I have mostly had a very good experience with big basket - they mostly adhere to the delivery timings and I like their organic products. But I had a horrible experience and now I am left wondering if I should order again from here or not.. I had ordered eggs and had noticed a smell immediately after receiving it. Even the packaging of the eggs wasn’t very neat and it looked a little dirty. Unfortunately I didn’t give it too much thought and a few days later realized that there was an infestation of maggot worms in the packaging and the eggs. I had eaten a few of the eggs.. and I just hope that my family and I are going to be safe! It was a nightmare to see those maggots, and to get rid of them.
I am quite disappointed with this. My family and I were left disturbed looking at it & it was hard to get rid of it. We had to take multiple precautions in the kitchen to make sure that there isn’t an infestation. Will get to know that soon!

I ordered groceries from big basket and choose a slot of 8:00pm-11:00pm as given by their app, but got a call from delivery guy that it’s late and he needs to go home, on humanitarian grounds i agreed that please deliver it in a the morning latest by 8:00am.
After calling several times in morning he didn’t answer and my order shifted for Wednesday without my concern and they removed stuff from my inventory without prior notice.
I called the customer care to seek help but instead of giving me any solution or taking any action for this false promise the customer cate executives(sohail and jayant) try to put me on hold which as you can know costed me another ₹50.
For you guys this can be a small thing but for me this is a big thing because there is no flour at my house because of this blunder and no one in this company is ready to take the responsibility.

Delivery boy marked my order as delivered without delivering it. It was a prepaid order so, I have no option left apart from contacting their customer support. It turns out customer support of BigBasket is even more pathetic then their delivery experience. My call to their call center was disconnected 4 times in 20 seconds, without even someone listening my problem. And the support team on chat is too eager to close it. They will say we have to close the chat to arrange the call. And the callback will never come. I gave up and after 30 mins of marking the order as delivered order finally arrived and the customer support do reach out to me after 2 hours. This was bbnow order promised to be delivered in 30 mins and I wasted an hour chasing the support and delivery team. Would never ever order from bbnow again. For instant delivery, order from Swiggy or Zepto they have much better delivery and support system in place

Usability : Poor search options. You can’t search things you want so easily Support : When you are with support and wish you report a problem. Imagine you’ve clicked a picture and you have it in your gallery the app will make sure you don’t upload that picture. It’ll sync and show only pictures from your gallery synced with your app while you installed. This is the most sick of all. Review : You want to rate a product for its quality. Now you’ve give the product 1 star you decide you want to give it 2 stars “Hurray! You can” but if you ever decide to change your mind to give it 1 star trust me you can’t! The app will do everything possible to not let you edit from the same place you edited. But if you are someone that plays around the app quite well you can find the option to edit hidden under bunch of irrelevant options. Problems = your app

I have been a user of the BigBasket App since sometime, hence I am writing this review after repeatedly experiencing this one practice of theirs. As soon as you place an order with them, specially for fruits and vegetables, the quantity gets modified later. This happens, by default, after every order containing fruits and vegetables. I do not understand why this happens on every occasion. An email is sent sometime after you place the order, informing the modified quantity and modified value, since there is a change in the “weight” of the items. I fail to comprehend the fact that I’m I am ordering 100 or 200 grams of a particular fruit or vegetable, how can there be a sudden change in the quantity and weight of the item? Do they not use a weighing scale? And how is it possible that every single time, and I mean it, every single time, there is a modification in the weight and value of the items!?!? This points towards some serious malpractices and if this is not rectified on time, BigBasket will lose customers for sure, because it does not take long for anybody to notice such things. Highly disappointed.

Update available quantities frequently

It will be very helpful if the available quantities are mentioned. What happens now is that we select an item and when we proceed for placing order, a message pops up saying the item isn’t available. The entire process of selecting a replacement is then repeated, and God forbid if the replacement is out of stock as well.
Sometimes, it is even worse; just before the order is out for delivery, a message is received that some of the items cannot be delivered since they are not available. This is very inconvenient because we cannot even order for a replacement item. The platform will be perfect if these flaws were fixed.

