HOW IT WORKS
Most aircraft today are equipped with ADS-B transponders that transmit positional data. Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of 20,000 ground stations around the world to receive this data that then shows up as aircraft moving on a map in the app. In an expanding number of regions, with the help of multilateration, we’re able to calculate the positions of aircraft that don’t have ADS-B transponders.

This app shows flights but at belated stage. I reside near airport and can see the flight coming. However this app shows only 50% flights correctly. Private flights, helicopters and some commercial flights are not displayed in app though I actually seen flights by my eyes.

I don't know why this issue haven't been raised but when an aircraft lands it literally skids off the runway (according to FR24) & also ground movements are not tracked properly. Other than that i love the app, using it almost everyday to track my friends & family flights
