Very hard to cancel auto subscriptions.
You cannot cancel the auto renew from app, and if you want to really cancel it, you have to login to their website, and navigate a tricky maze. If you are not careful , you’re back to square 1.

App showing ads like anything. If I compare with FaceBook or YouTube then both apps are much better than SonyLiv.
SonyLiv app has ads policy and they are showing ads only in paid annual subscription. For monthly subscription they don’t display ads.
I tried to review this with three types of subscription 1. Annual, 2. Monthly and 3 Free version.
I found Annual subscription is worst subscription. I tried it communicating to support and dev support but
I think they have ads policy only for annual premium subscription.

I am getting ads even after buying subscription. It’s so irritating. They give ads on all the shows. It’s feels like I haven’t purchased any subscription. The customer support service is also useless. The email id provided is also fake. No mail was delivered. Terrible experience.

When I opened Ireland v. india Match they right away shown crunchyroll fan subscription. It felt like subscription to watch the series. No other description on the screen. After paying 99 Rs they allowed to watch for few minutes and then the screen went to subscription page asked me to pay 699 rs for watching the match. Now lost 99 Rs for no benefit. I even don’t know what for this crunchyroll fan subscription is..
I think Sonyliv might already made so much money thorough this manner. As it is only 99, nobody raises a ticket. Pity you.

Phone Heating up and Battery Drain
Dear Developers
I am using SonyLIV app now from past few years and phone is IPhone 12 Pro Max updated to latest OS. I don’t have Phone heating up and battery drain issue while using other streaming app or even other app. Only when I use this SonyLIV app in around 90 minutes battery will reduce from 100% to around 25 to 30%. It’s connected to Home WiFi and not mobile data.
While using other Streaming app or other app battery from 100 to 25 or 30 % reduction will take place only after 8 to 9 hours of usage and NO Heating issues.
Please can you look into this issue.

Unacceptable Advertising Experience for Premium Subscribers
As a paying subscriber, I expect a premium viewing experience without constant interruptions. The number of unskippable advertisements during match highlights is completely unacceptable. In a highlight video of around 10 minutes, being forced to watch 4–5 unskippable ads severely disrupts the viewing experience and defeats the purpose of paying for a subscription. Subscribers should not be subjected to such intrusive advertising while accessing premium content. I request that all advertisements be removed from match highlights for paid subscribers and that the service deliver the premium experience that customers are paying for.

The experience on this app has always been average at best, but lately it has gone from bad to worse.
The number of advertisements has increased to an unreasonable level. For instance, a 15-minute football match highlights video now contains three ad breaks, and each break shows 6–8 advertisements. That means viewers are forced to sit through an excessive number of ads just to watch a short highlights clip. The constant interruptions completely break the flow of the video and make it difficult to stay engaged.
What makes this even more frustrating is that subscription prices have been steadily increasing, yet the ad experience keeps getting worse. Normally, when users pay more, they expect a better and smoother experience — not more interruptions.
The frequent ad breaks cause viewers to lose the rhythm and context of the highlights, turning what should be an exciting recap of the match into a tedious viewing experience.
Advertisements are understandable on a platform, but the current volume and frequency feel excessive and poorly thought out from a user experience perspective. If this trend continues, many users may start looking for alternative platforms.
The platform seriously needs to reconsider this approach and focus on improving the user experience rather than overwhelming viewers with ads.

Sony LIV is the worst OTT app out there, because this app has literally more ads than any other OTT app, my mind is baffled to see how many ads they show, and it’s not just on ad it’s three ads at the same time after every five minutes of watching, that’s literally so cheap of you Sony LIV team, plus the viewing experience is so bad that video quality suddenly drops from 1080p to 360p without any issues, i have a yearly subscription mainly for UFC fights, during MMA fights nobody wants the quality of the stream to decrease for no reason, but when it comes to pushing ads they don’t hesitate, if you guys only care about the money and not the quality of your product, you might as well start betting platforms or casinos cause house always wins, here we purchase something from you and we expect quality which isn’t the case in reality, If team Sony LIV have any shred of integrity kindly stop pushing so many ads and work on the quality of your product!!! and this is not just me saying it, 10’s of thousands of people have the same opinion and yet still no improvement, check on internet what people have to say about this app, Again work on the problems and start by showing less ads and work on the consistent quality of stream!!!