This has been a regular occurrence for the past few orders. Everytime i place an order, your delivery team always reschedules it due to delivery failure. This time as well, the delivery partner never called or reached my society, but I still got a message that they tried contacting me n i was unavailable. I am an office goer, yet every time they cancel 7:30 pm slot due to their incompetency n then they reschedule it for during the day when office goers can not attend an order.
I used to be a regular customer of big basket. But i dropped out of using its service due to this very reason. Your delivery partners are incapable & unskilled that this has been a regular occurrence for the past few orders. I came back to big basket after almost a year in the hope that you guys might have improved or trained your delivery partner. But i guess its a long way for big basket to match up to the competition.

I’ve never see such a bad customer service and obviously I could say it’s an app where we will not get any help. I purchased many things and in 70% of the instances I got Stale/Damaged/Roten products. I found insects inside the product package. I’ve tried contacting and also raising a return or exchange for the product but the app was not responding properly and I was not able to click anywhere. This happened for 4 days continuously and I did all the basic TS and also checked my internet connection. Everything was working properly but no way to raise return/exchange😢. On the fifth day when I’m trying to raise the return request, the exchange window was closed and no option to raise a request. Now here the best part is App is working properly but no return request option is there but when I was trying to raise a request within the return window, app was not letting me do that. I request everyone to start using a different platform because this might happen with anyone.

I subscribed to Big Basket feeling happy that I will associate with a brand funded by the Tatas but like all nice dreams, you wake up to a nasty reality! They will deliver wrong items but don’t you dare ask for a refund for a wrong product delivered! The chat bots (given human names but all sleep on the job) will ask you to do the impossible like - send a snapshot of the products MRP from their app! So we have to do the job for them while these little Maharajas twiddle their thumbs at their desks! And how do you send the snapshot when the ‘attachment’ icon next to the chat box does not respond at all? So the little Maharajas sitting at their desks get impatient and then suddenly disconnect the chat saying that ‘you have not responded’! Just because you were away for a couple of minutes while earlier they made you wait 6-8 minutes while they ‘investigated’ the issue! These little Maharajas at big basket think that since you ordered groceries that means you must be an unemployed guy sitting at home and smoking dope, so let’s waste time of the customer! So what if he or she is patronising our company, let’s give them a true Indian service!
Oh! After I was disconnected for the fourth time on the chat, I decided my time would be worth writing this review than pursue a refund of INR 109! They can use this money to fund purchase of Air India!

I must say I’m very disappointed with Bigbasket (BB). I just moved to india and started to use all the apps available on the market such as Swiggy, Zepto, Fresh to Home, Dunzo, Amazon…and I must say that BB is way behind.
-Absolutely no customer service…no answer on the chat and nobody to answer over the phone
-Impossible to change items on an existing order you must cancel your all order and place a new one…and loose the delivery slot that was booked
-Delivery slots quite late after placing an order + delivery happened way after the slot that was booked
-No proper tracking of your order and delivery

-Very bad pricing/customer relation strategy: I placed my order, selected my items at a specific price, paid online….and turns out BB decided to revise its prices after I placed my order and did the payment. They increased the price of one item and now I’ve a negative balance on my BB wallet…what kind of company do that?!!!and it’s not about the amount itself 0,19INR!!…just the all idea of destroying your customer relation for 0,19INR!!does it make sense on an order of 1400INR?! Once you agree to sell a product at a certain price and accept a payment you don’t revise the price afterwards.
In this very competitive world of online grocery shopping, BB needs to improve a lot, your brand value will not save you from the service offer from your competitors

Had a great experience to shopping groceries , vegetables, cosmetics and daily need items from BigBasket. They’re giving fresh with returnable items that can be returned at the time of order delivery. And the amounts will be credited back to your wallet or your source account from where you paid. Everything is good here. Specially for those who can’t visit grocery or vegetable stores to purchase all these.
There’re some cons they should work on which to improve itself:
1. Their another App named ‘BB Daily’ is not reachable to everyone. If a customer lives in a Builders Flat, even in a pos area, they can’t use the feature of daily subscription which is only provided by ‘BB Daily’. As per my thinking, this is not a good policy for a successful business owner. If they want to actually grow, they should make the same policy for everyone. It should be changed and the same facility should be provided to everyone who don’t live in Apartments or Kothi.
2. Their branches are everywhere in India except Bihar. This is also not good. People from Bihar also needs such facilities but they can’t. You should work on this too.
Rest their service is very good in comparison with other marketplaces. Keep it up!!!

