Like most of the jio apps, this app is pathetic in its own unique ways. I just don’t understand why channels cannot be played smoothly without any interruptions despite having the best network internet wifi connectivity on my device. I reinstalled Jio Tv multiple times yet facing the same issue again and again “a random error has occurred” whoever is reading this, please do not download this app ever!

This app is pretty basic. Video quality is BAD, no subtitles options. JIO gives sony liv and zee5 subscription with certain recharge plans. So i did an annual plan recharge. Only after doing it i found out i have to watch zee5 and sony liv contents through this app.
So i tried watching this movie “everything everyone all at once” which has a lot of mandarin dialogues. Since this app doesn't provide subtitles i can't watch the movie.
Just make it possible yo watch it in the sony live and zee5 app jio team. I really want to uninstall this pathetic app as soon as possible

Whenever playing any video normally.. without fast forwarding it.. always after 1 or 2 mins playback video loops and starts from the beginning automatically or sometimes random video starts automatically..
don't know what causing it but what fixes this issue for next 1 min atleast while watching is just pause the video select video quality either auto or low.. then video starts where it was stopped working.. have to do this again and again for fixing and watching whole video completely..

Talking from the iPhone 14 pro max perspective, whenever the notification center or the control centre is brought down from the above while watching a content it automatically triggers the vertical bars of the brightness and sound respectively not disappearing automatically stays there until you exit the program and re enter. Generally we watch daily soaps as per our convenience on Moble TV. So what is a logic behind showing so many advertisements apart from channel advertisements? And if you once miss the original timing then half of the show gets over. U can’t watch full episode. For example, Daily soap namly Pushpa Impossible, if u miss original time ie 9.30 pm then u can’t watch the full episode. It is worst to see so many glitches in the app even after updating it.
If you open the previous show, it starts repeating from the start. So that again and again you have to close the channel and restart it and 30sec add is permanent.
I have no idea what Jio’s IT team is doing.

Whats the benefit of live tv when there is delay of more than 30 to 45 secs. Also ads comes when we change the channel which waste the content view feels, giving ads on break period is justified but while watching the shows the ads comes in between thats not tolerable, atleast don't give the ads while the show is running when there is tv ads push your ads then, we would manage that.

Though it streams live TV but this is a worst experience to watch live TV on Jio TV App. It always hangs up and stop streaming, every time you have to either close the application or change the channel again Start streaming. This is very annoying and sometimes loses the interest to watch. Kindly work on it and there is one more improvement needed, every time I have to select the language and the category it never starts where I left.

Only way to login to the app is using OTP sent to jio number. I have a jio sim which I am using via jio dongle. How do you expect a person using dongle to receive an OTP? When I checked with customer care they ask me to put the sim in my phone, get the OTP and then switch back to dongle. I mean why should I go through hassle of switching back and forth. Atleast keep a provision for OTP to be sent to registered email address.

It is a great app but unavailable for Macbooks not having M1 chip. I understand for gaming purpose, you have made this a prerequisite but at least allow us to watch TV. While watching a game from the Sony channel, Jio shows its own ads and then the shift to the main broadcast is often problematic. We are left to see a blank screen. So you have to again click on the channel to watch the game. Feels like throwing away Jio. And their ads are so pathetic. Bingo ad keeps repeating. This leads to a horrible experience with Jio tv. You cannot take your customers for granted. They will have an impact on you. Get your ethics right. This is loose.

Yes I rated it 1 star because it has no limit to ads , man you must be tripping when you use this app .You be watching cricket player gets out unofficial ads pops up an over finish same ads pops out once the ad finish the ad restarts man you tripping on this ads . And ads pops out almost 30-40 times during a 90 minutes football game . 40x30 =1200 seconds which gives 20 minutes of live football or has been ruined by this ads . When india is batting I am unable to see the match . Every second it’s buffering. I checked it’s internet issue or any other . But I can confirm internet working very fast but always buffering. I feel when so many people watching in jio tv app load increasing on app that’s the reason unable to see. Please fix it otherwise waste this app

Live TV stops in the middle of use

This is a good app, but whenever I try to watch live TV, it always buffers after going on fine for 30 seconds from start. This is the only issue I’m facing, and this is now a very bad thing in Jio TV, this problem increased a lot these days. This is my request to Reliance Jio Digital to solve this problem. Whenever the problem will be solved, I’ll edit the review and give more stars...

Have been trying to watch highlights of a match since a long time but whenever i try the highlights start from a point which is not imp to watch and highlights are too long without any option of forwarding the video and the video gets stuck in between all the time if i decide to watch the full highlight as the app doesn't leave any option but still it doesn't let me due to hanging in between problem

Jio has launched jio phone and in advertisement it showed that JioTV can be seen on TV using a special cable. Lot of market captured but till this has not materialised and and also no casting feature so that people can see on big screen. What is the use. How much you can see in this small screen.

Initially it was a good platform for viewing live cricket matches on sony ten hd and non-hd but since when sony have started taking subscription charges for sony liv app, jio tv is not able to load any matches on ten HD while their advertisements are shown properly when you open their channel and then after that it loads forever. As if they deliberately want your to subscribe to sony liv like they did with jio music when they handed it over to saavn so now we have to listen to ads. Pathetic.

