Hello Developers,
Am not reviewing it as yet. However, am using iPhone X which will never get an update to ios 17.
Does that mean that I cannot use the IMobile app on my phone and have to spend money to buy a new one!!
If that’s the case, then this is absolutely unacceptable. Else, please rectify the problem so that old versions like mine ios 16.7.7 can also use the app.

You folks don’t know what backward compatibility means! The app only works on a brand new iPhone with a brand new iOS V17. Which means you are limiting your app usage to a limited customer base. I repeat, fire your app development team, or at least the team involved in the latest software update. I have been using iMobile app for long time and it is has been very convenient but the recent decision of Icici to remove support for devices running iOS version lower than 17 is very ordinary and ridiculous to say the least. It’s essentially excluding many users and forcing them to use website which is not convenient. Icici should do something about it if it really cares about its customers.

I have used the ICICI app for the past and have grown to depend on it for many features. I don’t believe in holding an expensive just for status quo. Can the “Development Team” please make it reverse compatible so that the app works on older version of iOS? Or at least don’t force users to update previous versions. I am having to invest in a new phone “just” to use it.

I can’t believe I have to message 3rd time to ask icici bank to fix there mobile banking app for latest update error on iphone 8plus. This is bloody so wrong that a banking app is causing so much trouble to its clients. You think people are idiots that they will buy a new iphone just to use your app. People would rather open their new bank account in a different bank and close their icici bank account permanently than to but a new iphone just to use your updated version. You are literally harassing thousands and lakhs of icici bank customers with your new stupid update only good enough for latest iphones. Its a banking app and not an advance gaming app that only latest phones can run it. Each and every Icici bank customer should have proper access to their icici bank account through the icici banking app. Can’t you notice people are suffering so much because of your latest update. We don’t want your advance features dammit. We want to perform our daily banking tasks without any update issues on this app. Why are you not fixing it already. A banking app should be available to all its customers. I will raise this issues to higher authorities if not fixed right away.

I always used the imobile app for my transactions. For my surprise, it stopped working for me since a week now. When tried reaching out customer service, said its not supporting iPhone 7. I have an older iPhone where Apple has stopped giving their latest IOS v17. So I run IOS 16.7.x on my phone. I had been using this ICICI app for a while and loved it. Now suddenly when I open the app, it asks me to update the app and suggests me to also update the phone to latest IOS 17 to enjoy latest features. Without updating, I am unable to use the app. Now forcing me to update your ICICI app is fine but why are you forcing me to update to latest IOS 17? It means I have to buy a new iPhone since Apple won’t give me IOS 17 update on my old iPhone. Please fix this issue to allow your app to work even on IOS 16.7.x, else will have to move to some other bank, payment app.

Disappointing Experience with ICICI Bank App on iOS 17

As a long-time user of the ICICI Bank app, I’ve always appreciated its convenience and functionality. However, the recent mandate to use iOS 17 for the app has been incredibly disappointing. As an iPhone 8 Plus user, I find myself unable to even view the app, let alone use its features.
This decision severely limits accessibility for users like me who are unable to upgrade to the latest iOS version due to hardware limitations. It’s frustrating to be excluded from accessing essential banking services simply because of the device I own.
Moreover, as an iOS developer myself, I can’t help but see this as a bad decision for developers as well. By mandating the use of iOS 17, ICICI Bank is effectively cutting off a significant portion of their user base, which ultimately impacts the reach and success of their app.
I urge ICICI Bank to reconsider this requirement and ensure compatibility with a wider range of iOS versions to accommodate users with older devices. Banking services should be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of the device they use.
I hope ICICI Bank takes this feedback into consideration and works towards a solution that prioritizes customer accessibility, developer support, and overall user satisfaction.

