Description

With the goal of reaching out to large numbers of smartphone users the new mAadhaar is released by Unique Identification Authority of India. The App features an array of Aadhaar services and a personalised section for the Aadhaar holder who can carry their Aadhaar information in form of a soft copy, instead of carrying a physical copy all the time.
The key features in mAadhaar:
Multilingual : In order to ensure the Aadhaar Services are accessible to linguistically diverse residents of India, the menu, button labels and form fields are provided in English as well as in 12 Indian languages (Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). After installation the user will be prompted to select any of the preferred language. However the input fields in the forms will accept data entered in English language only. This is done to help user avoid facing the challenges of typing in regional languages (due to limitation in the mobile keyboards).
Universality: Resident with or without Aadhaar can install this App in their smart phones. However to avail personalised Aadhaar services the resident will have to register their Aadhaar Profile in the App.
Aadhaar Online Services on Mobile: The mAadhaar user can avail the featured services for themselves as well as for any other resident seeking Aadhaar or related help.
The functionalities are broadly grouped as :
Main Service Dashboard : Direct access to download Aadhaar, Order an Reprint, Address Update, Download offline eKYC, Show or Scan QR Code, Verify Aadhaar, Verify mail/email, retrieve UID/EID, Request for Address Validation Letter
Request Status Services : To help resident check status of various online requests.
My Aadhaar: This is a personalised section for Aadhaar holder where resident will not have to enter their Aadhaar number to avail Aadhaar services. In addition this section also provides facility for the resident to lock/unlock their Aadhaar or Biometric Authentication.
Aadhaar Locking – Aadhaar holder can lock their UID/Aadhaar number anytime they wish. 
Biometric locking/unlocking secures biometric authentication by locking biometrics data. Once resident enables Biometric Locking system their biometric remains locked till the Aadhaar Holder chose to either unlock it (which is temporary) or Disable the Locking system.
TOTP generation – Time-based One-Time Password is an automatically generated temporary password which can be used instead of SMS based OTP.
Update of profile – To updated view of Aadhaar profile data after successful completion of update request.
Sharing of QR code and eKYC data by Aadhaar Number holder helps Aadhaar user share their password protected eKYC or QR code for safe and paperless verification.
Multi-profile: Aadhaar holder can include multiple (upto 3) profiles (with same registered mobile number) in their profile section.
Locate Enrolment Center helps user find nearest Enrolment Center.

In Telugu we have a saying word for anyone not doing there job .. this app is “pichakuntla” app… which has no use rather than generating OTP .. Install & uninstall the app to avoid above error but no use. So many times tried OTP’s generated to do this, all will be shown Aadhar authentication history. Fix this issue to avoid such errors. Uninstall the app and not interested to install again.

One of the worst app I have seen, I don’t know if UIDAI doesn’t have expertise to build mobile application or maintain the infrastructure, then why not outsource the project to some credible team or company.
Even a college graduate can read the tutorials and build a better application than this. Why the confidential and crucial data of all citizen is in hands of UIDAI?
No resilient Infrastructure, 99%. It just stop working and display something went wrong. OTP server stops responding, backend server stops responding.
Did the app development team ever heard of Application Testing or Quality Analyst?

I locked my Aadhaar & Biometrics too. Now even the process of SMS system or Online system or even this App is unable to unlock the same. I tried to get OTP to unlock, each time the Aadhaar system informs for “Technical Exception”. Helpline personnel’s are confused as to use the last 4 digit or last 6 digits further also not aware either of Aaadhaar No. or the Virtual ID. Every thing is now hanged up. I am facing issues since last one week continuously. No one in Aadhaar Organization is “clear” as to how to get my Aadhaar unlocked. All repeat the same things on helpline no.: your name, state, SMS to 1947((RVID xxxx, GETOTP xxxx, UNLOCKUID xxxx XXXX), but all results in vain. Shameful for such a big organisation.

If you want to get all the personal details of the country on a single infrastructure then please ensure that the backbone and the servers are up to that capacity. The servers are not at all able to handle the load and drop every time. Everything comes to a standstill.