BB has the most pathetic and incompetent customer service in this industry… If your order is delayed, which is quite often almost 1 out of 3 will be delayed, you only have the option to chat… that too with a useless bot. No matter what you write it will keep telling you order is delayed… again and again. And to add to your frustration they dont have any call center wherein you can call… sure they do mention a toll-free number which is…. wait it’s hilarious… NOT FREE. the only way to connect to a customer service agent, cancel your order…. And miraculously they will call you back within minutes. BIGBASKET IS A SCAM.

Big basket has very bad service. I missed the delivery guy call and the products were not delivered. The customer service person called and was saying if you miss the call we ll check the delivery guys location so that if that person can deliver again in that time frame. The delivery person was not available nearby then the customer service person said it ll get delivered in later slot.
I took the slot of evening 6-8 pm and asked the customer service that if I can prepone the slot if I m available early. Customer service person said it’s not possible to prepone the delivery as they can’t prepone the slot.
This is ridiculous as in this technology world even orders get canceled and rebooked and big basket doesn’t have option to change the time slot once booked. Very bad on company which is a part of Tata enterprise.
Thank you big basket for such a horrible experience. Will never ever buy from you in future.

Recent bad service experience

Recently I have been facing really bad service with BIG BASKET.
Firstly the items in cart show as available till you checkout and on the day of delivery it is missing with item not available in inventory.
Secondly, the service team is really inefficient. Got a call from customer service who super slow in confirming my address (15mins call) to which they have been delivering to close to 10 months now.
Thirdly, At the end of the above call I am being notified that the order date is changed to 2 days later which should have been delivered within a couple of hours as per the invoicegenerated during checkout.
To the complain raised, I Got a call back at really odd hours of the day. (Late night) nobody stated my concern and just said they will take care of it
Today I faced another issue
By mistake once the order is at the checkout payment and you realise the address is incorrect and cancel the payment, the order gets placed with cash on delivery which I don’t choose and there is no option to change the address for that order. This is basically a flaw in the app. Again when I tried to inform this to customer service it took 10 mins to raise this issue has the agent kept repeating their own answer without providing any solution.

App works with the functionality it is intended for however it is still not completely in line with iOS. One of the cool feature of iOS is swiping from leftmost screen will take us to previous page. It works in all the app I have seen but not in big basket.
In this, swiping it from left will open the menu drawer which is kinda outdated. Thus it requires two hands to go back.
Secondly the search button when pressed again doesn’t clear the previously searched text, so if I have to search many items I have to manually clear each text to search new one.
Thirdly, offers got a sweet spot in bottom drawer whereas for my account I have to move to Home Screen. This design is also outdated. Account cart home search should be always visible in the app irrespective where we are.

Return facility is very difficult and sometimes when have to ask customer service representative for manual return request makes the process stressful. Overall good but need hassle free return service and should able to cancel or change item if order is not ready for ship or packed.
Price wise is good, overall descent app. It’s strange but they charge of 0.03,0.01 weight difference which sounds pathetic practice as every-time what you order the final amount always differs due to this. There should some variance allowed even street hawkers give 10-50 gm extra without charging additional but here you charge for even 0.01 gm weight difference. Looks weird and not customer friendly.

If a no star rating was possible this app deserves it . I placed an order , slot was only available for a 1 week later ,something that’s understandable in this pandemic situation. But on the day of delivery nothing came , apparently the order was cancelled. We didn’t do it from our side. It was a cancellation from their side yet they didn’t have the decency to let us know the order was cancelled. The least they cud have done was provide refund on time . But everytime the customer service personnel let’s me know the amount will be transferred to my account within 48 hrs . Today after many chats with the customer service and many 48 hrs later, actually 3 weeks after the order was placed , there is still no refund from their side.
So disappointed in the service of this app . This is not the only app I have used for grocery deliveries but this definitely is the worst possible app in its sector.
Please do the necessary to speed up my refund, afterall it’s the least u cud do after blocking out my hard earned money these 3 weeks.

I usually buy my stuff from Grofers but then I downloaded big basket and I started liking it a bit , also purchased a bbstar membership until the worst online purchase experience happened .
I order every week and I pay online usually but this time I did cod , and order came , I said I want to gpay now as I have spend the cash I had , so I simply google paid for the order at the time of delivery , it got deducted out my account successfully and after sometime the delivery boy came again stating that the payment failed either you have to make the payment again or return the products right now .i said I won’t do either of them I recieved the product in return of the payment I made I showed the screenshot he wasn’t ready to go without snatching the order from me although I paid for it . I tried to connect to costumer service they advised me to pay again if because the payment got failed from there end . I was so disappointed with all this ,it just ruined my fun of shopping online .

