I love affinity designer. Like any other design student I was taught adobe . It’s surprising to see that affinity illustrator works so much better than Illustrator. It saves time it has more options. Totally worth it.

My file is very light I am trying to make an earring in affinity designer I have tried multiple times still it’s crashing again and again ,I still have lot of space on my iPad and it’s iPad Pro A10fusion x.

Very bad UI, Small Icons. Not clearly visible in 4th generation 12.9 iPad. No options to change the UI.
Symmetry tool is available in pixel mode only.
No value for money, better go to “Picta Graphics” or “Amadine”.
Good App but there’s problem with large exports in JPG

Hey there. I’be been using Designer for quite some time now and would like to tell that it’s a great app. But there’s one thing that has bothered a lot lately. If I try to export huge file (ones with dimensions in feet) it fails to do so with the option JPEG Best quality. I thought with 1.9 it would have been fixed but sadly it’s not. I really didn’t want to give 3 stars but that very that has bugged me a lot. I can talk more with regards to this issue if you want. Thanks.
UI kit doesn’t update

It’s real frustrating to see that they have updated some unwanted features but the UI kit is still of that 1947 time IOS 12... I wanted that iOS 14 version... they didn’t update... it’s real sad and annoying.... also the texture kit is not loading completely in iPad Pro 3 gen... don’t know why... there is no way to connect to the team... it’s frustrating....

I have never used affinity designer on any other platforms neither windows nor macOS. This has been a pleasure as I was making vector art in illustrator then moving it to photoshop to add textures, this makes so it much easier.
Drawing with apple pencil is discovering a whole new way to design & approach the way I make things. I also use procreate & they are not comparable in similar sense of how you approach design and art.
UI fits in so many things yet not cluttered like clipstudio on ipad, You need to find everything for first time, but after that it gets quick and easy.
Pay once and use forever unlike other apps I use procreate and clip studio(not using anymore), was hesitant at first but what it offers was one of a kind. Using it for a year now and happy.
Only con is slow updates, UI pack hasn’t been updated in a while. I would pay monthly for these updates, just don’t price it ridiculously in countries like India

Hey I just purchased this app today and now this is not working . Every time I open any eps or ai file it do not open keeps loading and after sometime And after sometime the apps automatically shuts down . It is very frustrating and I don’t even call this app a professional working app . I couldn’t work anymore and my clients went away. Never download purchase this app, zero ratings .

It's the best out there. Almost eveything is perfect. It does exactly what you want. Just a small problem for me which most likely wouldn't be a problem for you, the " Sanskrit 2003 " font is not working properly in the app. When I type stuff, the characters don't connect, they should connect just like when typing on a Devanagari keyboard... but other than that this app is absolutely fantastic. I hope you'll fix it soon.

I bought iPad so that I don’t have to deal with windows crashing all the time, looks like iPad isn’t any better. Feeling like wasted money. I don’t know if it is this app or what, it crashes too much and I am worried all the time and keep saving my work ever other minute so that I don’t lose it. If this is a bug please fix it.

I have been using this app for a couple of months now. After a few days, I quickly moved from Illustrator[PC] to Designer[iPad] mostly for the sake of convenience, and portability [note that I don’t do Graphic Design professionally, but the problems I have pointed out is fairly common]. I was glad that Designer turned out to be a very viable alternative for Illustrator, at least for my use cases. But, I have come across a couple of fundamental issues that is making me to switch back.
STORAGE ISSUE:
There’s a bug in the app that takes over a lot of space on my iPad’s local storage. Out of 64GB, Designer took over 10GB of space, which makes no sense, since my project files weighs only 150MB. This bug is at least 3 years old, according to their forum posts and yet it hasn’t been fixed, which is disappointing. The only possible solution is to uninstall. And if you choose to uninstall, you have to add all the fonts again upon reinstalling, also you lose the projects you have stored locally. So backup your saves to your iCloud before performing reinstallation.
Something similar to these issues do exist on Illustrator, but you do have the option to clear the cache(which is what I’m assuming taking over my iPad storage).
This personally is a dealbreaker for me, and I really hope the developers can fix it.
CRASHES:
The app crashes often, especially after I install a new font, after continuously using it for a few hours, or even while just switch fonts. In some occasions I have lost progress, even after I hit save.

The main things like bleed and margins don’t work,. Been a year on forum after the review was written. Team Been sleeping since then ? What about those who had an emergency and the only method was this app and they’re let down because of the teams competency ? Great care for the customers you have here.

This is a great app for vector graphics design. The app in the iPad Pro (10.5 inch) with Apple Pencil (2017) works seamless. There was not even a single lag or a bug. I was drawing vector graphics and illustrations for web UI design. Very much better than Adobe Illustrator for iPad on Cost and functionality wise. I am glad I got Affinity Designer for my UI design. Thank You for all who made this app possible 😀.

Blend mode crash

Just open any jpeg picture ( you may open the KING OF SOJOKU, picture ) and open the file and click on Layer option, then beneath opacity , called BLEND MODE CRASHES, every time you click on it. It would even not show any blend mode. Off course it does work fine with created graphics but not with the jpeg picture or TRY WITH the SOJOKU picture, Buddhist one that comes within Designer. It's great app but
1 less star is because there is no paint, pencil line smoothness option, it should be as like in illustrator or on Graphic by Autodesk, They should have option to what level of smoothness we want in brush.
Another star less is because I hope you should have ai export feature as well, so that We can do rest editing there too with same single strokes.

Thank you good guys at Serif for making this groundbreaking app for iPad. I am going to ditch Adobe Illustrator for this. The gestures are top of the world and intuitive, making it much easier while making illustrations.
Just one issue, I cannot download sample projects. Each time I try to download it says an unknown error occurred.
Also just curious to know if this app can handle heavy projects on iPad 6th gen.
