Hands down the data provided by the cricinfo website is unmatched. This application has so much potential but sadly some glitches are letting the experience down. Sometimes orientation doesn't work properly. If there is no any zoom in or zoom out function why the orientation of UI cannot be fixed. Please add support for landscape mode especially while searching statsguru.

After so many years with CricInfo, today I am deleting the app. You guys ruined the mobile app so much that, there are so many advertisements, which glitches the application performance. There is an advertisement pops-up every 5 minutes that annoys so much. Yes you care sponsors too but don’t annoy users with so many advertisements. And most importantly, switching between parallel games is a pain in your App. Many times it does not load at all. User patience levels are tested when quickly switching between simultaneous matches.

At the outset, I would like to clarify that ESPNCricinfo is the mecca for all things cricket. I absolutely love the content and am an ardent follower of cricket matches on this platform. This review, however, is for the poor app design which feels like an mobile web browser which aged badly. The app is not at all intuitive for phone users. The touch targets are too small. The page refreshing is not smooth. There are no gestures incorporated. The overall user experience is very poor and crappy. For a cricket tragic like me, this poorly developed app is not a barrier to consume the information that I need but this app will not attract new audiences of the game because of how dated it is. This is a sincere plea to the developers and decision makers at Cricinfo to make the app modern.

You say you have some other ex- cricketers who are also on your panel but all I see day-in-day-out is only Majrekar interviewing the other ex-cricketers. He is a part of every video on Indian cricket team.
You might have made a deal with him at a low price, since he is the most hated commentator in India. But don’t expect us to support or subscribe for your content just when we were so relieved to not hear him during IPL 2020.
I had a similar issue when Sony got him for the Australia tour, but seems like you guys don’t do your analysis properly. There is a reason why a large set of cricket-educated Indian fans hate him. Wonder how you are not able to understand this sentiment.

This app is wonderful for it’s contents but lacks a lot of features. This app doesn’t even have a widget. One cannot always open the app to view the cricket scores for a quick glance. Next bring a standalone apple watch app to view scores on the go instead of relying on phone these days.
Please keep up with the features and technology that’s evolving.

A good cricket app

It’s a good app for a cricket lover and I have been using it over two years now.
With the recent update there is a an issue I am not able to see the drop downs, like while seeing the complete scoreboard I am unable to see the description on how the wicket fell. I hope they fix this soon.

Cricinfo is my go to website for Cricket. However the mobile app is horrible, horrible to use. Bad UI, high loading time. This is leading to move towards other sites. Look at latest CWC 19 app, its beautifully designed. Change your mobile app design, start from scratch, invest in good UI experience otherwise you will keep losing ardent fans of your website due to bad usability, horrendous UI.

Have been associated with cricinfo for over a decade. The website I spend more than than all others combined.
App has been failing to open since past 1-2 days. Reinstalled once then it worked fine one time. Then failing to open again.

I’d like to clarify one thing at the outset, which is that I absolutely adore the content on Cricinfo. Cricinfo continues to remain the definitive place online for all things cricket and I have loved it for decades. The poor rating is for the app, which is poorly designed and unintuitive. I guess that this is largely because of ESPN wanting to standardize all their online properties, which clearly doesn’t work well with cricket at least. Sadly this is also true of the website, which is terrible to navigate through. This is a real shame as, as I described above, it has the best writing, analysis and statistics about the sport. I wish this situation will be addressed in the future.

Every time you click on the scorecard the ad below it opens first, even if you carefully click only above the ad. It’s irritating and unprofessional way of having an app. The ad already covers the space and to top it the ad always opens. There are other ways of making money than cheating the users and the App Store into thinking we really clicked on the ad.

My rating is for this new thing i found where you cant scroll thru to next page on a player profile even though the dot shows theres a second page available for scrolling.

Guys you had the best cricket app and today you've forced me to download cricbuzz. The front page which used to have all live matches which you could always see and then look at the timeline of future matches all in order of date is no longer there. You've unnecessarily created favourites and I can only see matches and scores of only those teams. I can't see previous or future matches, I can't see other world matches. Please boss you can show news of my favourite teams but I want to see scores of all teams in the world

Poorly organised app with inefficient information accessibility

The information organisation is really poor as it is focused on presenting the information about specific teams up front, even if it is outdated, over that of events in progress. At the same time, for a cricket app, it is difficult to find supplementary information about the sport and its players.
Prior to the World Cup Qualifiers, there was no information on the scheduling, teams or impact of the tournament on the WC. Then, it failed to present the points table even after the tournament was underway. Thereafter, once the Super Six was in progress, it failed to incorporate the points carried forward from the group stage.
It is as if the app is maintained by people who have no knowledge of the sport. I ended up uninstalling the app since it is expected to serve just one purpose and fails at it.
It is unfortunate that I have to install 2 apps to follow the sport, but the official BCCI and ICC apps get the job done remarkably well.

The previous version of the app was way better than the "revamped" version.
3 important reasons.
1. Video interface is a big mess. You can only watch a old video if it appears in suggestions(like Facebook). You have NO option of viewing a old video. I'm fine with the ads. But 25 sec ad for a approx 60-90 sec video is annoying.
2. Player/fixture search is a painful process. Even if you find it, it redirects to a in-app web page(like Twitter) and it takes more time.
3. Score alerts turn off/on automatically without you actually doing it.
Overall HUGE mess. I'm honestly surprised that the worked so hard in spoiling the UX to this extent.

In Ipad version, the home page is always showing outdated information. Also it doent open any player profile in the app, it opens it in the browser. Worst is that, when want to look into the score its a window and not full screen and swiping doesn’t work between score tabs like, live, scorecard, commentary etc... previous app was way better. You guys have screwed up big time.

Why did you even think of updating an already fantastic app. The new one is pathetically slow and not convenient to navigate. In all these years I had never even thought of installing any other app. So it's finally time now to look beyond Cricinfo. I wish I could rate less than a star. It feels like a downgrade of the app rather than an upgrade. It was a good experience with CricInfo until the latest update happened. Goodbye
Update: 4 months after uninstalling it because of the pathetic update, I reinstalled it hoping that some sense may have prevailed among the creators of the app. Disappointed! There’s no change. It’s still the worst app update ever. Uninstalling again immediately.

Where are the match stats???

There is no option to see the playing XI unless the entire team (batting) completes the innings. No provision to show the batsman coming in next! The interface is completely revised (for the worse). For any series, again no place to view The playing XI or the squad of 15. Please do something to update this. Finally the app is slower than other apps like cricbuzz. Disappointed with cricinfo.