I tried doing the payment using UPI but I did not received any link! Then there was a pop up saying that if there is any problem with the payment it will be converted to COD but after half day it is showing there is no COD service. I tried cancelling the order but then it is showing that they Are awaiting for the confirmation of payment! But then I tried re-ordering the same but again it was showing the slots are full! Now I don’t know if the order is going to come or not!
Really disappointed with their service! And also the prices are excessively high. I would not recommend this app anyone! :(

I have been using the big basket app for 5 years and see it improving every year. Their customer response team is mostly good. My recent experience with them was very good. They delivered a wrong product in the right carton and I complained a few weeks later. It was taken back no questions asked though it was a high value item and my complaint was late. I was very impressed. My only request is that loyal customers like me should get preference in delivery. During the lockdown period it’s difficult to get a quick slot as it’s all on a first come first served basis. But most of these new customers will abandon big basket once they are able to visit their favourite nearby grocery store. Customers like me are wholly dependent on big basket. I can’t imagine what I will do without them as I hate shopping in actual stores.

From customer front - I was very skeptic in the initial days because of the quality of the products(fresh foods & groceries) . There were hiccups and things changed slowly . Now I can actually trust that bigbasket will give a quality product and they keep up that trust every single time. The delivery guys are well trained and nice to see their attitude towards customers . Once good impression & loyalty arises then it won’t change easily . Good quality and reasonable pricing - bigbasket at its best . I am a happy customer 🙂

Before lockdown they were delivering good now post lockdown the online sale has increased and they have totally stopped delivering to my area...... these days for the past 2-3 month it says slot not available .. I have 6 month membership paid but who cares if I can’t order .... once accidentally I could get a slot last week and could place a prepaid order ... remember prepaid order... I got a call from executive saying your address land mark is not correct so I gave a landmark to them and they told they cannot update landmark now from backend and they will have to cancel the order from backend (remember they can cancel order from backend but not update landmarks ) seems to be fishie and stupid and finally they cancelled it and told me to place again with correct landmark ... wow now I am not able to place order and the order was cancelled and amount credit to wallet ... I escalated to customer care they agreed to refund the money. And told my area is restricted area so cannot deliver any more ... irony is Flipkart, grofers , Spencer’s they all deliver here but not big basket ... because they have now become big after lockdown with huge business so they don’t have time for all customers !!

I have been shopping from big Basket since few months. The quality of food and veggies is really good. Their customer service is pathetic. The delivery boys are very rude and arrogant. Once I paid online and That payment was failed so delivery boy asked me for cash on delivery I told him that I will pay by using app and he said no I will just accept cash and because of lock down I did not have enough cash so he did not deliver and he went. There is a common error in big basket app that The order is confirmed before the payment is done and sometimes even when payment is Deducted from account it gets failed and then they ask for cash on delivery. They are taking money beforehand and then they’re taking cash on delivery as well, I am totally unsure about them returning the money which is taken initially from bank account. I really got a very bad experience.

I have placed order for several items few days back. 2 items were missed in the supplies and delivery staff didn’t mention about it before we questioned about it. He said that those 2 items are not available in their warehouse on that day and they will supply those later. Also he asked me to inform about it to customer service over phone. When I spoke to customer service, she mentioned that they have credited the amount towards missed items in to my bigbasket wallet. I asked her to credit the related amount to my card through which I have originally made payment instead of crediting to wallet but she said it’s not possible. Also she suggested to order those missed items again using same amount in wallet. I tried to order Again and to my surprise I found that I need to pay delivery charges in extra as the amount towards these 2 items is not much. It’s really pathetic shopping experience to me with Bigbasket

Here are the reasons for pointing out why BB has pathetic service:
1. Items received from BB godown, named as Fresho, are pathetic. Cucumbers have fungus and are rotten. Avocados are also of bad qualities (taste is kadwa instead of being tasteless and they have keede inside them).
Mausambi are of the size of a lemon. I mean seriously. What should I do with them?
2. I ordered a return from the iOS App but even after showing successfully done for placing return order I had to call the customer service to get the response on return order and I was informed to write thus mail. I mean leave the service even the Mobile app is pathetic.
3. And service agents are so un-trained that on telling the issue instead of providing a resolution and being courteous all he said was sir I am sorry for inconvenience AND I am happy that you called. I mean instead of saying that I will get the items exchanged immediately or will get you a coupon or cashback or will process the refund asap etc something to make the experience better. He TELLS me to write an email for quicker response. Hahaha. I really haven’t seen worst UX in an app and worst service than this.
4. Big basket instant app has ₹120 stuck in the wallet as they have removed the machine from society and this wallet is useless in BB Daily and BB main app. I mean shouldn’t the wallet be common across all apps for same account? Please fire the BA & designers of these apps.