All you lovely people might have heard this line before. This is exactly what I believe it is.
After multiple attempts i was not able to create a profile. I typed in my Aadhar number and otp repeatedly that I almost memorized it. Everytime it says error. The funny thing is that I wrote a feed back in the app and as soon as I hit the submit button, internal error. This is what happens when the app developers are not paid for their job. What a shame ! Very disappointing.

App firstly tells that it doesn’t collect data but sneakily try to get testing permission on the first i consent button hiding it down under the aadhar consent and doesn’t even give option to opt out of testing. It collects not app data but also device parameters. It is okay you want to collect data for betterment of app but at least be honest about it rather than being tricky and give options.

Every step needs an OTP and then after 2-3 steps it will say “technical error” won’t let you move forward with anything. Totally useless. Who is making this app? And how is it functioning. Every time, I login and select Go to my Aadhaar option, app shows my Aadhaar details and then freezes. It doesn’t allow me to select any option. After the ios got updated to 17 this app seems to have a mind of its own and just deletes my profile from this device after showing that this Aadhaar no is registered with some other device. Moreover, whenever I try to retrieve my profile through website it keeps showing me internal server problem messages.
For an essential service in today’s life it’s very frustrating and pathetic to face such issue on a daily basis.

I unfortunately downloaded this app and locked my biometrics. Seemed fine for a few weeks till it locked me out. Since we have an Aadhaar based attendance system at work now it has become impossible to punch in. The app shows errors like “this Aadhaar number is registered to another mobile device” when this is the only device I’ve authenticated. It just locks me out of my profile and every time I try to log in or get an OTP it displays “technical error” and hangs. For those looking to lock their biometrics with this app, just don’t do it!

I generally never write reviews on app. I’m writing this because i got frustrated on using this app. Most of the times app will make us logged out and each time we need to enter credentials to login. Entering credentials is also fine but most of the times we wont receive otp , eventhough if we receive and input the otp it will throw an error like bad request. Please try again later. So horrible is this app that it induces doubts that Adhaar is probably compromised. I have been trying to register and it keeps throwing me out. Adding to my worries, the message I get is this:
“ This profile is registered with another mobile device. Please register again in this device if you want to avail profile services in this device.”
So I am not concerned that my details are compromised, I hope not!!!

At one time I had registered with my registered mobile number on this app. However, while trying to lock profile, the app rejected the mobile number and asked to re-register on the app. But haven’t been able to re register. Sometimes the OTP is not sent. Sometimes the OTP is not verified, if both works, then after putting in Aadhar number captcha and new OTP, it says ‘something went wrong’! Happened again and again. Even after deleting and reinstalling the App!

Misleading declaration regarding data collection

On the App Store listing page, it’s mentioned that the developer does not collect any data. However, once you download the app, you are presented with a screen to give your consent to let the developer collect unexplained type of data related to device also. I can understand that the app needs Aadhar number to provide the intended services but what that consent screen says is that this is a “Test Program” and the tech teams will also collect additional data of device and other parameters. If this is a test program or beta app then this fact should have been mentioned on listing page itself. Why mislead people? Don’t know if Apple has also been misled to allow this app in the App Store by giving false declaration.

Doesn’t matter how much taxes we may pay, but we’re never able to use basic services.
This app always returns with “technical exception” or “please try again later” errors, no matter what we do, that is, if you’re lucky enough for the OTP to even arrive.
And we hear all these hackers get in somehow so easily, but not the original Aadhar holder. How hypocritical. All these “security” is eye-wash, we all know they rarely work. This is actually very frightening as a normal citizen who has got so much to lose…

They collect 50 rupees for pvc card and after we complet the payment they will give a useless SRN number. If we try to track the card we need to give that number and it will not show the dispatched status and date either they will give all useless information and if call them they will ask for the same number and if we enter it says like the number is invalid. Unable to use, cause when you open the app it keeps loading

Once you open my aadhar app, the home screen keeps loading. If you uninstall, then re-install, and then when you login in, all data will be erased and you have to enter all details again, so the whatever aadhar details or even if you add many aadhar number, they all goes away when u reinstall. Initially for 3 months it was working good. Now it is of no use. If the developers are seeing this review, try to resolve or this app is of no use. Thankyou for your service till now.

