Worst application and time waster
I find iMovie to be lacking compared to other iOS video editing apps. The application, both in terms of functionality and music options, falls short when compared to its competitors. The absence of new features is disappointing, and it occupies a considerable amount of space without delivering the best features available in the market. There’s room for improvement, and I hope future updates address these concerns.

With iPhones getting so powerful these days, apple should convert imovie into a mini Final Cut Pro or launch an ios version of Final Cut Pro. This imovie app is very basic. We need features like 100+ transitions, Keyframe animations, Green screen chroma effects, effects, color grading with HSL and histogram, multitrack video layers, PiP, support for video import from files app, support for ProRes video export, control of export frameRate/BitRate and resolution. This will just make the app so Pro. Also just like Garageband, plugins/Extensions should be available for iMovie as well.

Sir i faced continuous lag and stucked also while editing videos after update ios15.1 . Firstly i think there was minor issue but now i turned into a major issue too much lag this application not in that condition to use that type of major lag and shuttering every time i have proof also and i went to apple service centre to know that it was ipad problem or third party app problem. Then there was no problem in my ipad . It was only third party app problem . Same thing service centre executive told me . It is not acceptable to pay huge money for this type of experience not acceptable at all.

It is horrible to review that words are failing me. The kind of nincompoops & retards that are in Apple today.
Shame on it's creators, even the most basic simplest & common sense features are not in this app. The time is not shown while playing the video during editing! For splitting a video into several parts we need to make different, different projects & can;t do it all in just the same project.
Just can't express how horrible it is. The Apple brand today is such a shame.

It took me 3-4 days to make a video and I was going to finalise it after so much work, there was no duplicate option to make multiple versions of a project, suddenly on the fifth day when I opened my project which I worked so hard on , the video clips is rotated and sticks to one side of the screen, of course I can rotate it back to normal but now all the clips sticks to one side of the screen, not in the center , it was such a headache to rotate all the clips back to normal, but there wasn’t any option to make the clips fit to the center again. Wasted so much of my time, I had to leave the project undone. So if you plan to do serious video editing which takes many hours of your time DONT USE iMovies, it will just mess up your hard work.

App is good, and much better on the laptop version, but on iPad you can’t have audio independent from the video. If a video starts at 0:00 and you want to import audio to play under that, the audio has to start at 0:00 instead of being independent. This gap between Mac version and iOS version is a glaring issue that Apple needs to fix.

When we add text in clips & then after when we increase or decrease the length of the particular clip, the text line doesn’t increase of decrease simultaneously.
e.g. If I use 25 seconds clip & text it. But by some reason if I decrease the same clip to 15 seconds, the text of the same clip remains for 25 seconds ! This text will appear on the next clip for 10 seconds.

iMovie is pretty basic and it would be great if some more features were added to it. I can’t afford Final Cut Pro yet and I feel like iMovie can’t do as many things as other free editing apps can.
First off, adding color correction would help to make videos more bright.
There are very less effects available. The only ones available are video filters and videos could be better if some animation effects were added.
Next, I can’t add 2 text boxes at the same time and I can’t hit the enter/return button for the rest of the text to go to the next line. That’s a great bummer.
Also, when I use green screens, a sort of film forms over the video due to which the contrast goes down.
We would all love it if some intros were added as well!

This app lets you do everything one needs.
With new update there are some more additional features like customising text template. Overall great app.
Best free video editing app on iOS.
But please add option to color grade your videos. That is the only thing missing in this.

The new added features are pretty cool but there are bugs in the recent update. I edited a video using these new features & when I try to save it on my phone, the app crashes. Please do something about it. It took me 14 hours to edit that video & I can’t afford to lose it.

I am using this app from very old time like 2015 or 16 I downloaded this app I love this app because it was free totally but now I will give this app full full ratings because thanks for adding the feature of. Green screen and Picture in Picture for face cam and that time the text feature was available but we cannot drag it or move it and the text was only white only so we have to take black background for the text and now u added the text colour and to drag it thanks 🙏 very much I love this app 😍

Dear creator I request you please upgrade sound quality when we increase speed of video and do small interval by which we can increase or decrease speed of video.
( I mean that speed increase rapidly you should adjust such that 1.1,1.2,1.3 and so on )
There is problem with text also .
We can not move text on video and we can not colour them
This app is just bam.I mean The App As Easy Like We Are Making a Film like professionals

I am here to inform you that we need some more effects and much options by which it seems to b easy to create anything by this app. and There is Some Problem in Green Screen picture coz whenever I add a green screen clip it covered the whole clip and I can’t adjust the ratio where to set that green screen,I hope you will update the app for a better user experience.
And if you can help us for the bit-rate option by which we don’t need to share the video to another app for bitrate clearance.
If you can give the bestest experience of the making our videos smoother and expertized,Plz help me out and give us the opportunity to make such an amazing videos😊
Unable to see audio waveform.

I have been using this app comfortably for video editing for quite some time now. But after iOS 14 update, I cannot see the audio wavelengths. When I tap on audio setting at the centre right of the screen, all I can see is a bar instead of waveform and this has made editing difficult. Please, update this app, so that audio waveform is back.

Overall Good. Some updates required.
1] To sync Audio and Video. Time should be displayed. For e.g in video at 0:01 should start sync with audio at 2:31
2] Orientation for video should have option to choose.
3] To crop video for specific seconds.
4] Must Have Flexibility to add text with effects at any location instead of default locations.