Poor user experience
The quality of the app is sub-par, the filters and categories are impractical and badly planned but that one can still get used to and navigate. What is most annoying is the aggressive ads that pop up every few minutes inspite of charging a decent amount of money for premium subscription. It is particularly irritating while watching live matches where they leave no chance to squeeze in not one but 2-3 ads that you have no choice even to skip. Inserting an ad at the beginning of the content would still be bearable but to have multiple of them shoved into your face every few minutes is extremely annoying and ruins the experience completely. Just having diverse content isn’t enough, you also have the responsibility of giving a good user experience. You are primarily an OTT platform and not an advertising platform that also happens to have OTT content, right?

I am extremely surprised by how poor the viewing experience is on a paid subscription.
Advertisements are forced every few minutes, to the point where content consumption becomes frustrating and nearly unwatchable. This is not a premium experience by any definition. I have never encountered such aggressive advertising on a paid entertainment platform, and it completely defeats the purpose of subscribing.
Your platform appears to position itself as a competitor to services like Netflix, but the comparison does not hold. Neither the content quality nor the advertising policy comes anywhere close. Expecting users to pay and still tolerate constant interruptions reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of what a paid subscription represents.
This feels like double monetization—charging users upfront and then repeatedly interrupting them to maximize ad revenue. It signals a lack of respect for paying customers’ time and attention.
If this is the intended experience for subscribers, then the subscription offers no real value. I strongly urge you to review this policy, because in its current form, it is unacceptable and unsustainable for any user expecting a premium service.

Terrible App Experience — Ads Even for Paid Users!
SonyLIV has to be one of the worst streaming apps I’ve used. It’s extremely frustrating that even paid subscribers are forced to watch ads. The platform openly calls itself an “ad-based model,” which makes zero sense when you’re already paying for a subscription.
I primarily subscribed just to watch UFC live events and replays — but even while watching highlights, I get ads every few minutes. A 20-25 minute highlight video ends up with 10–12 ads! It completely ruins the viewing experience and makes you wonder why you’re even paying for it.
For the amount they charge, this constant interruption and poor viewer experience make it one of the most disappointing streaming platforms out there. SonyLIV seriously needs to rethink its model — paying users should never be treated worse than free viewers.

Frustrating Experience – Poor Streaming Quality
This is one of the worst apps I’ve used for streaming movies or live sports. I was trying to watch the IND vs PAK match, but the app simply wouldn’t work properly. Despite being on a 5G network and using an iPhone 15, the stream kept buffering. I restarted the app multiple times, even rebooted my phone, but the issue persisted.
What’s most frustrating is the irony—before the match starts, the app plays two ads flawlessly in high quality without any buffering. But the moment the match begins, the stream starts buffering constantly. Clearly, the problem lies with the app, not my device or connection.
Even when I find a movie or series I want to watch that’s available on SonyLIV, I avoid using the app altogether. The user experience is so poor that I’d rather download it from elsewhere than deal with this mess.
As a mobile app developer with over 5 years of experience, I can confidently say that these streaming and buffering issues can be resolved easily with proper development and management. Unfortunately, it seems the developers and product managers behind this app are not taking the user experience seriously.

Paid for Frustration, Not for Entertainment
The only reason I purchased this subscription was to watch the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final, but the experience was a complete disaster. Despite having a very good internet connection, the stream kept buffering again and again, making it impossible to enjoy the match. The interface is already slow and laggy, and on top of that, the platform bombards users with ads instead of focusing on a smooth viewing experience.
If you can’t handle the traffic during such a big event, then don’t take the responsibility of streaming it. It’s extremely unprofessional to ruin such an important match for fans who trusted you enough to pay for a subscription.
This was a total waste of money and time. I would strongly recommend never purchasing this subscription until they fix their servers, stop the excessive ads, and actually deliver the quality they promise.