Post downloading the app in iPhone 14, it never worked. After few seconds it says something went wrong. Please try after sometime. But whenever I tried, it shows the same. Even after deleting the app, tried with a fresh download. But it shows same message. Seems there’s compatibility issue with apple latest ios version or something else.

For starters the app makers just don’t get the enormity of usage of this app. Aadhar is massive the id system for worlds largest democracy. And this app is utterly poorly made. It has these flaws
1. Bad UX design, every screen triggers and asks for OTP. Ended up entering around the 12 OTPs. Clearly app makers don’t understand that this is annoying. OTP authentication just once while login should be enough.
2. Most of the features don’t work in the app.

No use of app..I tried many times finding center for updating my information but first it’s lagging too much and second it shows 0 center in my city however if I find it on Google directly I can see many centers but there was one center near my home so I was looking for it whether it is still available or not..totally useless app can’t even book appointment easily..just kick your useless developers

I wanted to check my aadhar update status. After entering urn and date-time, I entered the correct 4 digit numerical captcha and still it says incorrect captch. I tried it multiple times but it failed. In the feedback
Section of the app, I tried to enter all this details to share feedback but no matter what you write it says internal server error. Looks like aadhar developers dont want us to provide their feedback too.

Data correction like changing mobile number or email address take more than seven days still I am waiting it should be done maximum in 24 hours so slow system people are waiting I send them 10 Emails but they never tell when they will update in system I am waiting but nothing happens. The auto translation in to Tamil is not correct and exact to the literal. It is funny. Other wise the input also allowed in the local language in addition to the English input data . So that no confusion will occur.

I have updated my photo at the enrolment centre after 10 days I tried to check through website it’s showing error don’t know why? Later I visited to the centre this people don’t even have manners to speak, i told to one lady I guess she was the lead of that centre that I can’t able to check online can you please check and tell me or shall I update once again. She was shouting and she was rudely saying a go. Later I tried in this app to check again. This is showing captica is wrong i can upload screenshot to.

I mean I already knew the app was going to be bad. But this BAD! The level of bull crap the government of our country is able to pull on the citizens is amazing. I mean for God’s sake this is the most advertised id that the government is literally forcing everyone to get. Crores of tax money has been pumped into it and the government has the guts to launch and RUN! a 1 star rated app for a country of a billion people. I needed my aadhar card and my father’s aadhar card urgently at bank for some official work, and this app / server decided to crash at the same moment. My work was delayed again for a week and I didn’t have that much time. I also tried the Web version and it was also down completely.. Please use the money properly and get a good server for the service and stop fuc*** corruption and procrastination..

This appnis absolutely useless. OTP is required for every action. You cant even show this to government authorities to prove your identity as they dont accept this app. I tried using it in passport seva kendra when they asked me to prove adhaar validity. I opened the app and they rejected saying a printout is required🤣🤣🤣🤣. What is the use of government investment in such apps then ? Then i downloaded the adhaar from same app and went to them again. They again rejected saying there is no digitat signature, though it has a valud VID ✍️ 😅😅😅😅. Finally i had to GO download Eaadhaar and get the validation done to take to PSK. No use of digital innovation at all. Digital india kee jay.

This is the most useless app i have experienced. It’s only good to download your aadhaar card. Nothing else. Firstly the tech issues, it it goes through that and you’re able to apply for address update or something else by paying the relevant fees, it never updates. I made a request in mid November 22 and still on 14 Feb 23 it’s still in progress. That too when the time limit for that was 30 days. Nothing other that downloading your aadhaar card is done on this app. That’s y 1 star. Rest all is not working. At least for me.

Worst app used till yet. Not able to update address I already paid 50 rs twice and now the app showing techical error always, even after trying from last 3 months continuously. Even trying to submit feed back internally and guess what its showing internal server error. I hope its not my phone problem as using latest version of iPhone 16.3 version in 14 pro and already reinstalled this app thrice

Aadhar, Pan etc, are all services open/available to NRIs, however the apps can’t be downloaded unless your Apple ID is set to India.
Other issues in the app are also that the error messages are not clear, it only says something went wrong, (without telling us what) only working if you do things in exactly the right way by guessing what that is. Why not show the requirements for the fields?
The captcha doesn't seem to work on some screens! Why?!
Please add more countries where this app will be available.
The review process might have a few extra steps for some countries, but it will make the app usable.
I’ve changed my Apple ID temporarily to India to download the app and write this review, however anyone with any subscription or balance in their account cannot switch.

