Worst trading app

Very Bad experience not user friendly. You should visit Zerodha or groww. Difficult to find options even you can’t download statement of MF from app. Many services are available in desktop version only. U must overhaul this app to stand in competition.

Complicated

The app is so complicated to use especially GTT. Why is the GTT made so tough? Other apps let you place a GTT so simply. I have watched so many videos and placing a GTT option is not the same on the app compared to the videos.

Why make pin compulsory?

Why have made creating a PIN compulsory for logging in. PINS are harder to remember if different for different Apps, and easier to break.
I prefer logging in using a password for trading and banking apps.
They have done the same for iMobile.

Full of bugs and lag

It is one of the worst trading apps. It has a lot of lag and bugs. It is one of the slowest. You end of losing a lot of money. The research recommendations (especially future segment) are designed to hit SL and people lose money. The research recommendations in other segments are also misleading.

Best user friendly App

I have been using this since last 19 years. In between I tried different App. But there is no App even near to this platform of ICICI DIRECT.
Very transparent and easy to use. And best thing is everything is Cristal clear. No bluff and no one can get in to our App. Very secure.

Good App - But needs improvement

Investment is superfast if u have icici acct. But recent changes on importing external holdings is a mess. I am unable to refresh that for the last three months once after import and it still shows older holdings. Default view shud be ICICI Direct holdings but can have options to show externals but shud have the ability unimport or to show the last user saved preference settings. Every time I have to change the filter to remove or uncheck the external holdings

Super App

Issue with rate updation

In the live market many times the rates don’t get updated giving the real time PnL. I have to close the app and restart it. Even nifty and other indices show incorrect picture.
This has started happening post new app. Earlier app was best for which we were paying premium cost. Current app is way below the other apps

Recent changes not great

I would have given 5 star but due to recent changes which are not user friendly I am rating the app 4 star… the latest change as on 1-April the look and feel has become poor and obstructive… too much area on the top section is eaten up by less information like sensex nifty etc. and it is too glaring in orange… then the previous change on the graph view… while I appreciate that the detailed technical graph is added but added as default is not friendly for regular users… I suggest having a view option where user can select which graph view one wants to view based in their proficiency… the recent changes are actually hindering faster navigation and demotivating users to use the tool easily…

Not such a good app for trading

I have been using the ICICI iDirect app for the past 2 months, and my experience has been very disappointing. The app is not at all reliable for trading. It takes too much time to execute both buy and sell orders, which directly impacts trading performance. Becoz of this delay, I have faced more losses than profits. In trading, timing is very important, and this app fails in that aspect.
I’ve already raised this issue with my Relationship Manager, but unfortunately, there has been no improvement. The problem still continues. This is causing a lot of frustration and financial loss. Based on my experience, I would strongly suggest others consider better trading apps instead of iDirect.

Pathetic customer support ReKyc issues from 2 months

Even after getting ReKyc done 2 months back, the app and site keeps saying it is under review and will be done in 3 days. Customer support email has been useless and telephonic support is more bad. Instead of solving the issue, they were asking me to try different ways to bypass and go for trading option! They are not even bothered to loose customer due to that. ICICI Direct should understand that there as many other good options available to customers now and it won’t take time to loose customers with this kind of issues and attitude.

Frustrating UI

Recently moved from Kite to ICICI Direct. It's a nightmare in terms of UX. Too much information thown upfront with so many tabs right on you face. Brokerage charges hidden 2 level deep while placing order. Tools has Stocks, F&O and MF options. Menu also has Stocks, F&O and MF options. Not at all user friendly. Web version is even worse. Executed orders doesn't show P&L. I thought of moving portfolio from Zerodha to here, but dropped the idea. Whoever is designing this UX, is good a putting al lot of information on single page but clearly has no idea about how to do it in a user-friendly way. Was expecting better from ICICI.

Bad design, low on user friendliness

This app is not intuitive at all. Your portfolio doesn’t have all your stocks, you can’t find ways to allocate and when you do for some reason or other you can’t. Anyways no problem anymore as I am moving other demat but feel sorry as what kind of product design they are doing in modern times. I wanted to be with the bank despite of charges for everything but looks like ICICI doesn’t want customers , neither here nor in bank.