When we do a UPI transaction and it immediately debits money from our account, if the receiver end has some issues then the amount is not reversed. E.g : Mostly we do UPI with street vendors, where we expect immediate success or failure, but how actually ICICI works is the opposite way, Amount will be debited from our account and the transaction will be in hanging state. We can’t expect the vendor to accept that money is debited and it will be credited to you certainly, instead need to pay same amount of cash also, as no one would agree leave the place without confirmation from their end. If any issue out side ICICI side system should mark the transaction as failure and credit back the amount immediately. Even if we raise service request or call with customer service there is no way to get back the transaction amount. They will simply say our side no issue and some issue with recipient side, it will credited to recipient account only, there is no way the stop the hanging transaction or credit back the amount.
Lost some money like this.

I was using iPhone 8 since 2018 and also using ICICI Bank app for 5-6 years now. I was very convinced and appreciated the app performance and upgrades. Recently, I had changed my handset and now I am not able to log in as the system asks me to update to ios 17 which is not available for iPhone 8 model. Why the bank is mandating for IOS version which is not available on all models of the iphone. What is the reason? Isn’t it denial of service to a section of public? I usually don’t reach out for App Store to write a review for an app which makes my day simpler and is way ahead of other banks. This app almost eliminated my need to reach out for branch be it any type of request. I have almost stopped using my other bank apps which now I think is way too traditional after using this app. The recent feature to turn on UPI scanner by default when logging in the app just blew my mind. These are some feature ideas which will pop up only to developer who himself uses the app on daily basis and want to improve the app further and bank has its backing for these developers to do whatever it makes the people’s life simpler. The one point of improvement I might say is the performance issue, which takes a considerable amount of delay to reach the next window and some instances where the session logs out. The user friendly UI (with a centralised search bar) with bulk load of features really outweighs the shortcomings which I don’t care much though it’s a point of concern. Please continue making banking this simple and better to every people as it has always been to me.

I’m surprised to see a 4.5+ rating for this app. When we use this app it’s very evident that the development team hasn’t done proper testing. There are many cases where it results in blank screen and to navigate I end up restarting the app.
The details shown in the app (credit card points) is incorrect as it doesn’t get updated even if the statements shows the right number.
Overall it doesn’t seems like a quality app. Even though certain other banks also have taken the approach of hybrid mobile apps (HTML,JS,CSS experience to mobile app), their apps works in most of the cases and there aren’t significant UI issues. That’s not the case with this app which ICICI markets a lot.

The app has been crashing frequently of late. It doesn’t feel like it’s built for the high number of transactions that come with UPI. There is a feedback option that shows up at times and when I try to provide the real (defect) feedback, it doesn’t get submitted. When I change feedback to positive, it gets submitted. Almost feels like the developers have rigged the feedback system to be positive. I have tried many times over a period of time spanning 1 year but the issue with feedback has always been there. Firstly, I really appreciate ICICI to put in so many wonderful banking features into the iMobile app which makes banking very easy. However, the UI is absolutely bloated with tiny and clumsy buttons with very slow responses and weird aspect ratios. When using UPI, the app frequently crashes. When paying at a retail shop with a lot of people in the queue, this is very uncomfortable. The app takes unusually long times to open up even though it is not killed through the app switcher. I understand that the app must be scanning for all network threats and authentication means, but there must be a much efficient way to do this. I think that the iMobile app needs a proper overhaul.

I have been using this application for almost 1.5 yrs now wherein I access my credit card details too but since beginning reward points have not been credited for transactions that I have done so far. Tired of following up with customer service, written end number of emails but still no resolution provided by bank. Already escalated to level 2 grievance and yet to hear back. Biggest disappointed customer of ICICI bank. Would never recommend anyone for this bank ever.

