What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results.

Gboard Tamil voice typing is not working on iOS 16, I’m using iPhone 13 and Gboard was working well with Tamil voice typing but all of a sudden it doesn’t work. I found out if I turn on faceid for WhatsApp it stopped working. If faceid is disabled then it is working. Google team please check the feature and make it work even when the faceid is enabled on WhatsApp.

The Gboard is practical, has all that I need and is really helpful.
It does show bugs quite often but I can live with it because that it translates real time and it’s easy to share GIFs and stickers. I’m using an iPhone 13 running iOS 15.5

I’ve installed it multiple times. Uninstalled it only after knowing that Kannada is not supported just yet.
Keyboard as such works wonderfully. I didn’t find it useful any more than iOS keyboard if not multiple languages.
Come to think of it, it’s a request for iOS devs to include a phonetic keyboard for Kannada 😁

One of the mixer keyboards on iOS hampered by the lack of development dedication.
Suggestions: have a dynamic keyboard theme which adapts based on the background on which the keyboard overlays
Remove the settings icon and the emoji button next to the space bar, or atleast give users the option to disable it. iOS on its own has a globe key below the keyboard for people who use different keyboards and the apple emoji keyboard
Why cant se just slide the period button to expose the optional keys like Microsoft SwiftKey offers, instead of holding the period key for it to show the alternative keys .
These minornchanges can make the overall user experience far better.

Update: 20-Jan-2022 / The keyboard has started behaving strange. Whenever I am trying to go to emojis, it just goes back to keyboard screen. Also, gif search and other screens are not popping up nicely.

I like how Google provides way better language input options for so many "non popular" languages too, which iOS keyboard lacks. There are only 2 concerns right now:
1) Please add an option to disable emoji button completely as I don't use them and it takes unnecessary place on my tiny iPhone 7.
2) I like how iOS keyboard can act as a touchpad to move cursor on long pressing anywhere, Gboard only supports it on spacebar and also not as smoothly as iOS. Please make it similar to one on iOS keyboard.

Yesterday I updated my phone to iOS 15.2, after that when I am opening Gboard to type, I am able to use it just for typing, but when I tap on the emoji section to use an emoji or go to the GIF section using it, it doesn't allow me to do so and the keyboard appears again. After tapping twice or thrice on it, the system changes the keyboard to the default iPhone's keyboard.
I tried uninstalling and the re-installing, which helped for like 5-7 minutes, and then again the same thing started happening.
Now I am forced to use grammarly keyboard for emojis. GIF I still can't use.
Fix this Google. ASAP. Please.
Issues regarding voice typing in Marathi language.

I don’t know if voice typing is working with other languages in Gboard or not but I am definitely facing problem in Marathi language.

Why does the mic keep crashing while doing voice typing (dictation), when I try to speak something. That is so frustrating. It works only after it is crashed a couple of times. But when it works, the accuracy of English, German and Hindi language is great. There is a huge issue in accuracy of Hindi language on the Apple voice typing that is why I installed your app but your mic issue is too much frustrating. As far as Apple voice typing is concerned it’s Mic is great, even if you install Microsoft SwiftKey it’s Mic is superb.

Gboard may close automatically while im typing something.. And have to use the default iOS keyboard while i cant use with comfort. The main thing is with the keyboard theme. I cant use this keyboard without keyborders. If i go to Gboard settings and remove key borders, it would be removed first time opening and next time, again the border comes. Need this fix !

Prediction is much better than Swiftkey. But rooms for improvement are: cursor movement/pointing by long pressing the space key. Swiftkey does a better job here providing full keyboard for cursor pointing. Long pressing of any key should be much more fluent to change characters like Swiftkey/Flesky. Look can be little bit of elegant but okay if not. For many contextual typing backspace button can act as one character delete for first press and full word delete for second press.
This review is for iPhones running iOS12 or older.

Don't know what is up with google, they are taking apps that were working perfectly fine and screwing it up.
Word Prediction and auto correct messes up big time, it automatically changed "You ask" to "I ask", "You know" to "I know", "You want" to "I want" and so on.
Google maps was working perfectly fine about 2 months back, but now the route prediction has messes up so much, takes cars on roads where bikes also don’t fit.

Google keyboard has made it sooo much easier for me to type long texts, trust me I type a lot!! Especially with that draw trying tool!!! Mind boggling!! Also the dictionary!! How I can send link in secs! Songs! Waooow hats off google!! Also the "search for the emoji/sticker/gif/ and what ever :) this is called" is so convenient!! Each time mic icon is pressed, it opens Gboard app and returns to the original app I use. Many times it doesn't start to listen. I have to repeatedly press the mic icon to make it start listening. Many times I had to choose another keyboard and then switch back to Gboard to make things work.
This is very annoying. Please fix this problem ASAP.