Problem is that Cartoon Network isn’t on . Request is that I need more English Channel

I think people will love to have more English Channels like star world that aren’t available on JioTV yet .

Issue with JIO sim

Hi ,
As of now I am using JIO SIM. I took new dongle and sim. But JIO executives came to my office and told it will activate by eod. But it was not activated hence I have reached JIO support.
This is pathetic support. The tat was 48 hours. Now it’s almost 3 days no one tried to call or resolve my case. Multiple times I tied to contacting the support. The standard answer is the other team will call us.
Please don’t buy, if u buy u won’t get support. If my subscription gets end I will PORT to other network providers

Suggestion: Please collaborate with chromecast.
Bug: While using smart view (screen mirroring) from Samsung phone to tv the orange buffering icon keeps on in the app. Note, I have 50 plus mbps speed so bandwidth is not the issue.

Once there was a time when i used to love this app but now I hate it so many bugs and no updates there’s no need to show next programme in so many seconds and it doesn’t continue the remaining part for example if the show timing id 9-930 and the last part continues till 9:35 then the remaining 5 minutes its very difficult to watch because it has many bugs please solve this issue otherwise lots of features and coverage i like the app appart from that one bug..

I m happy to watching Jio tv with my user I’d , buy now I m unable to see any channel in full screen . All channels are stretched in small format like old featured phones pls sort out this problems bye the way few month before I m able to see all this channels. Really bad experience with Jio tv

When we stream SONY, it says “casting not available for this channel” while it works preety good In my samsung device.!.
Will give 5 star when it works on my iphone.!.

Poor connection

As every Jio customer I face the problem of poor connection at all places I go. Regarding this I had raised complaints several times. But the constant answer from the service ppl would be this “ we are working on improving the connectivity on your area” if that is the case, I would suggest Jio to work all over the city as the connection is bad everywhere I go. Kindly resolve this otherwise many would be moving to Vodafone.

I bought jio no sec time again in 2018 oct and the first month was working fantastic. But as soon as I recharged it for 3 months issue started. Then I bought jio wifi modem. Again 1st month was ok but soon it’s data got exhausted and now wifi network also does works that good anymore . All Tele com now have very bad network .

Not able to change the quality if the video

Update lost one main functionality

Previously there is a swipe option to switch from one channel to other while play in landscape mode. But later this update, this functionality has been lost. JIO could you possibly retain the functionality to better performance and also sometimes the video is getting stopped while viewing. Other wise full rated.

Great App

This app has changed the TV viewing, we can watch the program according to our convenience as per our schedule. Almost the TV has become idle in the house as most of the programs are being watched on iPad / smartphones. Really a very useful app.

Video Crop Option

Most channels with 4:3 format are opened in stretched 16:9 format. It spoils viewings experience on iPad. Its a 4:3 device and watching 16:9 content on this device is not good experience because it creates huge black borders (letter box) around video. Please fix those channels. Same problem applies on jio phone. (Example: all sony network non HD channels are stretched). HD channels are there to watch in 16:9 format anyway.
Also, If we could have video crop option and aspect ratio option like vlc player has, then we can use it to convert any regular 16:9 video into 4:3 and view it in full screen.

Give us an option to play the videos in full screen in iPhone X , all other video playing apps have updated this either on double touch or stretch with two fingers.
Please put the scrubbing timeline for videos a little bit higher in landscape mode, currently it conflicts with the multitasking navigation with iphone x and scrubbing to any point in video is almost near to impossible in jiotv

Not a Hotstar/Prime Video Replacement

‘Skip sign in’ button doesn’t work. Nothing happens when I tap on it. I can’t sign in using my Jio ID because I’ve never been able to create an account due to technical issues at Jio’s end, which is a completely different story. So the SIM sign in is my only option, but the button doesn’t work.
Edit: I have gotten the app to work (after hours is struggle), but it fails to perfectly serve my purposes. The UI is unintuitive and ugly. Live TV keeps freezing every few minutes, and sometimes the stream cannot even be started. I’ve missed a few important goals in World Cup matches because of this. Changing the video quality sets the stream back by a few to several seconds (in live sports, every second is important).
I recommend you use this app for live TV only if you do not have the required TV channel or alternative app.

For a bundled app, the choice and features offered is much appreciated. However, it is irritating to come across channels that are of poor resolution or not in the correct ratio. This is true of most of the English news channels in SD. Also, the latest update had further cluttered an already poorly designed and sluggish interface.

The app UI might not be the best you have seen but the services and functionality is definitely the best out there. Considering that this is a free app (for all Jio users) the number of live channels it features is just unbelievable. Only few channels are missing (like the ones which we need Hotstar for). It would have been perfect if we would have got even those channels. But its still an amazing app and a truly TV app.

AirPlay Not Supported

The Service is really fantastic, with so many channels that you won’t need a Set Top box anymore. But the app intentionally blocks using of AirPlay/Casting. I believe coz Jio wants to launch their Set Top box separately. The Watch On TV is even available on JioPhone as an exclusive feature and they’re marketing it a lot.
I will be willing to pay more for the fantastic service if the AirPlay support is added. Also an Apple TV App would be fantastic, but till then AirPlay will do the job.