I've been using this app for a while now, and I must say that the constant ads are really frustrating. The app is terrible when used. You hit a button and at the same time a worthless advertisement pop up will be there covering the screen of the app. App will misbehave at times. This offer’s terrible user experience. Their swift remittance team is hopeless. They don’t keep your inward money and send back if any docs required from you. Their service id remains open and service head also don’t reply mails. ICICI bank has degraded its service or may be these are auto degraded as they may not have control over op and IT operations. We have to submit grid details everytime irrespective of any amount being sent. Further, there should be an option to choose with preferred second security level whether to go with OTP , grid details or PIN etc.
Suppose I am travelling in a public conveyance and need to send money to someone in urgent need. During transaction, grid details required to put in the second level security. Is this feasible to show your card during the travelling between various unknown persons? Definitely not. This is not what security means. Hence at that point of time a OTP based transaction is more helpful as it shall expires in sometime and we have not to worry anything after approx 10 minutes I personally found grid option useless while in office or in travelling which I used approx 15 hrs. Thr application provides the user with the basic features to access various services and address the issues . These are limited to only few. There would be more service that may be required /needed by customer to enhance the user experience and provide them with an tools to work. Recently while working through this application I noticed that this does not provide a fully active platform to process your request. In fact there are various limitation wrt the various accounts offered , some of the issues/limitation with this application
1. delinking accounts with the user I’d, reversing other services (basic)
2. limiting the minimum balance in the child account, monitoring, easy access and control are missing
3. TAT timeliness for the complaints raised and resolution timeliness missing
4. No access to raise complaints against customer care for mistakes they commit . Time to action missing
6. Escalation matrix / access is missing for complaints
The above are a few of the limitation with the app and needs to be addressed asap.

This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with any banking institution. Even mediocre government banks offer better service than ICICI. It's been more than 48 hours since I made an account online and transferred 10k. Now, my money is just stuck with no means to retrieve or transfer it. None of them have gotten back with any welcome kit as mentioned on the website or I have received any further details regarding the account. Moreover, I can’t do anything about it without sone apparent card details which I have absolutely no information about. I tried infinite times to reach customer care but that also failed. I literally regret opening an account. Now, will have to make rounds to the bank to get things sorted.

Please consider on operating the app while using only wifi connection, I mean a situation where mobile network isn’t available. Like while you are abroad or for a mariner like me on the ship. In such cases at the moment I am unable to use imobile. Please make it work only on wifi network too. Also, the OTP receiving option should be on both sms and email as referring to the above situations it is not possible to have mobile network always.
Apart from this imobile app is great and user friendly too. Also, please consider adding purchase of RBI bonds as well through app, at the moment we can do so only through net banking.

Very stupid customer service support. I reached out to their customer support for an issue so apparently my email id was set as my old id which isn’t active so they asked me to update it. I updated my email id three times in this stupid app and it showed me that Id is updated and I got an sms also mentioning the same but their customer support has completely diverted the issue and are constantly sending me response saying that your id is not updated without even reading me email. I have mentioned a thousand times that I have updated it from my end following the steps that you have shared so if it is not updated in your slow systems that is not my issue, I want resolution of my issue and not the their continuous irrelevant emails about the email id. Very frustrating customer service

This app doesn't work when you do not have an active sim network, which is really worst thing about this app. It should work on wifi that is when you are on flight mode or dont have network for your mobile network service provider. Incase if i am travelling abroad some times there is no network so this app is not working showing that you do not have active sim network😖
Please if you can make this work like previous version means i am using i mobile app almost 10 to 12 years now but this type of things really disappoints me.
The only thing this app should work on wifi when you dont have sim network (flightmode). If your team can solve this will be greatful.

I’ve been quite an unlucky customer to be honest. The app does not work at all for last 1 year on my iPhone SE gen 1.
My card doesnt get read anywhere, except for ICICI bank ATMs. And the dudes at ICICI have refused to entertain my card problems. I absolutely understand that this is not the place to report this issue, but your customer care has left me no option. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna be your customer for long anyway.
Keep doing what you always have been, no need to worry about small customers here and there.

I am using this app in iOS.
And I have to raise 1 big issue which is like whenever we login to app one new window about some offers POPs Up, which is actually very irritating and also the app gets stuck and if we try to close the pop up window it doesn’t close after 1st attempt and even if its closed we are unable to check our account statement or do the transaction which we intended to do, so to complete that process we have to close the app and relogin, which again is very time consuming. So I would suggest to keep it very simple, keep all offers and other items before login the app or after user logout. Basically whenever user is logged in they should be able to carry out their transaction hassle free. Hope this helps.