Worst App ever
Sony Liv is by far one of the most disappointing streaming experiences I have come across. The app seems to leave no chance to ruin the viewer’s experience, especially during live matches. It aggressively pushes advertisements, not just during commercial breaks, but even in the middle of the game — sometimes between deliveries or when the bowler is about to take a run-up.
This completely disrupts the flow of watching a match and makes it frustrating, to say the least. A sports broadcast should respect the continuity of play, but Sony Liv appears more focused on flooding viewers with ads at every possible pause rather than delivering a quality viewing experience.
On top of that, the overall user experience feels clumsy and poorly thought out. Instead of enhancing the joy of live sports, the app ends up testing a viewer’s patience. For anyone who loves cricket or live sports, this is possibly the worst application to rely on.
In short, Sony Liv has turned into a textbook example of how not to build a streaming platform. Worst app ever.

Unprofessional practices and money lichens
Do it subscribe to SonyLiv unless I want to loose your money. They have a bug in their app which they don’t acknowledge and resolve it especially people in abroad. I have purchased the subscription from Malaysia using my gmail account which is in India. These guys have not enabled the subscription in Malaysia as well as in India whereas I have a subscription mail too that’s it’s activated. First and foremost, the platform is plagued by technical issues. I've experienced constant buffering, lag, and crashes, making it impossible to enjoy even the most basic content. And don't even get me started on the "live" content, which is anything but. Delays, freezes, and pixelation are the norm, rendering the experience utterly useless.
But you know what the cherry on top is? The ads. Yes, you read that right - despite paying a hefty premium, I'm still forced to endure annoying, repetitive ads on non-live content. This app is an absolute disaster. I usually don’t write reviews, but this dumpster fire is so infuriating that I had to. Even with a paid premium subscription, you’re still forced to sit through three ads every time you fast-forward or touch the seek bar. What kind of scam is this?
To make things worse, it can’t even handle the basic task of playing episodes in order. Instead of moving to the next episode, this stupid app plays the previous one—on both mobile and TV. Who thought that was a good idea?
It’s unresponsive, buggy, and barely functional half the time. In a free market, this garbage wouldn’t survive a day. The only reason it still exists is because of cronies and a monopoly on content, forcing users to put up with this nonsense. If you value your time and money, stay far away from this app.

Useless App! Better watch it on channel.
The app works flawlessly when they have to show ads and it’s just not a single ad. There are series of Ads. Even after taking a subscription you have to watch 3 ads every 5 minute. If you want to fast forward 5 mins, congratulations you have just unlocked 6 ads. They don’t even have an ad free subscription. If you fast forward multiple time, they will show the ads and then the app crashes. Now you have to restart the app and voila 3 more ads. I’m so frustrated with the app that I’ve stopped watching Indian Idol. I don’t use mobile app. This review is for TV app. I would recommend everyone to better watch on channel or look for some other OTT. Never go for sony liv app until they improves.

Advertisements and glitchy UI
Firstly, I have seen this only on Indian OTT platform, where you feel entitled to put up advertisements even when the user is paying for the service. What is the point of paying for the service when we have to watch the advertisements. No body likes advertisements in the middle of their entertainment. This is a scam and you’re only trying to make more money. Stop it. It is devaluing the entertainment. Before the show starts there is advertisement, in the middle of it there is one towards the end there is another. We don’t want any advertisements.
The UI is absolutely glitchy. Non functioning sometimes. With Sony being such a large name behind this platform, I would expect a better UI. It’s quite slow, got some lags in terms scrolling. It is not good and far from efficient. I guess all that advertising money goes into the company pockets and not redevelopment.

As you know the time gap between Canada and our country is 14 hours we were watching their in day time because we didn’t have any business to do. SONY LIV ADS ruin the premium experience
I have been a Sony LIV subscriber for quite a while now, but my experience has gone from satisfactory to downright frustrating, especially in the past few months. When I initially subscribed for a 3-month plan, I was happy because there were no ads during the premium and recorded sports content. Only the live streams had ads, which was understandable. However, after upgrading to a one-year subscription, things took a drastic turn for the worse.
About 4 months into my one-year subscription, Sony LIV suddenly changed its ad policy, and now, every piece of content—including the premium shows and recorded sports content—is plagued by ads. I was shocked to find that even recorded matches, which should be ad-free as part of a premium membership, now have up to 24 ads during the playback! It completely ruins the experience of watching sports when you’re interrupted every few minutes by ads. The point of paying for a premium membership is to enjoy content without constant interruptions, yet here I am, watching endless commercials after already having paid for a subscription.
To make matters worse, there is absolutely no way to contact a human customer care representative. When I tried to file a complaint, the only option available was their AI chatbot, which was of no help at all. It kept directing me to a rulebook, offering no real solutions to my issues. The lack of proper customer support makes it clear that they don’t care about addressing subscriber concerns.
I expected more from Sony LIV, especially after committing to a full year of their service. I am extremely disappointed, and unless this ad issue is resolved, I see no reason to continue subscribing. What’s the point of a “premium” membership when the user experience feels like watching free-to-air content riddled with ads?

