App runs smoothly and the basic task of reading is fine, but it lacks features. Even changing stuff like the layout/theme is unnecessarily painful (in full screen) because the menu bar activates so easily with it.

I realized the value of the Kindle app only when I moved abroad and couldn't carry my entire library with me. Most features are very good but I wish we had the ability to organize books of similar types into folders e.g. I would put all my Maths and Stats books in one folder, crime fiction in one, and all samples (separate from purchased book) in another folder. It is particularly irritating to have samples mixed with purcahses, even if Kindle gives me the ability to filter. Another thing I would like is to be able to purchase books on an Apple device itself.

The most basic feature while reading a book on a Mac is that Continuous Scrolling feature is by default available. Not a single view editor option that is available in the iPad version is not here in the Mac version. A long way to go for this app to even become usable on Mac.

Would it not be useful and an attractive feature to have the ability to scribble using Apple Pencil on the books….like we do on paper. Typing the notes is just so tedious and un-natural. Moreover, not everything you want to scribble can be typed.

i'd say, it has most of the useful features and keeps getting updated.
it may have few feature less than other compettitor. But so far as reading a text is concerned, Kindle does a decent job.
Personally, i'd request a feature to have annoations (drawing, scribbling) available on books (at least PDF) on all devices and software.

1) Please provide ability to LOCK THE COLLECTION on Kindle Paperwhite.. it’s more useful than device lock. #URGENT
2) UNDERLINE : since Kindle is a B&W device, underline feature would be very suited and helpful alongside Highlight. And this under the Notes would show as - the Highlighted part would be in BOLD font, and Underlined part in NORMAL font. Eliminating the need for notes as it is today. To say - underline to note. Also having this system would help differentiate important from very important.
3) Completely do away with info under notes or highlights from Notes. Just arrange it sequentially as posted, that’s enough.
4) Vocabulary builder : multiple select in vocabulary builder to delete unwanted words which Kindle Paperwhite adds the moment you touch a word even to highlight or note.
#Kindle Paperwhite (More than app, your Kindle Devices need the above features. They are simply and will transform the reading experience.. along with removing the not so logical glitches).

The Kindle app helped me continue my reading habits by allowing me to access and read my books in short snippets and throughout the day. iPad Pro keyboard suddenly stopped working to go to the next pages. I used to use the arrow keys on the magic keyboard to go to the next page and suddenly one day it stopped working. Now swipe to the next page on the screen.
The magic keyboard is otherwise working well, in fact I am typing this review on the keyboard only.

Love paper back books too but in this time of covid 19 and during business travels, kindle comes in handy. I have a good collection of books in my kindle library

Reading has become so much easier for me - no need to store a whole lot of books on the shelves, easy on the eyes, option to read across devices, in built dictionary etc etc. I’m really glad and thankful that such an innovation has come for us book lovers ❤️

Hi I’m trying to read my books in dark mode but app shows some random behaviour. Even though I set dark mode app doesn’t switch into it instantly. it either lags or switch back to light. also even after setting dark mode i see book visible in light mode. consistently it showing light mode even setting dark mode when you either click back of open any book to read. please fix this asap. it’s hurting my eyes

I purchased my first book in digital reading platform, and I’m quite impressed by your given facilities but in first purchase I face unorganised page number of the book.
Second function I felt which should be there is note taking , you should provide a function of note taking it’ll help readers to consume more out of a book.
I hope you’ll take note and try to achieve “customer satisfaction” and ultimately this became your “identity”.

The Kindle App for iPhone is pretty good! I am using this on a 6S Plus and I think the big screen helps.
I do have some feedback though: I want Kindle to auto sort books by a single author in the same collection. And for books in a series like Harry Potter, I am also looking for sort by order in the series.
I also want the Export Notes Feature to be available here from where I can export the notes as PDF or CSV as available on the Kindle devices.

Kindle is not working properly and getting stuck while using after recent update. Kindly resolve the issue immediately as it is wasting time while reading. We have to relaunch the kindle every time it get stuck and after some time it is getting stuck again. While navigating through pages it is getting stuck.

I own a Kindle device and have a collection of books. Occasionally I seek to read a book of a different genre simultaneously. The Kindle app enables me to enjoy this luxury on my iPad. It’s just like having an extra Kindle - the same return to last page read, the same flexibility in fonts, page layout and light settings. I just love having both- it’s truly the best of two worlds.

