Fixed, Manipulated Matches
At one time you are winning and the next time you start losing continuously, I bet 80 percent of the player IDs on Lichess are fake bots but there’s no action on them. Chess.com has less fake players as compared to Lichess. The 2 stars are for the good simple gameplay and controls otherwise in terms of ranking/match making with players I say the game seems fixed and would award 0 stars.

The app is quite bland in appearance with a bit sophisticated interface. It has an organised layout altogether.
There is a lot of connectivity issues and although the developer may blame latency it is not really an excuse. Ping is a thing in this app. Even with really good connection the ping takes time to settle which affects all your fast format games such as bullet and blitz. Mostly you are losing rating because of latency or high ping. It’s something that can be fixed as it doesn’t seem to be the issue of internet connection as a whole.
The interface of analysis is really bad. It’s hard to get by and needs a lot of improvement. Especially navigating after a game to the analysis board is very sophisticated. Presentation needs a lot of improvement on the game review.
Finally, Lichess is one of the best places to find everything you need for chess which is a charity. Therefore the positives outweigh the negatives.

Free and great learning tools but I could not find my elo rating, also takes a lot of time to start match. In Board editor for Game analysis, I could locate the option to set whether black or white player to move , It by default always makes white to move first, irritating and useless

If I wait for few minutes then , game is closed saying - In your game history, you have several games where you clearly have intentionally lost the game. Attempts to artificially manipulate your own or someone else's rating are unacceptable.
If this behaviour continues to happen, your account will be restricted, I’m waiting for my move but it’s not allowing me to play

I’m a big lichess fan but the app is horrible. It crashes as soon as I attempt to open it. I’m on iOS 18.2.1
Also it’s sad to see the app ignored by developers as its last update was 2 years ago. Requesting team to fix this bug ASAP and also to launch new features like study which is available on website.

They manipulate the allocated time if you are not a member . I was winning and had 10 seconds and opponent had just 1 sec. All of sudden network jammed or i left out with no time left. Similarly they personally attack you in messages. Most games i lost were time manipulations. I know the dame tactic by other chess hosts . Sad they have no life than manipulation. Seems like everyone wants to play speed to run down the time not real play. A lame chess app with many mental issues ..

Worst chess app most of the cheaters plays
Worst experience some of cheating but this app not doing anything also some of YouTubers promoting this app to play chess i don't know even they are cheating. I was playing on this from 6 months and compare to the chess.com which is far better than this. If someone cheating in chess.com they ban and give the points who is victim. But in this app there is no reporting option i found in the corner of the app no one can see that. Thats why this app is cheaters app.

Not so good
The game would have been awesome but at the end when I’m winning all of a sudden there’s no network and I lose the game this happened to me lot of times and that's the reason I even uninstalled the game few months ago but even after months the same problem till the time you guys fix this issue my rating will be 1 star But otherwise the game is really good. I also remember why is rating of small players so high whenever I play a match with 1000+ ranked players they seemed like they didn’t know how to play chess properly but still their rating would be 1000+ change this ASAP.
Now there is even bigger problem if I sleep when I’m playing the game the screen doesn’t go off and ruins my phone battery. I’d never want to play in lichess again.

Lots of bugs and poor response time
There is no good chess app. I thought this would be good one but after playing for about 5-6 months I could say there are bugs in this too and on top of it even after playing the entire game the app makes you stand out side of few minutes.

Too slow and laggy
Using ios latest version. The app is really slow at loading and even finding opponents. Always shows reconnecting whenever I try to find a game!! Very irritating!!

Overall, it’s very good. But there are some things I wish they improve. For one, please support keyboard input, esp. when we play on the iPad with keyboard attached. Also, I always have lag when using the app, while there’s no noticeable lag when using the browser.

I have lots of connection issues even though my phone has full bars and good wifi signal. And sometimes when I disconnect I just lose the game even though I’m winning. And what’s worse is that I get put in a time out for disconnecting… this has happened recently only twice but otherwise it’s a great app for chess + free+ you can learn the basics for free. My main issue is that lot of players are using chess engines and I know this because they suddenly play meaningless computer moves in mid game when losing and suddenly all the pieces start coming together and they win. and the rating is below 1400 not even above 1500.

Cannot Access Clubs and you can’t play tournaments as well as web.
1. I am not able to access my clubs. 2. I was playing a tournament in the app and I was waiting for my game to come in an arena tournament, it took a long time so I tried doing in the web and it showed I already lost three games. It was a rated too. Next I got a message from lichess that I am Sandbagging.

App needs improvement, but Lichess is the best chess game platform in the world
I really wish I could give it 5 stars, but there are still a few minor issues (connectivity issues, no variants available, tough to open studies from the app, etc.)
In fact, using Lichess on your mobile browser is a better experience.
All in all, I love Lichess — beautiful interface, strong engine analysis, and great collaborative tools for learning.

With due respect I am a big fan of Lichess. I love the way you guys have designed the desktop version but many of those features aren’t on the mobile app. I guess most of the players play games on mobile phones usually or even on macbook via the app. I think it would be better to include every feature in the app as well

Very Good App
Lichess is a free app by which I play chess online. Thanks to lichess, I am able to practice chess via online even in this COVID 19 situation. One thing I like in this app is that there are no ads and in other apps when they show unwanted ads I feel frustrated and as lichess has no ads it is cool for me. Some bugs
I am pretty happy with the lichens experience but there are some Minos bugs in the apps like the rapid rabbit icon just merge into 10. Also while playing chess the menu also have some icons merged really like the app as it provides really good chess experience. I am currently using iPad 7 with iPad os 14

Many times a glitch comes while playing
When I play my pawn two blocks the opponent’s pawn kill my pawn in free but my pawn was not in diagonal line of his pawn and his pawn moves one block in that move only but still this game is fantastic. Please tell the reason of the glitch. Thanks

Great app, still room for improvement exists.
Lichess app provides a clean and adequate experience with no ads and hidden charges, which is one of its biggest pros. But still, there are just too many cheaters in the game. I just hope that Lichess improves their engine cheat detection program, and players stop playing dishonestly for some imaginary internet chess points.

I am been using this app quiet long period and definitely one of best Apps in store in field of chess. I think recently it got updated, and post same I see issue with sending comments in IOS. I.e once text typed , send button or text is not visible. Would be gr8 if you guys can fix it.

Doesn’t respect system sounds
Inherent programming flaw with the app. It runs on my ringer volume rather than media volume. So if I want to reduce volume I need to reduce phone ringer and end up missing calls later. Other than that, it’s awesome.

Game was good. Dont know what happens to intenet connectivity
While i was playing a game, it showed a low signal, and i lost 9 seconds per move in a 3 minute game. After the game i checked my connection, and saw 50 mbps download speed 10 mbps upload speed. Dont know what happened in game, first thought it was a bug and it repeated in the next few games too. I dont want to feel bad at chess just because of your server problem. The game used to be great before this, and too bad i have to goto another app despite liking this app's interface, players and all.
PS: I lost 32 points continuously and i fell to 1680s. This made me feel mad, as it took me some weeks to get into 1700s and the points are gone just like that.