ICICI direct mobile app review for F&O

Accessibility:
1. To see chart of an option strike already added in watchlist, 5 navigations needed after opening the app: watchlist->choose the watchlist-> tap on the strike->tap on the chart -> tap on candles. Even if you go through F&O, nifty option chain it is the case. So, when you are trading and want to see chart of another strike it’s a pain. This can be made far simpler. Chart can be viewed with just one tap on a button near strike.
2. Flash trade: Open-> tools->f&o->flash trader. It’s a pain. It can be just a button on home page.
3. Flash trade: default is a line chart and 1min time frame. Where to change this default? I couldn’t figure out. Pain pain pain.
4. Flash trade: using “save and load indicator templates” is full of bugs e.g. save couple of indicator templates along with interval and symbol. Try loading the later. Chart is correct but the strike to trade does not match.
5. Flash trade: get out of it and open it again. Loaded template lost and default settings appear. Pain pain pain. It’s not all a “quick and simple way”.
6. Flash trade: This feature looks totally non-sense. On each option/future chart you can just provide the buttons to trade like in flash trade.

No GTT option available

Having used this app for almost a year now, I have found several key features missing.
First and foremost, is the non availability of creating or modifying GTT options. This can only be done in the ICICI Direct website (which looks like a mid 2000s website).
Another problem is that even after I have mandated all the stocks in my demat to ICICI Direct, the GTT Sell orders are not getting executed.
As a retail investor, I do not check the prices of the stocks frequently. Therefore, I would like it if the GTT got triggered and I could prevent further losses.
Zerodha has its own Console, which shows the performance of the user's portfolio as compared to market benchmarks like the NIFTY 50 index. This feature is not at all there in ICICI Direct's website or the app.
ICICI Securities team must note these points to become a heavy competitor of Zerodha or Groww in the contemporary period.

Need improvement in watchlist and portfolio section

The ICICI Direct app is robust but would greatly benefit from a more user-friendly watchlist and clearer position tracking. I would like to suggest the following improvements, which would significantly enhance the user experience:
Simplify and Clean Up the Watchlist: The current watchlist should be simplified, with a clean design. There is no need for predefined or default watchlists—users should be able to create and customize their lists freely. Additionally, displaying a chart next to each stock name creates unnecessary clutter; instead, only the percentage change or absolute price movement should be shown for each stock.
Stock View Clarity: When selecting a stock from the watchlist, the default view should not immediately display a chart. Instead, provide a clear interface with BUY and SELL buttons, along with key market information such as bid/ask prices, market depth, and low/high prices. A separate button can be provided for users who wish to view the chart.
Comprehensive Position Tracking: In the Positions section, overall profit and loss details should be displayed, even after positions have been closed. Currently, day-wise profit and loss are not shown at a glance; implementing this feature is essential for active traders and investors.
These improvements are highly needed and would make the app interface much more efficient and easy to use. I request the product team to consider and implement these changes as a priority. I look forward to these updates and am ready to provide additional suggestions once these key issues are resolved.

Not user friendly & Technically not advanced

After multiple complaints they don’t have solutions, they have many apps and call center team is confusing customers. If app is not working then check desktop. Also many features are not available on application. Trading is tedious.
I am using this only for MTF because of my worst experience.
Other charges are very high compared to other brokers. I have taken prime 9999 which is highest plan. Very disappointed with services. I felt like looted .
Sooner will go to sebi & consumer forum for investigation against icici direct

A clunky experience for traders

As one of the oldest players in the broking industry, ICICI Direct has a legacy, but it falls short of being a trader’s preferred choice. The app is overloaded with information, creating a cluttered interface that overwhelms rather than empowers. Traders need a streamlined experience—clean charts, intuitive navigation, and quick access to essential features—but ICICI Direct’s app feels like a maze.
Placing an order is a tedious process, taking significantly longer than competitors like Zerodha or Upstox. In fast-moving markets, these extra seconds can cost traders thousands of rupees. Even basic tasks, like modifying or increasing trading limits, are unnecessarily complicated, adding to the frustration. Fund transfers, a critical feature for any trading app, are not prominently placed, forcing users to dig through menus.
ICICI Direct needs to shed the excess weight from its app. A dedicated trader’s page with simplified charts, faster order execution, and clear fund transfer options would make a world of difference. Until these issues are addressed, the app remains a cumbersome choice for active traders.

No Benchmark comparison and No XIRR

You guys have nicely removed the XIRR section when it was not working, i have been waiting since very long for the same.
There is no option to compare my portfolio returns with the benchmark, when all other apps are providing whats stopping you from bringing these small features.

