I think the newest update contains some problems. During the video call, the total app freezes for sometime like 10-20 seconds including this side and that side..it resumes and after a couple of minutes it freezes again and so on. The only option when it freezes which i got is to close the app..not even cut the call button shows up. Pls look through.

This is one app which has absolutely broken all records of bad made apps. The calls be it incoming or outgoing, can’t be placed properly. When I try to receive the call it goes on showing me that it’s trying to connect with the other person. Whereas the person has already received the call. Always it’s been showing me that incoming video or audio call is trying to get connected but is unable to do so for many times. Absolute disappointment for me and my partner. I used to love Google duo as it was so easy to talk to friends and family from other country without using any VPN. Being in Middle east where whatsapp calls are restricted, google duo used to be my saviour. I am unable to receive photos and videos send to me via duo. A notification appears on the screen that a message has been received but when I click on the notification, there isn’t any message. I also confirmed from sender whether he or she has sent a message. It appears there is a bug in the app that doesn’t allow the photos and videos to be displayed in the app. Also, history doesn’t show any messages received. There isn’t any problem in calling, calling function works fine. I need help so that I can receive images and videos( All permissions have been give to the app in the setting)

I don’t know about others, but in case of me, I can say that this app is really helpful. My parents are going to school, as they are govt. teachers, and I have to be alone at home. I don’t even have a phone. I only have an iPad. Only because of this app, I am able to talk to my parents through duo calling.

Unless you're the type who's circle is full of apple users and you use Facetime by default....this is the go to video calling app for personal use.
It's better than WhatsApp and easier to use than the likes of Skype and zoom, the app is simple and comes with a nice clean UI. The video quality is clean and works surprisingly well on relatively patchy connections which is probably the most important thing in India.
The one problem I keep facing is the random camera jitter / blur when I switch to the back camera rendering it effectively useless during video calls. I've checked and confirmed that this is NOT a hardware issue. Fix this and you're golden. Cheers!

My use of DUO is v frequent for calls with friends and family, it works quite well.
I regularly use duo to learn music online from my teacher. Classical music requires a tanapura or harmonium playing in the background. However, when my teacher sings and plays the instrument at the same time, DUO goes awry- the person at the other end can either hear the instrument sound or the vocal, never both together. Can this be rectified with any settings, or is this an engineering gap?
Also DUO usually works well for 30 mins then the call quality drops, not sure if that is attributed to the network though

Duo is no doubt an amazing VoIP app. Duo automatically optimises the quality based on the network conditions but as a downside it really hogs your battery!
It takes up a whopping 49% for 40mins of audio call according to the battery stats on iOS 14. It seriously takes a toll on your battery life. If you use a phone with a smaller capacity battery would suggest you to go for a different application and save yourself the pain.

Found a bug on duo and same was reported by many of my friends after ending a call on duo and getting on a video call on other application (Whatsapp,..) the conversation have been heard on other application even if I have cancelled the call and close the app, Is not like they can hear my side of the conversation but they can hear other side’s conversation as well And even after uninstalling the google duo application I’m still showing online and on call in the group.
I don’t need to know when someone contact is now on Duo, please!

Great app, and I want to keep it installed on my phone and make calls to people through Duo, integrates well with by google Home. Yes, here comes the big “but”. But, in a world where we are constantly notified of unimportant things on the phone, Google, I would love it if you please give me the option to stop notifying me when some contact of mine, “Amy is now on Duo! Say hello with a video call”. No, thank you! If I don't want that notification, I have to unfortunately disable notifications which would also stop me getting notifications of incoming calls, making the app worthless.

Firstly there needs to be remove people from the group option everytime i need to add someone instead of someone who isnt in duo it forces me to create new group instead of helping me adjust the same cannot remove unwanted/non responding users.
Secondly there is a bug if a person rejoins duo but i have added him to group before he rejoins then the person wont be able to see the group it shows “ group doesn’t exist “.