Advertising is really bad
I bought sony LIV subscription only for wwe and I have the premium subscription. With premium subscription there were no advertisements ever for wwe while watching it as a replay/re-run. All of a sudden advertisements started showing up in the re runs and download button also doesn’t work.
I understand advertisements will be there if I am watching the live wwe shows but in recorded ones why the ads are being shown it’s not live.
If you have changed your policy then you just cant change it in the middle of premium subscription what’s the point of paying the highest app fees if advertising is still there.
Even your download button rarely works. It’s so frustrating to use the app while watching wwe even if I skip the video 30 seconds I have to watch your unskippable irrelevant advertisements for 1-2 minutes straight. I don’t want vimal to ruin my health and can’t even skip that crappy ad. In a 1 hour 20 mins video I have to watch 30 minutes of app.
Please fix this if it’s a BUG or reverse your policy on recorded sports. Else there’s no point of renewing my premium subscription sony liv works like satellite tv or bundled app that we get complementary with jio/airtel for free.

Pathetic Application
The live broadcasting feature in this app has some serious issues. When exiting to picture-in-picture mode, the app freezes for a brief moment before resuming the live game. Additionally, an intrusive pause window appears during ads like it wants you to pause the video, disrupting the viewing experience. These issues make it frustrating to watch live content. Furthermore, it copy’s other OTT apps like Netflix and shows you a black screen when you take a screenshot. Lol no one wants to share your media to anyone. Considering these issues, it might be worth reconsidering the app’s rights for live broadcasting. Please someone take the live viewership rights from them. And for a free advice just try offering your content free as that’s the only way I think people will download it more. The current state of your app is not far from miserable.

Upon contacting Tata Play they told me that Sony liv app isn’t available but upon checking with app of other service providers like Videocon D2H, Airtel & others it’s available on their OTT platforms. Upon checking on Internet I have learned that some problem is going between Tata Play & Sonyliv due to which Tata Play has removed the app from its OTT platform. They mess up sports events like no one else
It seems to me that only the advertising sales folks are in the room when these guys plan telecast of any sporting event, specially multi-sports events like the Asian Games. Despite being a paid member, one has to endure long ads before sports telecast can be viewed. This is specially painful when you are switching between different streams since you will have to go through 1-2 mins of advertisements before you can decide which one to watch. I understand ads during the break in an event but expect to be directly taken to the action otherwise. This has made this Asian Games such a painful experience. I pray this is the last time they are the Digital partners for an event like Asian Games.

Most unstable and inconsistent OTT app
This is one the most unstable and inconsistent OTT app available for iPad on AppStore. Only one that is much worse than ZEE5. Both the OTT platforms now belong to the same company, coincidence? The most basic features doesn’t work, like:
1. App doesn’t work in portrait orientation
2. Controls like download, add to watch list, resume from where it is left off before are available in portrait orientation and oh boy, there is no portrait orientation.
3. The only way to add something to watchlist is through searching for it and then to add from the search pane, if you are lucky enough to find the movie through search
4. Search is very inconsistent and doesn’t work at times
5. Only way to download a video is to play the video and hope the video shows up in continue watching section. And say if you are lucky enough, you will be definitely not lucky enough as the download will fail anyway
6. Video playback is consistent and doesn’t start at all at times
And I can go on listing hundred different things that doesn’t work, but above are the bare minimum that should be working in the first place.