Three Days, Still No Access – Worst App Experience

I’m genuinely not sure what this app is trying to do anymore. Most of the time, whenever I try to log in, I get the same error: “Something went wrong. Unable to fetch data. Please try again later.”
It’s been three days now, and I still can’t log in through the app. Ironically, the dashboard version works fine — but the app is completely non-functional.
I’m honestly at a loss. There’s no clear support, no proper escalation path, and when I try calling, the people I speak to don’t seem to have any clue.
This is by far the worst app experience I’ve ever had. Unless something changes immediately, I’ll have no option but to move out. I’m planning to do that starting tomorrow.
Strongly recommend others to avoid this app until it becomes stable and responsive. Very disappointing.

Good App for investors

Hello team, Very good App experience, Im using more than 2 years, but kindly update some features like chart trading(web,app both) most brokers provided this but icici direct still not providing, also customize single page viewing for orders, position, chart..etc(Angel one provide this on App,Web), if i open perticular strike price then back to dashboard, again if i go to option chain that particular strike price shows 0 , once i close the app and reopen then will show value. kindly fix this issue.

Par from other peer investment apps

I must say that I have explored this app thoroughly and it gives options of investments like etf stock sip, mf which everyone provides but the options of nps, bonds, global invest, one click premium and it’s favour for icici direct customers and icici bank customers is a very comfortable experience. The deduction from bank icici happens smoothly and no need to add money in some kind of wallet to do investment. The app is very good if someone is not only fan of stocks or mf. More way to go, hope many more investment options are introduced in future

Issues related to notification.

There is major issue for MTf traders as well as fno trader that we donot get any notification when there is margin short fall . Instead of having premium member my position are auto squared off without any margin shortfall notification pls do fix such a big issues so that one can get some time to add required fund

App feedback

Overall App is good with PL/Cap Gains added. However in Portfolio sequence of RHS should have been same as previous app version UPL, Realised PL and LTP. Migration to new screen creates a challenge. Also view of Global, Gainers/Losers was much easy to navigate in old app. Please restore those views as classic view or whatever.
And where does find Nifty500 and other indices as were in the old Market App? Its needing me to use alternate App open to check those

Very Complex app

The app is not at all user friendly.. we can not buy and sell anything easily.. it is filled with all complexities… a common man with minimum market knowledge can not operate this app.. I have added funds bought a pe option and I struggled alot to close that because we dont exit option in it.. I somehow closed that pe option in loss because by the time i found out way the price went below my strike.. then i wanted to take my funds back to my icic account and it doesnt allow me to do that .. it is throwing some error saying margin is yet to be debited and I can not withdraw funds.. no support in chat.. this is really painful..

Best of All

One of the nicest trading app amongst all the modern and current brokers. Useful and easy to access. All features are available on mobile app only.
If you can improve one things, please rename the app name to “iDirect”, so it can fit with the icon style. The name is too big to fit under icon. As an UI lover, I am sure everyone will like it to see short. 😜

Incorrect market prices showing in the app while purchasing

From past 1 week i am seeing differences in the stock prices between online and direct app. In the direct app i see more price while buying the stock. Not sure if this is a technical issue but for some of the stocks in my portfolio i can’t see the current market value of the stock. Event after i reached out to customer support also there is no resolution on this.

The 3rd grade platform

Dear Reader,
I’m using this application more than 3 years and in a initial stage it’s look like a professional site but when I was start facing issue then I was able to understand that the team they have they are just “GOOD FOR NOTHING”.
The Backend team is one of the worst team ever, both CC team on call and on email both are idiotic and don’t know how to resolve issue (I had sent more than 20 times email include grivinence team but most of the time get automated response and very few response from CC team but wrong resolution).
Till date this platform shows you wrong data especially in fundamental data, you will get 3 different in their site one in fundamental segment, one in their research paper and another in financial segment. All 3 not match with each other, also they suggest you some shares for long time and withdraw suddenly without any notice (even though no stop less has been mentioned on those shares).
As a exiting customer its my open feedback test upto you guys.
I had already reduce my portfolio and reduce more soon.
Only good part is their stock alert “SMS” facility which is not working sometime.

I mostly love this app

I have been doing trading on ICICIdirect for few months now
But one thing I wanted to know why is the UI so bad in The IPO section I mean the buy button isn’t properly in centre and there is a white banner around it which is so weird
And it is more worse in dark mode. Just look into it and get it updated fast. Because it’s been going on since so long.