Download app, provide mobile number to get OTP & enter it to register number. Provide Aadhar number, enter OTP once received on registered number, all set to go for paperless ID proof. I wish there were options to rate zero or negative. This app has gone below all levels of pathetic performance. Even least experienced app developer can at least build a working one but those responsible for this app should be honoured with crown of wasting tax payers money for their monumental failure in building this app.
API calls for captcha generation are failing and one cannot perform a single operation using this app.
Please don’t waste taxpayers money anymore and simply dump this app forever.

I have been using this app from about couple of months and everytime I wanted to make any changes or download Aadhar, it simply shows an error message as, “We are sorry, server can’t be reached at this time please try after sometime”. I would like to question the developers here, when will that sometime comes? I have waiting for a while day to download but every 30mins the same error message was popping up, hence came to a conclusion that developers didn’t bother to rectify the error and causing inconvenience to its users. The 1 start for this app is also for the interface rather than performance, if I could have give minus stars then this app will get -10 for performance.

It’s been over 100 days that I been following up online, call and seva kendras to sort out the issue of not being able to receive authentication otp to use Aadhaar services through mAadhaar app and every time they are closing the case online saying it’s corrected but my issue remains. As for the services at Kendra, they are like I need to sort this out online only. Now finally I am asked to go to banglore if problem persists. I from a small town in the southern part of Kerala. What a pathetic service.

This app is with good features but they don’t work reliably. One of the family member will be replaced by other person. One point of time, all members will be replaced by a single person with out any reason by itself when we select each person. Needs lot of improvement. These days UIDAI apps and websites do not work as expected. Something wrong. No OTP comes, server error, technical error, this service not available at this time etc are very common error messages with UIDAI.

After 100 of tries i some how succeeded in raising request for address change and now its been a month and still it is in progress. I don't know if government officials at least using this app to see the requests. Not sure some children’s developed this app for time pass

I made the Payment for Re-print of my Aadhar card and then noticed it has sent 1 SMS to two numbers Msg Text: UPI*******************
And now it’s been 4-5 hours, I tried to check the status of my re-print request. It shows me details incorrect. And I cross checked 10+ times. Tried many timed but it always shows this SRN/Aadhar Card No Records Found.
Please help me if this is an official app or not. Because, sending sms to 2 numbers, not showing status looks spam/fraud to me.

The interface is good and it’s very user friendly however most of the features don’t work smoothly. I had to try multiple times in order to link my and my family aadhaar cards in this app.
Another feedback is regarding status check of requests. For example, I submitted a reprint request for my aadhaar but now when I want to check the status, it asks me to enter the aadhaar and SIN number and other details again which I had already submitted while raising the request. It should be visible in the history without having need to enter all details again. Please consider this in next update.
Giving one star now but will review it periodically and change the rating if there is any change in the performance and features.

The app designed to have family members aadhar in only 1 mobile device. Say, my family has 4 member, i would like to add all 4 in one place where spouse also would like to add family members to show wherever required. what is the harm to give at-least 2 device provisions ? Why do you want to make an app which does not work! Every time I m trying to register my Aadhar the app has 3 different excuses for not sending the OTP. Just so you know I have a registered mobile number and stable internet connections. And yes I have re downloaded this app a multiple times hoping this would work. I have tried every possible way to make this work. And during this time I really want the app to work so that I can travel and go to my hometown!

I think the development company making fool of Indian government. Every time I use the app for OTP validation it says server error / server not responding. Dumbest app ever I use. Not sure how IOS is going to treat this. If seems wrong can check other reviews. Shame on development company. Not at all useful.
After the developer reply again I tried checking my bank account link with Aadhar. Same issue is persisting after entering the OTP it says server problem, please try after sometime. What do you say now ?? Again internet issue ? Come one!!

I am surprised that some people have rated this app as bad and say that it not functioning properly. They are wrong. I downloaded this today. It works very well.
People should read and learn to use the app.
This app requires you to first register your Aadhar number in the app. Once this is done, all other modules also work properly.
The app works well. And the interface is good.