Persistent Video Download Issue - iPhone XR
I’ve been using the iPhone XR for a while now, and I’ve encountered a recurring issue that’s been quite frustrating. It pertains to the download functionality for videos within the device.
For several months, whenever I attempt to download videos, the process fails and immediately starts re-downloading. This alone is an annoyance, but the bigger problem is that these failed downloads continue to occupy precious storage space on my iPhone XR.
Ideally, when a video download fails, it should be automatically removed from my storage to free up space. However, this isn’t happening, and it’s causing a noticeable and unnecessary increase in storage usage.
As a user, this situation is far from ideal, and it affects the overall usability of my iPhone XR. I’m hoping for a prompt resolution to this issue so that I can continue enjoying the full functionality of my device without constantly worrying about storage space being consumed by failed downloads.
Overall, my experience with the iPhone XR has been positive, but this particular issue is a significant drawback. I look forward to seeing this problem fixed in a future update.

1. Recently watched list not visible on the Home Screen. This is a major life saver for all series I like to continue to watch.
2. If I play the most recently watched series it should start from where I left off previously.
3. The forward and backward button are too responsive so even if I am touching to check the time remaining for the show it accidentally presses the forward or backward (by 10 seconds) button.

Never download the app
I have downloaded the app and paid membership and it was not reflecting. So I dropped them message and with all the screenshots. They said they will look into it, it’s been three days that I paid the amount and still my subscription is not active.
They have useless, inefficient and worst customer care they won’t even give you resolution time all they say we are working on it we have prioritised the issue, we have transferred to concerned team.
I think the concerned team is either eating grass for three days or laying eggs because to solve a issue which is very simple and basic they are taking days. They are wasting people’s time.
I had chat with these hopeless guys on WhatsApp and also dropped them mail but of no use.

This is the worst app and waste of time and money. Not only they have the most non-user friendly app with so many crashes and lags but they just fool you. I read reviews on google and people have same experiences like me. I bought the most expensive subscription thinking it would be nice to have and we can stream on multiple devices. But it never worked.
But just because I have paid and wanted to watch ad free shows I was still using this app on my mobile. I have to travel abroad frequently for work related trips and their app doesn’t work at all. During travelling OTT are your biggest company and I wanted to watch Kapil sharma show but they just do not allow me to login even though I had fully paid subscription. No other OTT platform has such stupid restrictions. SONY you are a big time fraud and money hoarder as always!!

Evening 7 pm onwards me and my wife are glued before TV to see programs on SonyLIV. From Punyashlok Ahilya till Yashomati ke Nandlala. Recently we have some glitch in our broadband so miss entire programs. In hopefully two weeks it will be restablished and we look forward to see all the programs. It’s not out of place to mention I have not missed a single episode of Indian Idol. Hats of too your team who devised it n go look for such talents. I have repeatedly sent out emails to convey that inspite of having a paid premium subscription account, the app still asks me to pay and doesn’t let me watch the content. Keeps taking me to the same payment page and then shows payment error even if I want to repay out of sheer frustration, just to watch the content I want. Having simple experience issues like this is unfathomable in this day and age. Haven’t had this experience with any other platform I’ve used and subscribed. Not user friendly. Missing most important features
Watching with online it is good. I am using iPad (only WiFi), if I have connected to Wi-Fi then only I can watch movies from SonyLIV. If I am travelling or been moving to remote locations for few days, I am not able watch. In simple terms the main feature, download option is not available. I don’t understand why they given one option My downloads in profile when there is no download option.
First I tried searching in internet if I am missing somewhere this option. But unfortunately, SonyLIV replied that there is no download option currently. We are working on that, for the twitter post on 2018. So, they are still working on one simple feature since 4 years.

Coming to another feature, we can’t see about the info of the movies. We have to watch movies directly from thumbnail. We don’t get the synopsis like briefing of the story, what kind of movie, rating etc.

An amazing experience
Past week I watched Rocket Boys. I was enthralled. In the last episode when the Rocket went up at Thumba, tears welled up in my eyes. I felt proud to be an Indian. I felt proud to be born in an independent democratic country like India. We haven chosen to name our great institutions after these great men who showed we are at par with anyone else in this world. Yet their heroic struggles are silently forgotten and no text book in our schools contain descriptions of these men who sacrificed and devoted their lives in pursuit of their dreams. Their story I am sure will inspire numerous young minds in this country. I wish this story is available free to all people in India. Thanks SonyLIV for giving us a gem and an opportunity to be proud of this great nation.