Gboard has got everything you din even asked for... Very easy to use Gsearch anything anywer in the keyboard. Smiley predictor was all I wanted, saved my hell lot of patience n time. Swipe works fantastically! Another best advantage for me was my native language.. n guess what my native language keyboard works in swipe too.. I mean that is amazing🙌!!

This is the keyboard that we always wanted thank you google never touching iOS keyboard again ⌨️...However think the emoji suggestions needs little bit of more working not as accurate as iOS keyboard but I am sure it will get there.
Encountered another issue that gboard opens up and keeps on minimizing and maximizing in sizing and flickers. Which makes it unable to type. Please fix it.

It’s really convenient using gboard for my office and personal purposes. Each and every documents you write always end very professional and amazing! I’m so relied on Gboard now that it’s almost impossible to write my documents without Gboard. Thanks a lot Gboard!!🙌
Language Missing plus Keyboard hanging

The description clearly mentions a list of languages in which 'Malayalam' is also mentioned, however when I go to add the language the keyboard doesn't have the 'Malayalam’ option. Could you please check and rectify?
Also while typing out this message the keyboard repeatedly started hanging and the cursor automatically went back to the beginning of the message whenever I tried to continue writing after a certain point. Had to switch to default iPhone keyboard to finish writing the review. There's no consistency in performance.

Using it on iOS 13.5.1 currently. This is a recent problem. Gboard keeps refreshing/relaunching every 3 seconds, becomes unresponsive for 1 second and then the cycle repeats. It has become virtually impossible to type with Gboard. Even with quickly glide typing I can only get three words in before Gboard relatives and becomes inactive as said before. Please check.
Otherwise Gboard is brilliant. Have been using it for years.

I absolutely love GBoard but recently on my iPhone XR iOS 13.5.1 the keyboards automotically gets minimised and opens up again by itself again and again which makes it impossible to type. I have to use the default apple keyboard in the meantime which i really don’t like. All my word suggestions are at google keyboard. Also can you consider the option to save the word suggestions that keyboard learns to save it on cloud. Because i switch device and I couldn’t swipe type anymore in my native language. Thanks!

Towards the beginning I was quite satisfied with the Gboard and was even fascinated by the translation feature but now after some time it has started to glitch. Everytime the Gboard is in operation it disappears and reappears in an instant like a restart. I cannot send emojis anymore nor am I being able to use the translation feature. I believe Google will not let me down and help me out . Thanks

1. The lower case letters can be made a little big.
2. When system is in dark mode, the alphabet panel is having dark background but the number panel is having white background.
3. After moving the cursor using space key, top and bottom rows changes to light background but the middle row still remains dark.
4. The haptic feedback is having very little delay.

If i set any theme on the keyboard after few hours it started showing lag ... And then bring anger and then bring me to uninstall the g board then i cant find any other keyboard as g board so i install this again and then you know the drill xD lagging then anger n then uninstall n repeat ,i request my bois from Google , i love you all do something bhenchaud.

This is my sincere request and appeal to google to add support for Kannada language. This is serious problem for us and because of this constraint there are possibilities of uninstalling and using other apps. So genuinely consider this and request you to give an update with Kannada language support. Thank you. I love the app , it’s simple interactive and easy.

the keyboard is really good. like, really good. it's just that, there are a few glitches that can easily be fixed but aren't. for example, with dar mkode on, the key pop-up is still white. and, I'm using the iPhone XR, and I feel that the cog/ gear can be removed when other keyboards aren't in use and the emoji symbol can be moved to the bottom left like apple does it to make the user experience better.

Great application but some time get stuck. Some time it behave very badly if you want to type it will get you made you to press back many time after that it will work properly. Word prediction is correct even if you type few alphabet it will show you and auto corrections also work great

This app which was doing great earlier but with the introduction of iOS 13 , it is now getting worse specially voice input feature. 95% of of time it does not work on iPhone as well as on my iPad 5 ( running on iOS 13). Please remove this bug. Neither it works on Google docs nor on Google notes app. Taping the assistant button opens the Gboard app repeatedly. However Apple voice assistant is working great on both apps. But Google hindi voice assistant is fast, accurate and much better than Apple assistant. So please remove this bug ASAP.

I’ve been on this for as long as I remember using iPhone but lately (mostly in Dec’19), the keyboard has started behaving erratic and buggy on most of my apple devices.
1. Randomly disappears while typing and then I’m forced to use the stock keyboard.
2. In some apps, it just starts lagging randomly as if it’s some sort of a motor that heats up on aggressive usage.
3. The typo errors I have on gnoses are now crossing a threshold majorly because the swipe isn’t as accurate sometimes and that back button is so dang close to the letter ‘Like that almost everyone I press it, I end up deleting a letter and then the whole word changes. That design needs some change for sure.
So until you guys fix these issues, I’ll be away from this keyboard; of course the only reason I might still come back would be majorly because of the add-ons that this keyboard has.