It makes me panic when I see I give the amount and it’s not updated. U say it takes 2 days to update but I don’t appreciate this much delay . Pls learn from capital float , they make the changes immediately.
Your representatives 8 out of 10 - jus read the statement in the name of explaination but can’t explain .a common man is not a CA or not everyone knows commerce . Your statements are not self explanatory at all . It’s not customer friendly. When it comes to financial statements, it should be done in a lay man terms . You could also write a small reason why certain thing took place .
It will save a lot of call volume at call Center if you could keep your statements with the explanation.

App is now almost unusable because of the mandatory forced pop up offers that you have to see, you cannot block these pop up and you cannot even even access your bank statement without seeing them first and saying no to them, they occur everytime you login and the customer care says they cannot do anything about them, if the bank forces customers to see offers they don't want then customers will move out to a different bank, icici should realize that. I’ve been complaining for over 6 months regarding this without the bank doing anything about it, this means the bank feels that it’s existing customer are there no matter how much spam you push on them

The app is good, but feels laggy sometimes also the back arrow (to go to back screen) is near the clock area on 13 pro. The back gesture is not properly working on some screens. My rewards screen is stuck on white page with back button on the top, which is not working, the back gesture also does not work. You have to force close the app in-order to proceed.
Update: turn off text selection on heading and buttons. Same is for UPI pin entry screen turn off text selection for the number pad on the UPI screen.
Also the bottom swipe gesture bar on iPhones is over the zero button on the UPI pin entry screen. Please adjust that so the we can enter zero without invoking iPhone swipe gesture.

Have been noticing the changes that ICICI has been making to its customers’ banking needs and experience. The current version gives me a consolidated view of all - savings, credit card, loans. Unable to set limit.

I like to set limits for all transactions just because I do not get overboard with spends. Before the previous update I was able to do that just fine, however lately I am unable to set a limit of my choice. Once I set the limits and click on submit a pop-up comes up stating the limit should be between 100 and X amount and limits applied, however once I roll back to previous menu and go to limits section again, the limits are set back to default. Why on earth would anyone give an option to set limit if a customer is limited by a stupid app.
Adding more to this I am having payments for my apple subscriptions getting declined and me updating my payment details in app store over and over again due to this bug in your app.
Get it resolved or be ready for a complaint with RBI as this is cheating in terms of service with the customer. By not allowing a user to set desired limit you’re exposing their liability in case of any fraud.

The app mostly does what it’s supposed to do like transaction details, card limit, and such other general functions. However, there’s an interface issue with the home page of 7.9 version of the app. There is text and border alignment issue as the details on the right side of the screen gets hidden, or not displayed properly. That needs to be fixed.
Also, the bill payment option is limited to certain banks only; I never find the bank which I use to repay the bills. The app should include all the major banks at least (whether public or private) to make the bill repayment easier.

Easily miles ahead of many other bank apps in navigation, features, etc., except for one hitch in the app. The equity prices of the portfolio in the Demat section (in a 3 in 1 account) does not get updated even on a delayed basis during the day!! This has been the status for almost 2 years now. I have complained many times about this but to no avail, despite being a private banking client. It is a big irritant, if the equity prices do not get updated even on a delayed basis, if not in real time, especially when markets are volatile. The situation is such that sometimes the price updates do not happen, even once a day!! Other than this big irritant, the app is a gem.

Indeed, new updated version looks really good however I am bit concerned about the verification of mobile number again if the no mobile range is available e.g. in my house there is no coverage for Airtel but I do have Wifi. I need to go outside home every time to verify mobile if I open app while I am in house.
I think, mobile verification shall be done once or shall be done if mobile power ON/off.

The new version of app which got rolled out is horrible. Every time it asks me to register on the app and send sms to verify mobile number. I do not have a good network reception and use broadband. They throw an error message saying sim is not present. Most Ridiculous Experience in the name of security. I am not able to check my account or make payments from last few hours. I would rather go branch even in middle of this lockdown! Please check how Bofa or Amex does the same thing seamlessly. At least bring back old version of app which was way better.

