I have to say that I downloaded a few of these on the strength if my love for Red Dwarf and I watched them and didn't enjoy any. However 6 months on I had nothing else to watch whilst stuck on a train so I gave them another go and I am so glad that I did, they are just rare gems of uncluttered, unscripted reality and with such a breadth of people I choose from there must truly be something for everyone

I have purchased the Tim vine carpool podcast. The opening titles play for 15 seconds then i have a black screen for the rest of the podcast. Very disappointed.

Previouslyvery entertaining, did what it said on the tin. The feed now, however appears to contain a random selection of videos, some foreign language, none related to Robert Llewellyn.

Am I the only one to not like the new look to the shows. The changes to the format since going to Dave tv has not improved the show, but it's now a poorer show. Bring back the old style show Robert please...

What a top podcast & brilliant idea. Never watched it on "Dave" & only found the podcast by accident. Downloaded 15 episodes to my iPhone at first, now can't wait for the next to come out. Rob is a cool bloke, likes a laugh & is very down to earth. Keep it up!

Robert brings us a revolutionary concept in broadcasting. His easy-going manner puts his passengers at ease and always makes for an entertaining interview. I dare you not to become a carpooler today!

What a fantastic idea this was by Bobbyllew. Free to watch, relaxed, chat happy guests, comedic, warm host and no (well not many) plugs for upcoming books, movies etc.
No criticism at all of what is a pure delight to watch.
Love it!

A brilliantly simple idea, executed superbly. I got into the podcast after watching the series on Dave and I think the idea of interesting people simply chatting is a brilliant one.
All too often these days, interviews are contrived situations merely to sell the interviewee's latest book / record / film, or to show off how clever the interviewer is when in reality, all they want to do is ask lots of clever questions to get the interviewee to say what they want them to say. Llewellyn's style is a refreshing change and I wholly recommend this podcast.
Now, just to wait for all 83 episodes to download...

Nice idea, brilliantly done!

Bob Llewelyn is a guy you can imagine being as nice in person as he appears on screen. His guests warm to him because this is a chat (in the truest meaning of the word) show. 2 people just chatting, free-form, funny and insightful. Particularly loved the Phil Jupitus and Mitch Benn episodes.
More please!

Genius idea!

Firstly, @Franjelous - you miss the point. If this was in a studio with no distractions and perfect sound it would be just another chat show.
Anyway, what a brilliant idea. Wait for the copycats...

As a late arrival at carpool, I am avidly catching up and I admit, getting slightly addicted. The interview in a car works so well, yes sometimes the sound is slightly less than perfect but only to the purists. The whole situations creates a relaxed atmosphere meaning the interviewees talk openly and extremely interestingly. I love it and hope it will be just as successful on Dave. And Bobby Lewellyn is such a bloody nice bloke!

and as you have been Thanks for making Carpool...

Great subjects but the whole thing would be far better were it not recorded in a car! The sound quality is awful, Robert looks pretty gormless when he's looking in the mirror and he clearly can't pay proper attention to driving in London at the same time as trying to keep up with his guests. Why not do it somewhere quieter and with fewer distractions?

Best interview style out there

Interesting and entertaining choice of guests/passengers and always asks the right questions and let's the guest speak. More of a natural conversation than the type of interview you see on TV.

Easily worth 5 stars!

Rob really presents and interacts with mucho gusto and the list of people interviewed is fabulous! Loving the scientific and skeptical elements especially - brian cox / rebecca watson etc. All in all the only video podcast I consider worth filling my iPhones memory with! Please don't do like loadsa others and suddenly stop doing em! Hungry for carpool!
Update as of 17th march 2010...spent all day watching people i'd never heard of with rob today whilst in hospital...the sheer range of subject matter and brilliance of how being in the car transforms an interview under robs guidance is a tribute to just what a great guy rob is. If you do read these rob, pat yourself on the back. I'm hooked and actually would pay to watch! It's that absorbing!

This is worth more than 5. I came across this by chance and I am so glad I did, Robert is great you almost feel like your there with him in the car. I look forward to every new one. I haven downloaded all the older ones and love to watch all the time.

Please don't mix Audio and Video in the same podcast

Really excellent series, but I'm knocking two stars off, since Robert has started mixing Audio podcasts in with the Video - and it just becomes a real pain to sync across to the iPod.
Please put the audio in its own podcast and leave this as just video!

I was a late starter with Carpool but have now caught up with the back catalogue, a great format which always entertains and educates. Can we put in requests for guests? If so I'd like to see you give Gordon Murray a lift and discuss his T.25 city car. Keep up the great work.

This is the perfect antidote to chat shows where the guests are simply there for someone for the host to take the mickey out of and to show off.
The interviews are interesting, the guests relaxed and the host charming.

TV doesn't produce low-fi content any more, so podcasts can step up to the mark. Here, right here, is the first really impressive exemplar of this idea. Llewellyn's small and perfectly formed idea gives you a little, meaty nugget of a hidden world. It's quirky, brilliantly human, and just bloody lubberly. Lisa Rogers' story about badgers: a typical CarPool moment. Thanks Rob!