Shoddy App, Shoddy Customer Service
This rating isn’t merely for the below par quality of the app, although that isn’t excusable either. I’m compelled to write this since the customer service (assuming it actually exists) is terrible. The login system for the app was changed based on mobile numbers, but the concerned team simply didn’t consider linking the new logins with previous methods (Apple ID in this case) and simply started treating mine as a new account. Tl;dr - I had one month of premium subscription left but thanks to this mess I can’t watch any premium content for the remaining 30 days since my purchase can’t be restored. On raising this with customer service, I was asked to show a purchase receipt twice, which I did and then radio silence from the other end. Any thoughts I had on renewing the subscription are surely gone for now. Unless and until this app gets a major overhaul tech wise, I’m not coming back. At the risk of stating the obvious, it’s not enough to have good content on an OTT app. The tech needs equal if not more attention, which is sadly missing here as of now.

Bugs and Numerous Issues with the app
It’s just disappointing to see so many problems with this app. I have to login to my account almost every alternate day because my account is signed out for no reason at all. The app Unknowingly crashes while watching Content.
Frankly speaking I’m using this is app ONLY because I have a Subscription and I enjoy watching very few content. Believe me I plan on uninstalling the app as soon as My Subscription is Over. I would rather prefer watching content on any other App with no content or even on a Website that has Pirated Content with ad pop ups all the time because atleast I wouldn’t have paid them for having to watch content with so many problems. I have subscriptions to almost all the mainstream OTT Platforms but This app has got to be the worst.

Cheap App UI but charging a lot
There are so many misleading subscription plans to loot customers hard-earned money.
But my main complain is that we don't get the full screen option on iPhone(x,xs,xr,11,12,13). They didn't optimized the app for these devices. Okay, you don't update the app to these news iPhone Models but at least make the sides full black instead of gray. App support upto 16:9(aprox) and all videos would play in this aspect only even if the video support other aspects. All videos are bound to play at 16:9 ration because this is the maximum aspect they allow. While watching in landscape mode on both left and right side there are huge gray screen, which is developers faults. I know this can happen but even after years they're not fixing this. Also UI is very buggy and play controls are cheap. Learn from other apps Sony... Don't just charge people, give then valuable experience
Also, in this app Home button(line) doesn't disappear automatically or it's permanent. After charging premium price from customers they don't even bother to update & fix it.

Session and Device Management needs overhaul
Haven’t seen such a pathetic OTT app. I am a premium member which means I can watch on 2 screens simultaneously. Logged in to my phone and TV, app was open on my phone and was trying to watch IndVsEng on TV but the screen popped up that you have reached maximum screen limit (which was 2 in my case). Then I closed both app and tried to watch only on mobile but the popup came and and didn’t allow me to watch on phone as well. I checked device management in settings and it showed only 2 logins. Basically even on being a premium member i am being denied of premium content. Even the basic OTT apps are better than this. Because of this issue I was not able to watch lots of great matches during Olympic. If there was a 0 ratting I would have given that but sadly we have 1 star as minimum. I will never subscribe again. SonyLIV please hire better developers to build your app.

Very low standard App
I have few points which irritates user: 1) I don’t why does this app requires Bluetooth to boot up. All the time when I open it asks for Bluetooth, which is very annoying. 2) When I get call or if I jump to other app from this app, it won’t start from where I left. It reboots the whole app and doesn’t show in my watch list. 3) Not good content in Highlights of cricket match: This is one of the worst experience in my whole life, it won’t show important things in highlights like wickets, fours, dramatic moments etc. 4) Ind Vs. Eng: If whole highlights video is completed then there is no option to go back to Home Screen, which is very irritating. Finally, this app is not much comfortable, if the app is not ready why the contract of Tokyo Olympics 2020 and Ind vs. Eng 2021 has been broadcasted?

Horrible app when compares to other streaming app
The touch response time in the app is very slow. The screen rotation often doesn’t seem to work. Exiting a stream is a tedious process as it gets stuck to the display screen of that particular stream.
I mainly use this app to watch live sports games. The advertisement in between overs during a cricket game doesn’t load properly without starting the game. I’ll have to exit the stream and load again to continue watching.
The video quality is not great when compared to other streaming platforms especially live sports games.
Casting a live stream is very bad as it randomly chooses a language. I cannot change the language as the options/subtitles menu doesn’t open while casting. Sometimes the cast is audio is 10s slower or faster. The advertisement seems to screw up the audio more while casting.
One good thing about the app is the SonyLiv Twitter support has a very fast response but even after a complaint the issues continue to occur.