The new Mututal Fund menu option changes

While I rate the icicidirect app the best amongst all other peer options from other Securities brokerage houses, I find the recent changes to the mutual fund option in icicidirect very cumbersome for the IOS platform. Invariably I chose the “back to old MF” option since neither scrolling is possible nor navigation within the MF menu option possible without acrobatics with the phone or pinching the menu. I do understand that all updates or changes are to make the product better, this particular chane in the MF menu needs more tweaking to make it customer friendly.

Issues with refund

I had applied for an IPO, which did not get allocated to me. The refund money I can see on the app, but I cannot put it back into my account. This part is extremely cumbersome on the app. Several calls on the customer care number have yielded to nothing. They have just one answer. If you want to book any stock, let us know rest of the things we cannot help you with.

Very user unfriendly compared to other broking apps

With such a rich legacy of banking and broking, it’s unfortunate that the development team is unable to create an app that is user friendly. The app doesn’t share any insights or even basic information on how much the investment has grown / degrown over a period of time. Seems like the only reason to create the app was to give some possibility to invest on mobile and nothing else. Makes one want to shift platforms. Hope the team thinks more on the lines of CX than just bare bone functionality.

Older version was way more better than the newer one

Older version was user friendly, all options were easily available and accessible, it is difficult to find services in newer version , and it does not show accurate investment numbers , it is so bad that the branch itself could not figure it out why the amount is not accurately displayed.
I had to pay 3 visit for the same issue for icici direct app and they could not fix it.
My website version shows different investment amount and my mobile app version shows something else, and same case with net-worth amount.

Old version

Icici direct is always try to give best experience to their customers. But changing to this new version is real pain. This new version is not user friendly like previous one.
Let me understand what new features have added in new version??? In fact on every steps need to find out various options and location . What is where?
Simple buy / sell button option is also removed. How to check my Demate holding ? Order book / trade book / fund allocation / MTF / FNO. Was perfectly placed in earlier version. Here need to search all the time. Please keep the old version format where lacs of users are habituated to old version.
What you need to upgrade is speed and your users capacity at backend. Front end was really superb compare to all other bank trading platforms
Pls do the needful.
It’s like harassment finding all the options now in new version.

Worst support

Tried to contact but no answer while opening demat account they will tell you lots of things but when the actual support is required nobody is available I am not able to login to my account it is saying you need to activate infact I have made a trade on it previously and now when I called the relationship manager he is asking me to visit center and fill up the kyc form, and I guess this can be done digitally online as well, when I asked for the same no answer from either side. This makes me to have a pathetic experience and move to some other demat trading application at least there I will not face such goof ups.

Missed the bright side

I would love to see ICICI Ditrect consider implementing a customizable theme option, allowing users to choose between a bright or dark background based on their preferences. Additionally, streamlining the interface to maintain the app's user-friendly nature would go a long way in retaining the simplicity that attracted users in the first place.
Despite my reservations about the recent changes, I appreciate the app's reliability when it comes to executing trades and accessing real-time market data. The core functionality remains intact, and I hope that future updates will address the concerns raised by users who, like me, miss the bright and user-friendly design of the previous version.
while the new ICICI Direct update has introduced some improvements, the departure from the app's original brightness and simplicity may leave some users feeling a bit lost. Features to be added in the new app about “Open Positions”

There are many features “Filter & Sort” available in the another app “ICICI Direct-Markets” under the “Open Positions”, which is very much useful to quickly filter/sort and to buy/sell the stocks based on “Profit/Loss/MTF date, ...” Whereas, these features are not available in this new app. Pl incorporate these features in the new app as well.

Some old functions missing.

I was really comfortable using old app but this new app does not cater everything what was there in the old one .
It does not show open position separately for equity , F&O which is usually required to know and square off position . It also does not show if any of the MTF need additional margin which is also important to know frequently for people who do MTF trading , otherwise position will be squares off automated due to margin short fall.
It will also not show you NSDL link to confirm your margin position everyday for MTF traded stocks . Also I can’t see YTD portfolio anywhere in the app.

Worst update ever

New app is garbage it is not at all user friendly. When I try to open the app with the use of biometrics it only takes a touch ID and not face ID .The new app is very clustered I am not at all easy to use all of the things look like they are mashup and it is very uncomfortable to use the app please make it simpler.

App crash when you order buy or sell. And take time for execute your order.

If you want to convert your profit in loss so you can open accounts is this app. I’m oparet trading account in this company last 1 to 2 year,but Now I’m going to close my icici direct account because whenever I try ordering to sell or buy, app get some time to execute and some time crash during order. Today I lost my all running profit because this problem and make loss and not a single time it’s multiple time same problem. I’m don’t referring any my friend and relatives for your application.

