so please add this to get more stars. Thanks
Attachments possible only from gallery and Google Drive

I don't know what the issue is with Google, but the only way to attach anything from the Gmail app on iOS is either from the gallery or from the Google Drive. Most iPhone users won't consider using this app if the Files app can't be accessed for attachments.
The only way to do so is to go to a document, open it and then share it through the Gmail app, which is ridiculous in itself. Moreover, this doesn't allow multiple attachments either.
This is not an issue with Apple, since I can attach documents from the Files app while using Microsoft Outlook.

I am a regular user of the app and i can see that the app still needs a lot of technical developments. When i want to select multiple emails to mark it as read on an phone i have to do it one by one, why can't you guys provide a select all option to action on multiple emails at once? Also everytime i want to use All emails option but it defaults to Primary email option which i don't like. Moreover there are few fields missing while composing an email, there's no option for Fonts selection or adjusting the text formats etc. You guys need to stay ahead if you wanna compete in this faster technological world as if still manual actions are required to use Gmail then its a failure. Thanks !!
Comfortable but difficult to attach

The app is very much comfortable, but the attachment option is most irritating can only be attached by google drive or gallery, no option to attach from files app in iphone, no option to select multiple files at a go..
As files is the only place where other than images can be stored and not linking the attachment section to files is really making sending a mail with attachment a hectic task..

More concerned about attaching a file/document.
First of all you can only attach a file if it is google drive or in camera roll.
Second, if a document is attached from drive, it is not actually attached, the link to it in the drive is attached. So when the recipient tries to open it, the google drive opens up instead of the document itself and if the recipient doesn’t have access to that document in drive, he/she has no option other than banging his/her head against the wall.
It is more than annoying.

In the 1st place it is a very sad that a response is not yet received for my query .
In outlook we can enable and disable the thread email function. kindly add in a key accordingly, find it difficult to respond to appropriate emails. Also I have tried opening the gmail mail box through outlook app but it states IMAP not enabled , I have enabled it but still no luck. The app is getting worse from day to day. Settings are not reflecting as per advise given in help for e.g. Labels does not have functions to enable IMAP . But advise shows it has , I have tried hard to find the correct menus but it waste. I hope this is really looked upon

From the notification, there are two options one to archive and one to reply, I would like to have an option to delete so that we can delete directly without having to open the app. Hope google will consider this functionality. Kudos👍🏼

It will helpful to select and delete some promotional emails at one click like the computers have that we can select a category of emails at one click and do delete or mark as read instantly and must have an option to select all email at one click to clear up the unwanted instead of clicking one by one

I like gmail, drive and google docs. But there is a little frustration in Gmail app when you want to attach any docs from google drive. Why would gmail app send a link or restrict access to download the attachments for recipients sent by me ? Why can’t we just attach my docs from google drive with out any sharing the google drive link ?

The app needs a big boost in its performance. The app does not refresh fast enough to get the unread or new emails sometimes. Most of the time the Badge App Notifications do not disappear after the unread emails have been marked as read or has been deleted from the inbox. Two features I am really looking forward for is 3D Touch integration to be able to preview emails and option to control the email syncing.

I see a problem that even after all the emails have been read, the app icon (baggage icon) shows unread. Some of the times it gets corrected automatically. This is very annoying.
One more issue is that I am not able to make this app open links in an email outside of the app in safari browser. This makes it difficult to go back to email while still working on the web page opened by clicking a link in email.