The buggiest video streaming app on the market
You guys have some of the best content libraries, great resolution and some marquee shows in india. But the amount of bugs in the app are too many to count. The whole app is very heavy on the phone, the app just keeps throwing network disconnected error even when every other app functions perfectly and the app is very unstable. Moreover there are a few episodes of a few shows that are simply absent ruining the watching experience, it shows the episode number and synopsis but when it comes to watching the episode it keeps throwing errors. Please fix this app across all your platforms! I am already regretting buying a premium subscription on SonyLIV because of the combination of all of these providing a terrible user experience.

Not an app
This is a website masquerading as an app because some moron in the management thought one website works for all phones . And here I am searching for the back button in this maze. I really pity the developers working in this app. Also I suspect there is a massive review fraud going on since there are only 5 star reviews and one star reviews. Reading through one star reviews, I am able to see the pain of some poor frustrated soul . They write reviews in the hope someone will take notice and improve the app. Nope ;the moron in the management has an even better idea. They decided that they will buy 5 star reviews to balance out the bad reviews . The current star rating histogram is the living proof of this fraud. This is a steaming app, and it won’t be so polarising that half the people hate it and half the people love it . And to the developers reading this, nope am not your team mate and no I don’t even work for Sony.

SonyLIV is LIVE example of WhiteHat Junior application - worst interface
App is not at all user friendly with lots of bugs and ads while you watch. I had the subscription earlier which seems to be fair earlier. Now they are at cloud 9 asking 999 Rs. for the subscription. Come on SonyLIV don’t be a kid!!! Stop comparing yourself like any other Online platform. Your app lacks feature; content; stability;
Being a professional Computer Engineer... I suggest you first change your IT development team. And learn also before you build any feature take some inspiration from other apps or a user survey might be helpful.
Check your app size it’s more than 200MB while other apps with better feature remains under 70-80MBs something’s not correct!!
Once you have a stable app ask for higher price.

Most pathetic streaming app ever used
Sony Liv is the most pathetic app I have ever used. Such a bad user interface, such a slow app. It takes more than 1 minute to just load the app, and above that it lags at every touch.
There are so many ads that it seems like an ad streaming app rather than a content streaming app. Plus app crashes after every 2-3 minutes, it really gets frustrating to keep restarting the app to use it. Like while playing KBC, it keeps getting crashed and then app needs to be restarted again and again and in all this, timer for answering the question gets over.
Didn’t expect this kind of app experience from Sony who make such great electronic items (Bravia TV, PlayStation to name a few) which have great user interface, but seems like they have paid no attention to Sony liv app.
Wonder how come it’s at number 2 in Apple App Store in entertainment category (seems like they paid Apple to do so)

Very poorly made app
I normally dont write reviews but here i am compelled to write one. It is such a glitchy and poorly made app. It become frustrating to watch anything. Keeps crashing all the time, has an insane number of ads(every 3-4 mins)(and because of the crash have to see ads again. Cant resume where we left off after crash, need to start again and see ads twice (one for opening video and one for the scroll to where we were watching at). Also scroll/video player has stopped working since last app update. The continue watching feature doesnt work. It is soo difficult to navigate the app and fine the show. Then the episode you were at, and then the time you were watching at. Such good content, such a shoddy app. Pls fix it! For a brand like Sony and in an age of digital revolution of OTT consumption of content, how are you so far behind in the tech race?(app store rating of 2.2!)

Regret getting a Premium subscription
Subscribed to the app even though I could access all the sports action from my Airtel account, just for the higher quality. But whenever I try to watch something, always get the error of the content being accessed from multiple devices even though I know for a fact that I am the only accessing it from just one device. Really feel foolish for having subscribed. I am still having to watch from my Airtel account. Don’t subscribe if you are reading this. And SonyLIV people, please don’t respond with your boilerplate ‘we need more details’ because I know you are going to do nothing about it. The screenshots are misleading. It is not an ad-free experience at all. There are ads on all live streams even when the original broadcast doesn’t. I don’t know why Apple is getting SonyLIV get away with such a misrepresentation. What a waste!
