Too complicated to log in

I have been using this app for a long time. After they started to make all movies and series payed I didn’t use that much. And after that I just tried to check if the app is still usable but it made very complicated to just open the app. And I tried so many times to open it but couldn’t they just say my Mail ID and password doesn’t match like they know my password right. Worst Streaming Application

There are ads every 5 minutes that last at least a minute sometimes more. When you start an episode, there are also ads. If you lose the episode you were on, you might end up watching ads for 10 minutes trying to figure out the right episode. If you go forward, or go back, you have to watch the ads again! Overall, you will end up watching more ads than the actual show. Subscription is more expensive than netflix. Better option to watch the show on IQIYI or some other website.

This app is quite good for watching dramas for free however latest releases infact good old ones aren’t even available yet to watch. Some shows are not available in your region. So, content here is limited. I was watching a drama and it was blocked halfway after completing 20-21 episodes already and was blocked citing the reason to pay and watch. Also, nowadays good j-dramas are hardly uploaded. Sorry but everyone may not be interested in VikiPass.

Complaint against unauthorised payment and scam by Rakuten Viki app

I am writing to formally report a serious issue regarding my experience with the Rakuten app, which I believe amounts to a scam.

I had signed up for a trial Viki Pass using a trial card for a 1-week free trial period. I made sure to cancel the subscription well before the trial period ended, as per the terms, to avoid any charges. However, despite cancelling the subscription and automatic payment before the deadline, an amount of ₹299 was still deducted from my account.

Furthermore, even after the deduction, my subscription was effectively cancelled, and I was unable to access the Viki Pass content as intended. Instead, I was shown ads, which indicates that I was not granted the full subscription benefits despite the payment being deducted.

This is extremely unfair and unacceptable. I kindly request you to investigate this matter urgently and process a full refund of the deducted amount, as well as ensure that my access to the Viki Pass is properly restored.

I trust that Rakuten will resolve this issue at the earliest.

Suggesting people to buy a premium cause they are all complaining about the adds is fine but I have never in my life seen an app that plays 5 ads back to back every five minutes and some ads are 1.5 mins long cant even skip them. Worse than the local television channels. Saying that all that add money goes to investing in the app, why not invest in improving our user experience. Very frustrating to watch in this app since last two weeks. Every drama I select to view stops loads after 30 secs of play. I was supposed to renew the annual membership on the 20th July but I went ahead and cancelled it just now, no point on paying when one cannot watch.

App has good content, but it stops abruptly every 10 -15 minutes. Shows an error as a message and after refresh my content started from beginning which is annoying. Vikki was way better before the update, but after it the ads just come every minute like it makes you so frustrated. Viki is great but need more licences for Indian market

The content is good but a lot of shows are not available for India. Really bizarre. Asian content is available in the US but not in an Asian country. Also some features for user interface can be improved. For eg, the facility to download content on the app to watch without network. Pick a few details from Netflix. They’ve really mastered it. All this said, I love viki and esp all the profile details for each actor.

Love it!

So many great dramas, so many genres! But the best thing are the subtitles. The subtitle teams always give context for certain dialogues where pun is intended or some historical reference is given. This makes the drama more enjoyable. Also, the translations are not very westernised but instead presented in a more as is form that helps to pick on the nuances of the dialogue for non-Koreans. I hope they start paying the sub teams as they all do a fantastic job!

Before this update ads rarely come abut now after every 2 minutes unnecessarily ads come which made it harder for non membership viewers to watch. I watched Viki ever since I watching Asian dramas and it was great at that time and I loved it but now It all changed. It is also very annoying and not everyone can afford membership fees cause they are still students and the fee is too high. Great at but….

I’ve been using this app ever since I started watch Asian dramas, I really like this app it has a wide range of dramas ( so I’ve experienced) with excellent subtitles with also tend to teach basic Asian words/phrases . But on the other hand there are dramas/movies that I can’t watch because they aren’t available in the region (as it says). And the number if ads keeps increasing (as during 3 intervals I’ve been watching 6 ads per episode) moreover I’ve experienced many glitches such as the screen won’t scroll no matter how many times I try, the app won’t close, and/or the screen goes black for no reason and may result in my phone not working without a restart I’ve tried updating the version of app number of times but the results won’t change …I hope the viki team fixes these problems for the better experience of the users.

A major issue

I love this app, but it just freezes, stops working for no reason... especially when I've already watched an episode and want to rewatch it.... I've been trying to watch an episode but the second I open it its frozen on a scene and I need to close the app multiple times until it works.

The subtitle quality is exceptional to the point where I don’t think any other translation teams can even compare.

Also, the amount of content is also very good.

But, it is missing some key features which others provide.

The app is really good. It has many dramas of different regions...but recently it has started to show up ads so many times..it is mostly the same ad shown many times. That is the only factor that I find is annoying and not good...rest I can say the the app is doing fine.