If you order 5 items worth INR 1000 total, you will receive 4 of those items and the cost of the 5th item will not be refunded to your bank account. It will be put into the BB wallet. To get that money, you will need to spend it on BB. Since it’ll only be INR ~250, you will need to pay shipping. So if you decide to instead use that balance and add more items and pay for them, the same process repeats. This way, they indefinitely keep some of your money or force you to pay shipping each time they decide to steal your money. Do not use this app. It is owned and run by thieves. Learn from my loss. Want an alternative? Try Grofers or a near by shop, in other words, non thieving businesses.
Response to devs:
Nothing to email about, ask your business to stop forcing the refund into the BB wallet. Send refunds to the payment method. In other words, don’t defraud people. I’m pretty sure this is illegal, unless it’s hidden deep in the fine print. Either way, it’s scummy, but then nothing more to expect from thieves (not you the devs, but the business guys).

I placed an order and was suppose to receive it the next day. But, the next day evening I got a call from the customer support team asking whether the order was delivered or not. I said I didn’t receive any delivery. Then, support team said that the delivery boy called my registered no but the call was unanswered whereas I did it even receive a call from the delivery boy. If the delivery boy couldn’t connect my call, he is having my address with google location. Then what is the use of having this pin point location. Customer support has asked me to place another order for next day. If this orders placing thing goes on when would I receive the delivery for which I was waiting from past two days. I didn’t think it’s a positive thing to place an order again. I requested to cancel my order from support team as they couldn’t provide any assistance in speedy delivery of the items. I was told that it would take 7 to 9 business days to refund my amount. I said please do that as early as possible and Iam gonna Deactivate my account for the response I received. They couldn’t even deserve a single star.

Most unreliable online service in Chennai. Out of five orders given by me four they canceled making me to wait for a whole day even beyond 10:00 pm, because their messages show it will be delivered. The tactics of their operation is you select from so called 18k items & put in your basket with a clear in stock display only to throw out your most essential items while finalising for advance bill pay which is a must. Then while packing again items will be dropped to keep money in the wallet & in his pocket. My Rs100/- was kept in his pocket for many months. Though I sent three e-mails all delivered, to send me back the money caught by him, silence only, no reply no action. If any body wants to get items reliably, transparent and prompt delivery of quality items in time with challenging prices go for Grofers, Reliance JioMart. Transparent, they will send e-mail updates, will respond in their displayed customer care email iDs. Don’t get trapped with these frauds in their sweet coated conversations.
Just now I got message at 10:42pm that they cancelled my fifth order- this is the greatest corona service from bigbasket in Chennai.

Big Basket is a life saver!

Big Basket app works like a charm, well almost. There are issues with product search as certain products don’t show up in the search result, while I can see them in the previous order item lists and can view the product page from there. Also, the search engine and product information should be updated with regional names of the products/items, especially veggies, so that it will be easier for people to search using the regional or colloquial names.
Still, BB is one of the best in the industry with fast response and action taken time on customer complaints, at least for me.
One more improvement that can be done is providing a voluntary option for the customers where in they can opt-in for brand replacement if the selected brand of an item is not available at the time of packaging. Like, if I have ordered one particular brand of unsalted butter and at the packaging, if that brand is not available then instead of cancelling and refunding that item, you go for the next brand which is closest/exact to the price of the brand which I selected. This can help out customers to not go out of stock of an item, even when their preferred brand is not what they have got.