Buggy Application

There are various bugs in the application (which may be specific to my case only). Some of them are mentioned below.
1. After logging in, the first screen should contain the savings account details, but it doesn’t show. I can only see my two credit cards at the top.
2. UPI icon is not available on the home screen or in anywhere in the menu. I could find it though using the HELP. The UPI icon should be available in the home screen itself just like in the screenshots given in the app description. I don’t know why it is not appearing on my home tab.
3. The application interface is not accurately compatible with the screens of iPhone X and above models. The interface get cut sometimes due to the screen incompatibility issue.
4. The application hangs very frequently.
5. Sometimes we go into the some menu and there’s no back button (no back slide also), so due to that we can’t go back and we have to forcefully close the application and restart the application. This creates the whole process cumbersome.
I am sure there are many more issues which I am unable to recall at this moment.

Was trying to set the transaction limits through iMobile but despite setting the limits as per the minimum & maximum limit given it throws an illogical message that it can be between X & Y only !!
Try string setting the Debit Card PIN but despite punching the correct grid values it’s showing error & not allowing me to set my PIN !!
Horrible experience!! Not sure whether the developer is aware !!

They force for demat account and provide instantly through complete online process. You will not get the same response for closing and it’s complete manual process and they try their level best to frustrate the customer. Without closing of demat account, you can’t close main account. So please don’t go for ICICI demat account.
Following are communication outcomes with customer care in a span of three months and still demat account was not closed,
1) To close the savings account, demat account should be closed.
2) Demat account can be opened online but can’t be closed by means of online.
3) Mail communication sufficient to close the demat account.
4) After giving the mail got the response like, Demat account can’t be closed through mail, account closure form should be submitted.
5) After submitting the demat account closure form, they asked for pan scan copy.
6) After giving the pan copy along with demat account closure form, they saying that mail id was not registered with the account.
7) After linking the mail id, they saying that the submitted closure request form is not in supporting format.
Such a brainless and should be ashamed.

Im using many credit cards. Recently received icici credit card and dowloaded this app. For login it requires registered mobile number . I have opened website in that it is mentioned that mobile number may be registered through ICICI ATM. I went to ATM and tried it is asking from card Pin. I dont have pin. So i went back to home and tried for pin. I have generated 3 d secure pin. Then again I tried in Atm. Again negative. I needs card pin and the only option is visiting the bank.
Now please explain, did ICICI credit card service people, do u people have brains? If u dont believe our mobile number, why u guys calling us asking to apply for credit card. IF OTP from our mobile is not sufficient then dont call us waste our time. Is visiting ur bank that much necessary in these pandemic days?

I mobile not working properly

It seems there is some issue with the app. I have tried with two different phones and with two different phone numbers which are updated in two different accounts. Earlier when I used to enter the password it used to open a Home Screen where all the options were displayed but now in both the phones with two different phone numbers linked to two different accounts the screen is stuck at the password feeding screen and nothing happens on entering the password and I am not able to do anything on the app. Kindly help

I am disappointed with last few updates. Because whenever i update app, everytime it ask me to setup from beginging. Everytime i have to send sms and verify my mobile number and set up all things instead of autologin. These things happen in last 2-3 updates. Please resolve it. New version upgrade to 6.0 is a disaster. App allows to login beyond which the application stops working. Reason being a pop up Apply Now comes up, which cannot be by passed. This version does not have location services, however the options in the pop up pages loops in insisting on pop up. Entire mobile banking experience has come to a stand still. This needs an immediate fix, considering the current social distancing requirement. Can’t the developers test the application before release?

