Great content bad app

I am an annual subscriber and just love the content. I mostly read it online on the website.
I am giving a low rating for the app as it is very rigid in reading capabilities. The font is too tiny, especially the summary of each article. This is best for iPad and they don’t yet have one. Now with universal app features it should be as easy as 1-2-3 to publish the iPad app as well.
Each time I try to reconcile and try using the app, I am disappointed. They should seriously look at other content reading apps on the App Store and learn something.

Really disappointed with the all experience.
Pathetic login experience
Understood the rational behind behind duplicate detection - but guys - you are obligated to make it work seamlessly.
I gifted the subscription to so many other people and I am fail to understand why the digital focused product would ignore its primary channel.
The experience is shamelessly getting worse.

The stories and the topics covered are amazing. This is undoubtedly the one journalism service that I have stuck with for the longest. For anyone interested in business and tech analysis, this is the go to place.
The app though, can do with some improvements.
1. There should be an internal dictionary or at least an option to highlight and search using iOS internal dictionary
2. If one returns to the app after some time (not having closed the app), the user needs to open the story again. The app refreshes to the story feed.

It is extremely difficult to go through the content on iPad and as also if i have to read articles while travelling then it is not possible to read article when in airplane mode.

Lookup Feature

Most of the content apps in iPhone support for lookup option-iPhone’s dictionary- when you highlight the word. I suggest you to add this feature. Sometime it’s pain to go to browser to search the meaning.
PS: The content is really good. Excellent job. The only reason I gave 1 star is hoping that the developer reads this comment.

I have a personal and a corporate login. Both of them don’t work.
Running the proverbial salt is that when I open the link in a webpage it asks me to consider installing app 🙄
I have uninstalled for good. Will consume content from web directly.

Doesn’t update stories. Can’t zoom into pictures. Doesn’t always go back to last read location. Uninstalled after a few weeks. Got tired of dealing with it.

Great content, but extremely sub par app experience. Can't even resize the text for more convenient reading - a basic tenet of any reading app. Also app times out in 10-15 mins so the articles refresh back to home screen if you take a break.
Might as well use the browser.

Given that Ken uses an extensive vocabulary in its articles, it would be great to have a lookup feature(iOS inbuilt) in the app. It would be easier to search for word definitions while staying in the app. A very basic feature!

Great Content, Useless App

I don’t see any reason for having this app on my phone. The only difference between this and the mobile web version is supposedly that you can ‘Save’ articles to read later - but when you try to read these articles (like when you’re in a plane, etc) - it doesn’t work! Why save articles when you need to be online to read them anyway?!
I really like your content, but you need to get your app game together

The awesome Ken team,
After the latest update on reading list feature, there seems to be a minor glitch. It considers all the historical articles to be unread. Hence my view now is full of all articles that are published before your app launch/my installation date. Can you fix this please ?
