The app existed in my previous phone and I wrote all my journals while using that phone. The app was logged in with my email address and when I lost the phone, I had installed the same app in my new phone. I had used the same credentials to login and all the data was gone.

I am Premium subscriber of DayOne , I just found my app was not updated for how long I am not sure. And despite I should be able to Apple Pencil for writing or drawing unfortunately the expensive payment is not enough to avail all features. My address is recorded wrong though I tried many times to correct it by without success, weather data is something I avail from other app .
Definitely the application is really excellent and that why I pay subscription for Premium but, I actually thought it will be provided but now I am given up my iPad Pro version 13.1.3 I have not been able to use Apple Pencil.

whats the use of paying for this aap when u r forcing your old customers to get subscription? Now this app is all about money. Previously it was about memories and sharing. And now you have made it all about money. Simple things are also available if i do subscription. After making people pay $4.99 for years u are now forcing them to do subscription also. What a waste of such a good app👍🏻

I’m one among who purchased the older version. Was sticking to the Plus version until now. Now with Apple Pencil support for ipad I decided to subscribe premium.
It’s a seamless experience using Dayone from day one! You can’t go wrong with this.

One suggestion is that some journals don't need date and time stamp, just some notes to note. For example if we are planning for a vacation in Vacation Journal we just need pages to write down the things that we plan. No neee of the entries and tags. Just some space to fill. I hope you guys consider this.

To keep something as simple as “dark mode” a paid feature is ridiculous. I should’ve been included in the free version.
I was on of those early adopters who paid for the app before they came up with the “subscribe” schemes. Thus, I have a “plus” account. But even then, features are held back. No shame.
Features should be tiered. Those who supported you in your early days and paid money to buy your app must at least get some of the new features.
Please review your capitalist pricing schemes.

But then there should also be an option for changing fonts. There are quite a few fonts that would remarkably change the writing and reading experience.

So I’ve been using the app for the last 5 years. I’ve been through it all. I’ve religiously written every single day for an entire year only to loose all of it when some glitch happened when Day One introduced it’s own sync. Nevertheless I stuck with it. I love writing on it. But it seems to be missing a few key evolutionary features. One that I miss the most is a Dark Mode. I’m sure there are a lot of people like me who write in the night. It’s the last thing I do before I go to bed. A dark more would be awesome. Also I use my iPad Pro to write a lot. It would be nice if I could just swipe away the elements on the left so that all I’m seeing is the typing window. It’s there on the Mac. Sadly missing on the iPad app. Hopefully they fix this. Especially considering Bear has all of these and more.

If you are into journaling or capturing thoughts, then this is hands down the best app. ‘Been using it since 2011 from the time the app was launched and the quality has always been top notch. This is a prime example of an app that makes you glad you have an Apple device.
(The app stutters if you are on old phones - 6 and before - and running iOS 11 though. But, I think it’s the iOS fault than the app’s).

The app is great and very useful. I have been using this app since a month and i found one thing that really concerns the security of the journals.
My Day One journal is protected with a passcode, so when i first open the app, the main screen which shows all my journal entries is visible when i begin to type my pass key.
This is a major security issue, atleast for me,please do something.
I suggest you make homepage where only basic app functions such as viewing journals, today entry,etc are shown. This will atleast hide the main journal page.

I have started writing this journal end 2014. Stopped in June 2016 as my 450+entries got duplicated to 12000+ entries. Inspite of my sincere time spent to reach HELP the support system did not solve my problem
After almost Gap of one year I have deleted the duplicates myself one by one which took long time.
Now there are no duplicates and hope it won't make me mad again.
But for this issue this is very best app I am enjoying and helpful to relive the memories

Location recorded or marked in activity are showing wrong places, it just shows me at 20-25 km away from the point i exactly was. Every Time creating a entry from activity feed i have to mark my location using apple maps & creating a fake entry.
Please fix the issue, or integrate Google Maps.

I feel your premium services are quite expensive.
For example : Microsoft provides 5TB Storage Cloud + MS Office For Five MacBooks @ Just Rs. 460/- Per Month.
Also the utility MS Office provides is exceptional as compared to the utility of a personal diary.
Please consider my suggestion and remove the premium services and put "pay once for lifetime."
Or may he reduce the rates drastically.