These guys are the worst developers!! They have carefully implemented not to notify the customers when their customer service representative messages you back! And later we’ve to wait for more than 24 hrs to get back !!They also have not included the notifications whenever the slot is available. And before the developer writes their generic replies, I have turned on all notifications for BB
Edit (after expected ‘copy-paste’ response from developers): The issue is I DON’T get NOTIFIED even if the slots are OPEN! Let me repeat that again as you guys seem to be ‘slower than usual’ in understanding what customer is saying, “ I DON’T get NOTIFIED even if the slots are OPEN!” I have to constantly open the app and check !!
Edit 2 (after 3rd May response): The problem is with YOUR NOTIFICATION system ! There have been slots available when I open the app! But probably you guys don’t understand ‘English’ or maybe you guys should go back to kindergarten to understand building blocks of language as all this has been too difficult for you to interpret.

This is really rediculous, pathetic service from Big Basket, it has been updated that Items will be delivered in between 9:00 am to 11:00 AM On Tuesday 21st April, I worked from home in a complete night shift ,10:00- 07:00 am , I didn’t sleep and pushed myself till 12:30 with the hope items will be delivered .. during the time I tried reaching customer care sever time which is not answered at all, chat process was not responding and I caught up in sleep at 12:30 pm and I was in a deep sleep bcoz over night work is always harmful. Delivery partner reached near my location at 1:30 pm and phone is answered as I was caught up in a deep sleep ... but here is most imp thing is
Customer doesn’t have contact options , customer date number is really worst as no one responds..
Point is not about delivery will be late but if you didn’t make any option available to contact customer then it’s going to cost customer only

Force Selling of own products

The are forcing you to buy things that are made by the big basket they will not give you slots until u add products made by big basket . And in many cases they are essential products are removed and in there place bb products are used .
Today they CANCELLED MY orders and added money to my BB wallet. And when I am trying to reorder only products available are from BB . They never contacted me even once Before cancelling my order even though I have PAYED FOR it already . I was supposed to receive my order around 2.30

I have been using big basket for 4 years now and I can’t imagine going back to the time before BB. Through my pregnancy, watching my baby grow and now during the testing times of Covid-19, I absolutely swear by them. The dedication and efficiency of their entire team- be it the courteous delivery staff, the ever helpful customer service or the sequential and easy to navigate features of the app and have to say, the widest variety of items- they are simply the best!
The other day I couldn’t attend to their delivery call and missed the delivery time, but this really helpful delivery person was kind enough to come back later to deliver the items on requesting them, as we had not stocked up at-all for these testing times.
There is a reason why they are the best, can’t recommend enough!!!!

Extremely unreliable with poor customer communication

I realize that during this time of panic buying, a lot of items would be out of stock and that’s totally understandable. But what’s important here is proper and timely communication about that to customer. I had placed order for 16 essentials and after 3 days was my scheduled delivery in the morning. On the scheduled day and time delivery guy shows up with 8 items and tells others are unavailable and that I was informed about that. I check my phone to see a msg at 3am in the morning on the scheduled delivery day - 3 days after my placing order and 6 hours before delivery. This would mean either your inventory management system is extremely poor, which I am surprised as your entire business depends on that or your customer communication very poor. Had that been communicated in time, I would have made alternate arrangements. Anyways, not going to rely on you again on future.

Voucher issue on mobile app - disappointed

I used BigBasket Mobile app to place the order. I did not get any option when I was performing "CHECKOUT" to apply voucher. I went to payment option and chose KOTAK with assumption that KOTAKNOV1 will be applied on this bill because I did not find anywhere in the transaction flow to apply voucher before payment processing.
Later I found I was charged complete 5006 INR on my account and did not get 10% instant cashback. Later when I tried to apply voucher by logging on my laptop, it says "Cannot apply voucher on paid orders". I thought I will cancel and re-order using my laptop. But when I cancel I get a message which says "You will incur a cancellation charge". (no clue how much you will charge as well, this is very creepy). This taking in circles makes me feel the system on Mobile app is designed to take user on a ride and rob him/her of his/her rightful claim to applicable discounts.
I am totally disappointed with this. Oh and one more issue - when I tried to seek support on Mobile App on this voucher issue- the chat window does not allow me to type at all (I use iPhone 11). Flawed - again.
I have been using Bigbasket from quite sometime and order groceries and produce to my parents who are old and cannot go out by themselves and buy them/carry it home. Ordering in app used to be a convenient way for me to help them wherever I am.
But this voucher issue - I am very disappointed. I hope you decide to do the right thing.