My account is already linked to user ID and mobile number , I had already register my mobile through ATM service one week Ago , but still couldn’t login to iMobile . What hell is this the customer responded saying I don’t have internet banking , from the branch side they had updated everything . There is no response from iMobile developer for my mails

Only thing which i want to advice is please give a review of payback points earned by icci debit / credit card. You should be showing analysis of how many points ( payback ) earned on how much amount of transaction on which shop or retailer or any purchase! It’s something similar how axis bank show their axis edge rewards earned by their customers on which transaction & how much points under. Points transaction menu! I wish to be such a feature in ICCI MOBILE APP TOO

This App Lacks So Many Things, For Starters Let's Just Talk About UI/UX Which Is Really Really Bad. This App Takes 5-6 Seconds Before You Could Log In, Secondly This App Is Partly Compatible With iPhone Devices Having Notch Display. Sometimes The Fonts Are Too Big, The Time Is Half Visible While Usig The App On Top Of Phone Screen. Now, If We Talk About The Features This App Lacks The Basic Things Like You Can't See Unbilled Transaction ( Which Hasn't Been Settled Yet) Suppose You Make A Payment Using Your Credit Card That Transaction Takes At Least 3 Days Before It Can Be Displayed On App. Other Than That Non-ICICI Bank Customers Who Use This App For Their Credit Card They Can't Pay Their Bill, The Pay Bill Option Doesn't Work For Non-ICICI Saving Account Holder. If Suppose You Have Made A Payment Of Your Credit Card Using Third Party App, There Is No Way You Can Check Your Payment History In App. I Think ICICI Bank Should Invest More Money In IT Sector And Improve Everything That's Wrong With This App.

Overlapping texts, Trucated numbers and more

Team - I am on latest ios and using my iPhone 6s. I used to like the icici app, but the current design lacks user friendliness. The account and credit card summary boxes on top show overlapping and truncated texts. The credit card summary doesn’t show my current pending amount or my balance. What use is that for any user? These are UI design flaws. I have emailed the icici mobile team with screenshots quite sometime back, but dont see and responses. I hope the team makes necessary changes soon.

Hello...all other banks like sbi RBL etc have provided the facility to directly pay their credit card bills via their app via internet banking or debit card payment from other banks even if you don’t have a savings account or checking account with them and the payment gets credited to the credit card immediately but your app has not implemented any such facility always we have to use the click2pay feature and have to wait for 3 business days for the amount to get credited to the credit card and if there is any holiday we have to wait for more than 3 business days since we don’t have any savings or checking account with you in order to pay directly ....
Please try to implement the feature of paying the credit card bill directly via the app using the net banking or debit card payments from other banks...
Your app just provides only the basic information such as due amount statement that’s it..,
Hope u will improve ur app with more features in the future upgrades...

The update has a great new User Interface. Love the new Analytics feature called “Discover” introduced which gives you a spending overview, expense timeline, upcoming scheduled expenses, status of service requests.
What I loved the most was the Cashflow Analysis and estimated budget analysis explained by colourful bar graphs. Its like having my personal Excel sheet of expenses which summarises my expenses for me in all kinds if ways.
There is also a Knowledge Horizon section, which gives you really helpful tips on saving money, taking insurances and others..
Happy to see that ICICI has taken a step ahead and gone beyond conventional banking practices by introducing features which not only help you transact your money, but also advices you to manage and save it well. A job neatly done!

Worst app

Worst app and bad customer support. Response or solution is not given. I have installed pocket app some years ago. Recently I had my salaried account in Icici. Now they are not able to add my phone number because of the unused pocket app. I cannot use my atm card for online service and my internet banking is also not working. Customer care is denying to delete pockets app. They are suggesting to change my salary account to different bank or I should purchase a different sim or phone number. Such a great bank is Icici. The app doesn’t show any closure of pockets account. Customer care and bank employees could not locate where is closing link. But they say I should close from my mobile only. I am planning close my salaried account if the issue will not be resolved in a week.

Issue with activation

I have experienced an issue while trying to install the latest version where it asks for activation of the app every time. The reason being, we can select an mpin option or internet banking password option while installing the app, but if we select the check box of Use Touch ID, the real issue happens. For the first time it will allow us to login, but from second time on wards, the application will ask for activation again which is the problem. So to avoid this, choose only one option of use mpin or internet banking password or Touch ID, but do not mix two options like mpin and Touch ID. Hope all the affected users find this review as helpful.