User friendliness gone !!

The earlier app was much simple and easy to use. The interface was easy, now it looks very complicated.. seeing the current stock list v/s how they are performing. Also manage funds , myNetworth feature (is gone).. or it is very difficult to find it.
If the interface remains same, there are more chances of error.
Hope the old interface comes back, else will have to check to move to other application in coming days. Thanks !

New Trading Windows

Actually I was comfortable with the earlier trading window which is very user friendly and oldies are tuned to use that software. When there is change in Trading software introduced some months back , I am not comfortable. Currently after using for a week it is OK but I could miss some of the informations like Traded Value from the Trade in the new software which need to be looked into. The earlier facility should not be withdrawn for customers

Can’t understand from where one need to place order for NRML & MTF.
One more issue, if one wants to look into open positions which needed to converted for delivery or Re purchase , then Date Filter is missing. Does the developer thought we should check manually one by one of all My open positions & find which is going to expire today.

Disaster

Why would you develop such a nonsense app..black back ground and neo colours in any way is just looking like we are entering in some cheap disco theque .. it’s confusing as well .. Neither user friendly not soothing to the eyes .. Your Momentum picks are very Good but dont under stand that why your Options recommendations are pathetic. Icici is big Brand but has poor Technical Ananlyst who give miserable Options Calls. Mutual Funds view does not load

Hi, for some reason, the Mutual Funds view (within Portfolio) does not load any mutual funds. It just keeps showing that "circle" (similar to hourglass) that we get when items are loading, but the list never loads! I literally waited for over 3 minutes, but couldn't see even a single mutual fund that I have in my portfolio. Also, surprisingly, even the Overview tab doesn't show my mutual fund holdings! Very strange! The website on my desktop displays everything correctly, but this new all-in-one app doesn't!

There is no option to see Trading Average value

There is no place to see average price per share and total quantities in executed order after applying filter. It was available in previous app. If one script is traded under multiple orders in same day then I need to wait till contract note comes on second day or go to web login to see the average price for particular stock and total quantity bought or sold. HDFC App is much better and ICICI team removed this useful and much needed feature from this new app which was there in previous app. Average and total quantity of a particular stock is much needed since no one is so free to use calculator to calculate total trading and find average price manually. Now I hate ICICI Direct app and tech team is giving me no response regarding the same. Average and total quantity is useful that they provide in contract note so why not give that option in executed order when filter is applied for any particular script traded under multiple orders. SO DISSAPOINTED BY APP UPDATE.

Still app is behaving immature

There are lot bugs and lags with the app. While doing squareoff sometimes it will freakout to complete the order in FnO. This app yet to get more stable and easy for options trading. In bank nifty there is a lot size cap for buying and selling and this will eat up your profits while buying or selling.
And one more thing is there is no consolidated FnO trades profits or loss for the same day. It will just accumulate all previous days and this makes confuse ghat how much we had made with the present trade.

Doesn’t update prices on fly

While the app is good in terms of look, feel and security, it is not updating the prices on the fly. I have to close and open the app, to get updated prices/values if it is left idle for few minutes. Yet another aspect that needs consideration is allowing the user to download reports like trade-book, demat holdings, capital gains etc in excel. As of now, all these reports can be seen.

Create Basket Orders

See Team from my last review I Think I got a Update and Slightly Improved in Speed. Great App!

I really love all the icici products - iMobile pay , ICICIdirect. ICICI makes it a point that you can do your banking, trading from your mobile itself without opening up a laptop. There is just one suggestion for the ICICIDirect app. Could you implement single sign on(SSO) for the connected apps like Sensibull. I see that it’s already implemented on the web version. Would love to have it on mobile as well. Right now, logging into sensibull via ICICIdirect login is a hassle.

Great, all in one app

Really this is the app i was looking for. i moved away from icici direct for the reason there is no one single comprehensive app. Now this app combining with security backed by a bank encourages to stick with icici direct. Good work by developer and those who designed this.
updated on 04/10: Just want to another feature which i liked. The app provides whatsapp notification with a view same as we see in portfolio. 🙂

Excellent App

Comprehensive app that gives a consolidated view of my portfolio across products. It’s easy to understand, simple to use and at the same time provides access to all investment or trading products plus MF, deposits, insurance, etc. I see a phenomenal change over the previous version and look forward to using this more often. Just the right depth and breadth for a user like me.