I had ordered a product skin care product which was recommended to me by my doctor. The product I received had an expiry date for next month, so obviously I couldn’t keep it so I put a request for exchange of product stating the reason as ‘ product about to expire’ which was one of the options available while I was filling the exchange request. The exchange happened about 3 days after I had sent the request for exchange and this time again received the product which again has an expiration of next month. When I called the customer care for raising a request for return and initiate refund they asked my that I can get the refund in Bigbasket wallet and not in the source account. I mean what kind of service is this. It was caused a lot botheration to me. I would strongly recommend against this app. Please use some other app for your orders if you want the process to be smooth and time saving.

I placed my order one day before and got the time slot of next day 8pm to 10:30pm. I got call in the morning for address check and I confirmed my address is appropriate. I was waiting for my order and at 10:26pm they called and informed that due to address mismatch we will not be able to deliver the order. I told him that address and location both are perfect then they started apologising and informed we can deliver only after 2 days due to heavy demand.
What rubbish customer service big basket is providing for the important daily routine veggies and groceries. It is not something we can wait for 2 more days. Please team, don’t commit if you can’t deliver.

Yes!! They least bother to understand customer need and to satisfy. This is second time i am getting issues with delivery.
Once, i was waiting for them till 10. After 10 there is no customer care. No contact to Big basket. I was fool waiting for them. After 10 they give a reason and cancelled the order. If they can’t give customer service after 10 PM then they should have removed Delivery slot till 10. They should take some responsibility as whether the customer received the order before they could just go home.
Second, the slot was 7 to 8. The delivery guy have called me twice and i missed. That was a consecutive call by 7:31 and he have cancelled by 7:32. While calling the customer care. They repeat “order is been cancelled”. My delivery slot is till 8 and i called them before that. I asked them to contact delivery executive who will not be far. They said they will call me back. Called after 8 with regret. Felt cheated. Very worst customer service.

Reeeaaallyy hard to locate the customer service chat option

Overall bigbasket provides exceptional services.. their followup calls against negative feedbacks given by me at times is really something I respect.
But the chat option for customer service is buried somewhere deeeep down in the app. Once you find it and put a query they reply within seconds, but if they ask some question for which you need to check the homescreen, you’ve got to go all the way back. After that only God can help you reach back to the chat box, only to realise that the assistant has left the chat.
Then youve got to start the process alll over again.
My suggestion would be to keep an open chat somewhere on the homescreen itself so that we can easily reach and respond in time. Else, you guys are just awesome!

He said that a person will come to collect it and reordered the item on my behalf. I was supposed to get the item today but I wasn’t there at home when the delivery executive had come. So I got a call from the customer support telling that the delivery executive is at my address so I told him that I will be there after 1 hour. I asked them to give it to the security guard and that I will collect it from there. I got a message later telling that the item got delivered. I checked with the security guard and he said that the delivery executive had come to my apartment but he didn’t give any item to him. So I called the customer support again and spoke to Firoz and he promised to give a call back within 20 minutes but and I didn’t get any call back for 45 minutes. I called the customer support again and spoke to him about the issue and told that I need to talk to their superior officer. He said that he will do so and kept my call on hold for 3 minutes and then cut it off. What an amazing experience I have had! I wished there was an option for 0 star!

My recent experience of Big basket had not been very good. I am in south Patel Nagar, New Delhi , and had seamless experience in the last two years. But for the following reasons I am not liking it too much these days:
1. No express delivery options(90 min)
2. There is no location tagging on the address of customers anywhere in the system. Every time there is a new delivery agent who doesn’t know my location. And he has to call me 5-7 Times to get to the address. A simple option to tag address with gps location could really solve this issue.
3. Delivery agents are not that cordial these days. I talked to one of them, and they said that duty hours have doubled without pay hike. And that’s why a lot of agents keep leaving.
4. Fruits specially mangoes I often find rotten. I feel that shouldn’t be the case when I am paying a few extra bucks to Big basket.

This is my first order and what I got is rotten vegetables. Everything was so much rotten that the delivery boy didn’t respond to it. Cauliflower was totally rotten with bad smell. Coriander was lifeless with full of foul smell and these big basket people claim it to be fresh. It’s bloody full of very low quality vegetables. All vegetables are so much rotten and full of bad smell that I can’t keep it at home and had to throw it away. Making big stars to give ur Advertisment will not make you people successful. Worst ever delivery and worst ever quality I ever had in my life till now. Shame on you guys who are misguiding people with ads and on the other hand are playing with peoples health by supplying this dirty material. Will soon put it on Facebook and social media to show the quality that you guys deliver to people. Totally shameless... pathetic pathetic. Don’t ever order from this DIRTY BASKET..! Shame on such a brand and shame on the quality you people offer. This store is not big basket rater it’s DIRTY BASKET..!