Please add the following features:
1.Extensive, stylus based note taking should be enabled on the books. As of now, only highlighting, adding quick notes is supported on the app, which doesn’t really match up with note taking capabilities of basic PDF Viewing softwares these days.
2.Enable offline mode in the app, which only contains the books in the library. The suggestions are often irrelevant, and features like ‘Top Page Turners’, ‘Most Wished For Kindle Books’ etc., gives this app a social media like feel instead of a no-nonsense book reading app. Enable the above feature as a preference in settings, which the user can toggle on/off based on their choices.
3.The app should save the user preferences, and fire up the same way as the user intends to.

Using kindle app for years, It helped me to increase my understanding in various subjects. The dictionary option is really a winning point when compared to hard copy readings. Highlight, note making, switching between pages are accurate. I use kindle app mostly in my Ipad. The feel of reading an ebook in a big screen is awesome. As a reader i enjoy it a lot.

I signed up with kindle just wanted to try it for sometime. As my kids and me were not keen, now I really wanna unsubscribe to this. After multiple attempts I have failed and even now I have been charged and I am not able to unsubscribe to it.
Looks like these people are trying to vandalise us in a polished and well mannered way.

This app hangs a lot now, plus the screen goes blank whenever i open this app, this also happens when i toggle to continuous scrolling or click on the middle of the screen. Plus a lot of earlier customised setting options are missing now which were good.

Kindle versions of popular books are a great way to enjoy your reading hobby. Easy to flip pages back and forth, no problem of book-dust making you sneeze. You can copy sections and make notes as you read on. You can check facts on the WWW, look up meanings of words and do so much more. Books we have read once stay on book shelves collecting dust. Not so with these. I don’t want to go back to paper books.

Kindle is excellent gift for book lovers. But suggest you to add some features.
1. I should have option to arrange List of purchased books according to my priorities.
2. I should have option to mark book as read, half-read etc.
3. I should have option to write some notes and star ratings in Main books list page and within text of the book.
This will make my huge library easy to manage and navigate.

Not syncing to my iPad

I usually read on my Samsung note when travelling and make highlights . Then when I open these books on my iPad , I find that they have not synced the highlights. I manually sync multiple times, then restart both devices and then sync manually again. Still same problem. I check the updates and then go to the kindle help page but then lose patience and I quit. Sync works on kindle for pc though.

Kindle app is very good. Nice varieties of books are available. Recommendations are also good, though it can give incremental suggestions based on browsing history and also user tastes. Books available in Kindle unlimited and prime membership could be differentiated and shown. Also, equally the books in Indian languages can be shown more clearly. Looking forward for new fonts for regional and great features in near future. Thanks ! :)

It has an ample collection of books. If you are a booky install it.
As kindle prices are low, you can save some money.
App has all built- in modules to help you understand the appropriate word.
Finally, if you play video games experience it but don’t merge in it. It teaches you minimal skills(stuck down on a level). If you choose books rather than video games you’ll know the language, vocabulary, yourself, others mindset, etc. which can’t be measured(something new to learn).

I’ve been using the app for quite sometime now. Earlier I used to read on Google Books. The reason among many is I love continues scrolling which Google books lacks. The UI clean. The only problem I see is table of content is invisible. When you start a book you can see all chapters. Close the app and come back again and go to table of content they are gone. Fix it.

This kindle app would really be perfect if a ability to link it to any preferred dictionary app could be incorporated within it. The default dictionary to which it links is extremely limiting, compelling one to refer a different app which is cumbersome. I use “Merriam-Webster” and it would be nice if it could be linked and made a default, amongst many other that could be selected as a personal choice. Thanks.

Very useful app. I have been using it, and over the years it has only improved. Navigating within a book is far easier than before. One suggestion though - please consider providing a “floating” note taking feature. Right now, one can write a note at a particular point of the text that is relevant for that point. However, for heavy academic reading, it is also necessary to keep a “running” to summarise the reading as one proceeds, a note that can be called at any point during the reading. This would be really useful I think.

I was planning to take my Kindle when ,I was leaving India to visit US, in addition to I Pad for games and entertainment. But, I came to know this application and loaded it in my I Pad. Now I use this application in my I Pad for reading kindle books , when I am away from home, where I use kindle. I find this application as user friendly and having all major utilities of Kindle here.