Every time I use my iPhone 7 Plus for video chat using duo, it gets super hot around the back camera side, which in turns makes iPhone super laggy.
I’m bit concerned about this behaviour of your app, so finally decided to uninstalling it though I love it so much.
Btw, I have never faced such case with WhatsApp video call / Skype / Teams etc.

Even after reinstallation the problem continues. There no such problem in other phones I’m using.

The video quality is great and everything 7/10 times but the phone gets hot, like fire hot during extended sessions. Please fix that issue because I didn't have that with the earlier versions.

Have a good network connection, Google duo delivered unprecedented quality calls.
The voice quality is pristine & the video quality is fairly acceptable.
The only downsides that I noticed is that you’ll not be notified loud enough of someone is calling you. Also, if you have a poor network, the calling experience can be frustrating.

Everything is ok with this app video quality and everything is perfect but if we talk continuously Mobile is getting to much hot like it will get burst out in the hand only so extreme level of hot it become please kindly update in iOS will be better for us thanks and battery getting to low

When something becomes ubiquitous, it tends to lose its uniqueness and complexity same goes for video calling apps. But Google Duo is a combination of user friendly & clarity . I am amazed by it’s quality of the video. It’s fabulous!!
For it distance is just a word. Thumbs up for GD.

Great application for international video calling but I’m surprised that it’s not user friendly even though its from google.
Whenever a call drops you have to close the message window to make another call. And the app is extremely slow compare to 1-2 months.
I suggest to bring the earlier features than current updated ones.

The call quality is incomparable to any others. And definitely the best so far.
And also the interface is pretty handy.
The only issues that really need help is the way the battery life death in a single call.
Just 30 mins into the call and my phone is on 20% from a 90%.
The phone heats up and literally makes to hard to hold onto.
That’s the only thing I have a complaint abt.
I make international calls too and it’s pretty smooth. Without VPN it’s much easier to handle.
So yeah.
Please check into the problem. Cuz I’ve suggested this app to a lot of my friends.
I hear echo of my own voice during video call

From the day, I have installed it on my phone it came with a bug, I always hear echo of my own voice during video call and using my iPhone speaker. There is no issue when using FaceTime, WhatsApp or Skype. I have waited for long, every time a new update came I installed hoping the update would have taken care of the bug, but not so. So I had to uninstall and install again and again . I used the in application feedback to reach out to google but no help there. Please have a good look and resolve the issue.

I keep on moving from one place to another on account of professional engagement. While being away from family, only way out to burst your stress is to clear your heart while seeing them face to face. Old application I used was not receptive, visual were blurred, voice was unclear however Duo has truly helped me to bring my family closer to me.
You have become that part of our family which can never be apart.

Awesome app with crystal clear sound and visuals. The only thing which needs to be change is the battery drainage. It actually drains the battery more faster than any other similar apps but better than those apps apart from the battery drainage issue which can be fixed I believe.

Undoubtedly this app offers amazing clarity but it sacrifices 2 extremely important factors.
Me being from the uae, in order to download/update it I need to be connected to a VPN without it there's no way I can do anything with the app.
Secondly, I can't talk directly from the device for even 10 mins the battery heats up like there no today and majorly for this reason I switched back to Skype.
And vpn is a big mistake in order to make calls.
If Google finds a solution to these things and brings a clean update this would be the best calling app ever. So cheers hoping for refinements and network resolutions

Hi im unable to download the app now as it keeps on downloading for a while and then pop up says unable to download this issue happened since the last update when i tried to update it it was not downloading so i had to delete the app and since then im trying to download and facing the above issue. Someone please help with the solution to fix this.

From last one month I am using watsapp video call to see my daughter but every time I faced problem like blur video I thought it’s a wifi/data connection problem but later I installing Google Duo app I found the best app there is no blur in video call in 3G also ..thanks a lot

Its not working properly in my iphone 7 after updating to IOS 11.
I am facing volume problem in this, as i am unable to slow down the volume .
I want you to please fix it as its better among all apps,i want it to be the best without facing any kind of bugs which directly leads to downfall in rating of this app.