Deliberately trying to fool customers. I placed order 2 days back and the delivery guy contacted me only once to confirm my address. He was just a society away from me and he said he couldn’t find my address and left for another location without even informing me. Then i contacted customer care and they told he cannot come now so rescheduled my order to next day morning slot and i received confirmation message that i would receive my grocery in morning slot. Next day i waited entire day but no call no word from them, infact i tried to contact them but they no response and then later last night somehow call matured to customer care and they said they misplaced order so would replace and order and get it delivered next day evening slot ! This is not enough now what they did was removed one of my item from the list without informing me ! I called them several times to get it included and they were saying its not available any more finally they added it i dont know how they managed or how they were fooling me before that! Finally today order was deliver on time and delivery guy reached my address without even calling me (dnt knw how he got my address which 2 days ago he was not able to get). Now they delivered wrong item and delivery boy was saying item is same as ordered i dont understand how these guys are running this app! So irresponsible and rude guys ! Bad experience!

Bigbasket's service in Vizag is an absolute nightmare. Everytime I place an order and choose a delivery slot, I get asked to wait for at least three days for the unavailability of certain items. Here's a tip: if an item's not available at your immediate disposal, don't mark it as such. They somehow seem to think not delivering in the stipulated time is the customer's fault, that we don't have enough 'patience'. Patience is a virtue you'll have to master if you plan on ordering from Bigbasket. Customer service is horrendous. They drone on about the same things over and over.
We buy our monthly groceries from here, and I don't think they realize how much of a hassle it can be if the order is not delivered on time. The premise of ordering from Bigbasket is to have our groceries delivered to us and save ourselves some time. What's the point of my ordering from Bigbasket if I'm going to have to wait three days for an order that was to arrive way earlier? Such tardiness can take away the model this business was based on. The service earlier was prompt, but now it has entirely gone to the dogs.

For last two days the app does not work for my location which is Delhi. After selecting all my products when I do a check out it shows error in selecting delivery option. Even after selecting continue on the pop up window it continues to show error. I have tried deleting all the items and re enter the items but error still pops up. I even tried reinstall the app to see if it helps but that even does not work. Upon contacting the customer care I was told there is similar issues registered by other customers for some time and right now there is apparently NO SOLUTION to this problem. It’s a pity that with a monthly average of 2500 INR purchase I now had to move to GROFERS because the company is too lazy to sort their technical issues. Regards Arindam Panda

Their time slots are never convince for us since you have to wait one while day for delivery. Then they have express which they say 2 hour delivery but what you need is not available for express. Multiple times received wrong orders, and today they want me to wait one more extra day for an order that they misplaced. Their standard answers are we will refund without even understanding what customer is going through and 2nd we reorder item for you but that will be available in next deliver slot which would be one full day. So you order something and wait for 2 days for a mistake by them.
How they make money by fooling us:
Adjustments in weights are charged to our wallets and then later in orders are added to the cart. Today when i ordered in 2 orders there was adjustment of 2 rs each and one was for the item they mis-delivered and then refunded. 4 rs was cut from refund instead of 2 since the item which they charged more 2 rs was refunded but app doesn’t understands this and they make money. Its like supper-market doing with prices 5.99rs and making 1 ps fir every order from 100 customers. Difference is that they cheat it refund and we will not know

Don't buy perishables

Even though this is an app and essentially a product , the services aspect is baked into it and is extremely important. The one continual issue that I have been facing at different apartments over the last 3-4 years, is that the delivery guys carry all delivery items including perishables like dairy , frozen stuff and meat much earlier than they need to. They try to make lesser trips and hence will attempt to deliver a 7:30-10 PM slot at 5 PM. If you're not at home at 5PM , it's your bad luck as the person will return hours later during your proper slot with the items that he is carrying since 4/5 PM or even earlier. And in case you're at home he will mark the order as delivered only during the correct slot so that BigBasket isn't aware that he actually delivered in the slot before. Obviously this ends up spoiling the perishables. I assume the delivery structure is incentivised towards making multiple deliveries or they hire lesser people and vans to contain costs. But this hurts the customer as consuming spoilt items is a safety issue. I have complained multiple times to BigBasket with no avail.