And really fun and easy to use the thing it is only missing is colour the text and also and sticker to the video many apps has it we can add stickers and so many stuff i really hope colouring text will come really soon! This is soo good!🤩 For sooooo long I have been searching for an editing software and all of them were so bad 👎but iMovie is free ( who does not love anything free) and awesome👍. you can cut cop paste duplicate and so on. there are no adds only like 1 or 2. I just have a few suggestions✍️ for the phone📱 and Ipad📟 version. Please add more fonts and color options for the text! That’s it I really love♥️ the app and you should definitely 👍download it! It’s a wonderful and handy app, with a simple user interface. Helps you add green/blue-screen for visual effects and a lot more. The trimming and mixing of videos is super easy with simple gestures as tap and drag.
The only issue I faced is the Audio bars aren’t shown in the audio section that might help u sync audio’s better.
Also while aligning video in video (cutaway) the grids for better positioning aren’t displayed as on Mac. If those are improved over future updates it would be delightful to edit perfectly on the go anytime anywhere!✌🏻

I have been using iMovie since 2 years,
But still i can see nothing extra has been upgrade yet, iMovie is best for new users and easy to use wherever and whenever you want, without crashing the file, Please get some new features like text fonts, effect adjuster and many more. Or else just develop it into paid version.

I movie App is very nice app from apple , so thanks to Apple management, but fast forward speed not more than 2x . While writing app recording , hand writing speed very slow that’s moment required more than 2x speed to match audio speech, if possible add more future like adobe videos editor, that’s time iPad user can’t need to any other APP

Sir seriously I have no complain for this update. I have a request. Please please add an option to move zoom in zoom out rotate features for that. When I add any green screen video to my project there is only option I got is strength and drag corner to exclude area. Just add rotate and zoom in and out. You don't know how much you will help me with adding this feature! Please please reply and tell me how fast you can do this 🥺🙏🏻

This application is very useful. It is very easy to run. I feel great to tell you that I am a video editor, I make all my videos on my computer with enlarged memory, but now I make iPhone in iMovie. It has become very easy. If we get two more options, then it will become even easier, now text is fixed , but it should be such that we can place the text anywhere and And one more thing, we could put at least five video picture in picture. Will be much better .

its is not available on appstore searching from my device running ios 12.4.4. why its older versions removed? and, i try searching this app from safari its says this app required ios 13 or later. please add older version again on appstore. im using this app for many years suddenly its disappeared. my device become useless and on my other devices iphone 5s it is still installed and try to share the app to another device the results not found on appstore. fix this issue

Its a awesome application. Working flawlessly without crash. There are no others app equivalent to this in appstore in the matter of stability, files handling and smooth workflow.
But most useful features which an editor needs are not there. Like multilayer editing, transform adjustment, basic color correction. There are great apps in apps store with all these basic features, unfortunately those do not have smooth workflow. I had to switch multiple apps to edit videos.
I expect from apple to release a descent upgraded soon.

I use iMovie to edit all of my videos on iPhone 6 which is running on iOS 12
due to storage issues i deleted the app but now when i want it again it says iOS 13 required. The thing i like about iPhone is that is has so many Productivity apps for free. And now the main app has gone. my phone is useless now. Only to make phone calls. Sed Lyf.

Hi, I use iMovie to edit videos very frequently, but I’ve been experiencing some issues, the audio is not in sync with the video, I also experience song issues in iMovie, I downloaded a song and wanted make that song the background audio for a video, so when I inserted the song, the song just floated and disappeared, I inserted a different song and the same thing happened. This is so weird and this never happened before. I also couldn’t export a video to photos once.

It’s is so helpful for me only thing I request is please give some new tools like text new fonts and styles and text colour and video editing options like hue brightness adjustment contrast, saturation adjustment

Synchronising problem

I tried to attach the video files with new audio sound tracks, it does. But while editing video clip, the transition misses the music notes. I mean I want to synchronise with ups and downs of the music. But trimming video clip also trims music file, which was very annoying. Some time it starts from zero time and some times it starts directly from couple of second music passed.
I think even for such a small bug you need to release an update. Till then it will be ok only for crude movie makers.

It’s more good after the new update, my suggestion is that you also add an effects option through which we can add effects in the video like thunder, bubbles. It would also be good if you give us an option to add music online, where we can also search our music online.

iMovie is the best app iOS has. Hands down to the simplicity and features this app offered. Gone were the days when I use to record a video on DSLR and then transfer to laptop to create videos on my channel. I cannot imagine if any other software/app to do this now. Only problem I had was to add logo on my videos and for that I had to go back to my laptop. But I see that in the new update this is also resolved. Great work developers!

Unable to download previous version of imovie for old devices. I'm using ipad mini 1. I had used imovie previous version on ipad mini 1.
But when i delete the app and then try to install from app store it is not installing. Like other apps(Microsoft excel,Documents5 etc) in app store u need to provide previous version of imovie for older devices using ios9 etc.
Plz look in to this issue. Otherwise my device is useless. It will effects ur reputation.

Please add video rotation feature to this app because many times either due to rotation lock or wrong orientation video start make it difficult to retake shots and whole video goes undesirable!
And also allow to import fonts with free adjustable font locations.
And one more thing adjustable themes or importable themes so I can make better transitions in videos