Gboard is one of the best keyboards out there. I feel it's definitely more functional thaan SwiftKey. But I have to keep going back to SwiftKey frequently because Gboard suddenly becomes super laggy on my iPhone 7+ after a few minutes. The zoomed widgets of the keys I've pressed previously continue to remain on screen and subsequent taps are very very slowly recognized making the keyboard unusable. Unlike other apps, it isn't even intuitive to kill and reopen since it's a keyboard plug-in. Getting back to gboard after cycling through the available keyboards doesn't help either. The issue remains.

It's definitely the best keyboard among all. I just want to draw attention of the developers to one small glitch. While typing in multi language format if I write something in English n then try to switch to Bengali to write something then it doesn't pickup the Bengali words n keep showing the English alternatives. Requesting you to just fix this one.

On the brighter side, this keyboard provides a whole lot of features thatakes typing very convenient. On the other hand I think there are still stability issues when the keyboard is launched when typing is required. If we set to the dark theme, the keyboard shows a light tan and then darkens. The launch speed is also considerably slower. This keyboard would be one of the finest, if it fixed the stability issues.

I like the gboard instead of iOS keyboard in every aspect. The most important word perfection and auto corrections were pathetic on iOS keyboard that it failed 95% of the time to predict the desired word. With Google keyboard that issue is completely resolved. Thank you Google. Just screen rotation in some apps need to be fixed. In many apps it doesn't rotate in landscape mode.

Gboard used to look blurry on iOS 10 and iOS 11. In iOS 12 this is very well fixed! Thanks Google! Inbuilt search is super handy and it's hard to go back once you get used to it. Word suggestions are also great but that's not surprising considering Google arguably perhaps has best ML and AI tech in the world.
Just one additional feature request: please add the option of force touch to move cursor within the text box similar to stock keyboard of iOS. That's the only thing, the force touch is being implemented properly and is appreciated by people. After using stock keyboard, because of lack of only this feature, Gboard seems incomplete in checking off all the right boxes.
Hope the geniuses at Google acknowledge this and update the app with force touch feature!

It seems like Voice Typing has gone back by a decade after the updates following iOS 12. First, it takes quite some time to start "listening" after dillydallying across screens to change the keypad to voice mode. Second, its comprehension of the words has gone way off the mark. Third, quite frequently, it doesn't type in anything even as it listens completely.
Even the swipe-typing often gets the wrong words.
Feels so unlike a Google product!! I’m keeping away from Gboard until (hopefully) an update fixes them.
Improve on basics instead of making the keyboard fancy!

Dear GOOGLE,
Stop adding features such as camera gifs etc. that very few people use! Add features that are useful instead of features that are just fancy. Learn from iOS keyboard that has such an excellent next word prediction, all around 3D Touch keyboard. Gboard can move cursors only sideways. There's no way to hide the language icon that also shows settings. Can't you just integrate that with some other key? The keyboard gets stuck in emoji mode and the little "x" doesn't work! I hate to say that I'm so addicted to Gboard ONLY because of swipe. I would uninstall it in a minute if the Apple stock keyboard had swipe.

Whenever I open WhatsApp chat or any other apps, my stock keyboard comes first and later we need to change to set the gboard.
If I open a chat on WhatsApp, I need to tap the globe icon to change to gboard. And when the another chat is opened, the stock keyboard comes first and again I need to switch to gboard and looks like they cache these things so that this will set for each chats on WhatsApp.
Its the same for rest of the apps. Its so annoying everytime. Not sure google will consider this feedback, but this is what actually happening in my iPhone 7 plus with latest iOS version.

Next word prediction issue

Since I started to use gboard it was so good. Next word suggestions were so useful. But after some updates I'm unable to save new words and couldn't find next word suggestions for my saved words. I'm facing this problem for more than 6 months. I tend to use English as well as my local language for typing. But lately when I type a new word it is not saving in "my dictionary" for glide typing nor it shows up in next word suggestions. The real reason I started to use gboard is for glide typing for my dictionary words but since it is not effective as earlier, do I really have to use this app??
Troubleshooting I've done: cleared my dictionary multiple times and reinstalled app several times but no luck.

You have done good job as compared to the apple default keyboard. I am using your keyboard for many years I got everything which I needed but we want something more comfortable.
1. Your keyboard has no opinion to customize number as row and column which is most handy feature you are requested to add it.
2.Menu search results is good but word is not added after clicking on it.

Now this new swipw up for numbers is just AMAZING! Giving us the iPad keyboard features.
I want the same feature for the characters as well. So that every key has a swipe up for special character feature..

When composing new message in the default message app, while entering recipient number the keyboard changes to default ios keyboard in iPhone SE ios 10.3.2. and when key changed to lower case the letters displayed on keys are too small can u make it the size of default ios, letters are too small to reat type.