Good App but need to fix a bug

Have to say its an amazing app it allows you to watch Chinese korean and japanese dramas and movies for free....but after sometime i am not being able to open this application pls fix this bug and you need to include some more amazing netflix dramas like extracurricular and itaewon class so that many people who do not have Netflix can access them for free

Not opening

I have been using this app for a while now and I really liked this app. But recently the app is showing some issues. The issue is that it is not opening at all. I hope you can fix this as soon as possible.

When I came across VIKI I was just amazed by its collection. I was a beginner in watching Chinese and Korean drama then. But after few days I found most of the drama I am not able to watch here. They are giving notification that these shows are not licensed for my region. So I have turned to other drama watching apps,channel. Please look into this matter. Otherwise I could have rated 5* easily.

The best ever app for drama

I have been using viki ever since I started watching dramas I found it very productive in terms of delivering the subtitles (some of the subtitles were missing in few scenes )but to my disappointment some of the dramas that I wish to watch weren’t available in my region (as it says) and there was also a problem of more advertisements being played in between the drama which was a bit inconvenient . In overall I would really recommend this app for the people who want to enjoy streaming dramas of wide range. ( Note:I was introduced to this app by my friends)

Worst app ever

Before it used to be a good app and I could watch videos at ease but now there are so many ads that I am really disappointed, I used to think it was good app but now it’s full of nothing but advertisements. Don’t ever use this app unless you are desperate or something. I am genuinely starting to hate this app

Even though the quality and all is good but right now I’m watching Birth of the beauty but the some of the episodes are not loading only while other episodes from the same drama are loading fine in specific I had to skip episode 5 and 7 please help I’m not being able to finish this drama I’m still stuck on episode 7 do help

A download option would make this app even better.

App is up to the mark. It streams every drama I looked for. The only draw back I could see is that it doesn’t give a download option. If we can download the shows to watch offline, it would be even better.

Problem with subscription

Well the app is really good and I'm able to watch dramas pretty well .... But recently I've been having this problem that despite me having the standard subscription the adds do not disappear and it's really irritating .... And renewed my subscription again to see if it's ok but it's not working still ... I would request you to check it up once again

Content licensing

A lot of Viki content I have watched from a different geographic location is not available in India which is disappointing.

I started using this after the DramaFever service shutdown. I love Viki, but the content here is just half what you see in the US or Canada.

Also, it’s about time we had a Download button to watch tv shows offline. I spent two times over, for my cellphone data cost last month because of unavailability of this feature.

Is anyone from the Developer team even paying attention to these feedback comments? I’m not sure, because it’s a feature request from a lot of Pass holders.

Great app

It's a great app to watch Korean drama but I have some issues with the app

Some ads can't be skipped, these ads are like 30 mins long and I have to restart the app to continue watching

Second issue is that video quality can't be selected, ofcourse I would like to watch in the best quality possible but when I m on my mobile pack I would like to limit the amount of data it uses

But since this is a free app I feel it's okay but it would be better if these issues were fixed

It’s drama library is not comprehensive.

I have been a fan of Korean and Japanese dramas since 2006 and watched more than 500+ dramas since then. Many dramas are missing in Viki. In Japanese section there are hardly any dramas at all. Would love if Viki upload more dramas of all genres. Apart from that watching dramas in Viki is a big pleasure since it’s the only app in Apple Store that caters to KDrama fans like me.

The amount of ads they play in a 40 minute/1 hour episode is ridiculous. And every time this happens, they play multiple ads at a stretch which you can skip only after 10 seconds each. These ads keep interrupting every few minutes and once the ads are done the screen just goes blank and I have to reload everything just for the ads to play again. This is so frustrating. These ads don’t let me watch the show properly either. I understand that this is the only way to make money from the free users but like wow calm down with the number of ads.

EDIT:1 i was a Kdrama fan .. but because of viki i thot i should try Cdramas as well... and wooooo!!!! No wonder i am huge fan of Cdramas as well...GENUINE APP.. 😊

Good stuff

Really amazing app I swear the quality is too goood but please make more dramas available for India too like fight for my way :V there are a lot of ads in between but when you cast it on your smart tv the ads don’t really pop up which is a good thing but it’s a really nice app tho all the kdrama fans out there who are struggling to watch it online should definitely try it.

Too many ad breaks.. everything else is perfect!!

The ads are almost 5 times in each episode of 45 minutes, of a few seconds each, which can be skipped after 10 seconds, but these ads are 2 consecutively played..

because of this it gets a little annoying.. even if you don’t have the Viki pass.. 10 ads of approx 12 seconds each or longer would frustrate a viewer.. but since the video quality and subtitles and the show collections are way better than any other app.. I have been tolerating these ads.. hope they amend that soon..!
