When I switched to Airtel, I got a message that this app is on offer for me. But after installing, I got only 2 channels. Channels which nobody watches even if free. Also it keeps on sending notifications. Other apps like hotstar, prime video are way better. This app is not worth installing for the content it provides for it’s price. Also for the amount of personal usage data it monitors through this app. STAY AWAY
Once it crashes, then it keeps crashing after every minute or so !
The Airtel Tv app WAS a actual “Live Tv” app with some options to also watch OTT content. Later on it became an OTT app with also a good catalogue of “Live TV” options.
Now it’s just an app with a bucket load of paywalls. In other words a market place for OTT subscriptions, with very average UI and nothing else.
Sad really, to see the demise of a really good app which is turning into a waste of real-estate on your phone.

Earlier it was a really good app and with Airtel fiber connection you were able to watch live tv.
Now it’s just a useless app with no tv and for each and every channel you need to pay. God knows why Airtel decided to add Shemroo, eros now and other useless channels to this app.

You are loosing customers day by day but still you’re not bringing back all live tv channels and other contents on your app. Using JIO is much better and everyone else would also stop using airtel and switch to JIO making your company go out of service. 😂

Making customers fool ,i purchased full year subscription in 499 rs but only after a few two or three months its asking for a new subscription. All though no records of my purchased subscription is available on the app or the web site . More over one very unsatisfactory fact that there is no customer care phone line or live chat etc on this app . Just keep on doing emails and keep waiting for response.

Post paid plan shows Airtel Xtreme Premium is free, but there is hardly anything that is free, it shows Eros Now, Ultra and Shemaro and other apps which asks for subscription. People can directly down the respective apps and pay subscription, why do need to go through Airtel Xtreme App.
Now we can stream any channel like sony six etc … jio tv is already having it.. even though i have premium
I remember earlier version had option to watch live tv channels but now that option is not available. Other competitors like tata sky and jio tv have that option. You might loose to competitors if live tv option is not added. If this option is available, make it user friendly so that we can see on Home Screen of the app.
Update - received developer response saying they have great list of channels. My question is that is there any free content available for Airtel DTH users? Channels available are paid, so what’s the use of being Airtel DTH subscriber??
As soon as they removed my fav shows like super girl, arrow, etc. I knew I no longer had anything to do with this app.
No live tv either (except for a bunch of zee stuff).
For live tv I go to jiotv and for tv shows I have Amazon prime which now has the shows Airtel removed.
Also, I am curious why this app always tries to open in portrait mode regardless of my device orientation!
By the way, as an app, this is as good as any other OTT app I guess. My review is just meant to indicate what I expected from the app and why I don’t really use this anymore.
Extremely poor user experience! Airtel is probably a fine example of a typical Desi Company. Locally developed low quality, “chalu” app. No vision of quality or service.

This used to be a premium tv app with almost every major channel available on the go. But lately it has become so poor especially if you compare it to the jio tv app. I am an Airtel premium customer with Airtel Black Plan but still I prefer jio tv app in case I want to watch live tv. There are no sports channels & even premium GECs are not available anymore.
It even asks for subscription to watch Eros Now shows & movies which is available for free on jio cinema
Why have you removed live channels and all ? Is it the way to treat the customers with premium ? Nonsense content now No use of the app anymore

Recently opted to Airtel Xstream Dth, I used to be with other provider were my parents used to watch live tv in app. While Xstream fiber were installing, people(Technician) advised to take Airtel Xstream box for free and they said they do support the same live tv over the app. So, i moved to Airtel yesterday and now I don’t see live tv option. If this option taken out weeks ago, why don’t you train your technicians or support regarding this?

Try to search Zee TV in search tab, then further in the results you will see the Live Channels (40) from that you can look for the channel you want watch and enjoy being live😊 till it get fixed😉

I really used to love this app because of Live TV and all new content but lately Ten Sports channels are missing with other many channels. I can’t able to watch TV so I use this app frequently but this latest change has been terrible. When will the Ten Sports channels with many others come back?
Blessing tv channel doesn’t show in the list sometimes. But when I try reset my account using top then I can view. When the channel is missing in the list, total number of Tamil channels are 41. When I can view it, it shows 42.

This is what happens marketing gets priority over engineering. You are trying to push a mediocre app at best, with “superb content in 4K”. What’s the point if you can’t enjoy all those marvellous creations of art
I don’t who is to blame here: Hindi content pushers or stupid backend operations team.
You select “English” shows, it lists some shows, you start playing it for a while. Everything is OK so far. But if you leave it for anything, it will resume (at least that is working) using Hindi audio.
Not everything is perfect, some mishaps can happen. So you search in the settings to change the audio, this genius app don’t have it, believing in their superior app/website functionality.
If I wanted a particular language, I would have selected that particular language when I searched for the content.
What really drives me mad is : it is able to play in the selected language till you pause and resume.
It’s a basic functionality, have you done a decent testing, before increasing the content. Instead of trying to chase numbers, try to have quality apps. People recognises and awards good and “working” apps
I have only 1 query that I am using Xstream setup box and also same app on mobile but why their is difference between the content in both
Means the movies which are available on app are not in setup box also why don’t you update the content of setup box since past 4 months I have found no change in movie’s category

Airtel mobile internet is pathetic, but the wifi runs well,
They claim to shift connection of wifi (within the city) within a day but today its been 7 days i haven’t received any response and even after continuous follow up on the toll free number, they just escalate the matter and god knows where the escalation reaches.
So for 4 days i am with technically with no internet as the mobile data is useless.
And they claim to have the fastest mobile internet,
But ya they are moving towards 0 customer complaints as customers are unable to reach then to complaint, one day they will have no customers as well so they will reach their goal of 0 customer complaint.
Airtel xstream shows are removed while lockdown what kind of service is this as compair to airtel other are adding the shows and this aap removing it and. all i notice is fake service because i call to complaint but they are just saying that they will work on my complaint and so i dont pay the bill they are now calling me like 20 times a day for bill but they are not talking about service my feed back only about bill. Network is not good enough .when i call to complaint then that reciver are laughing and saying that we will work on your complaint and put me on hold and cut the call when this happen like three times .think how they are serious about work and i am goin to file case on airtel after lock down for fake advertise not giving good service
Add chromecast feature so the user can enjoy the content over a larger screen which will enhance the user experience as all the video streaming app provides this feature.
Notifications for the episodes of the favourite series as the release is also to be implemented.
I was watching third season of The Flash and then it suddenly stopped playing. I restart the app but the web series disappeared from the app. I also searched for it but it showed other content instead of the flash. Please fix this problem. Otherwise it is a great app but due to this issue I am rating it 3 stars instead of five.
Hi I have a question is The Vampire Diaries no longer there on Airtel Xstream if it’s not can you plz add it. FRIENDS also as I understand is no longer there. If not FRIENDS please add The Vampire Diaries atleast. Also when u search for a show or movie which is already there on the App it doesn’t come .
App as an aggregator does a decent job. Sometimes has streaming issues, unresponsive episodes. It would be great if you include some profiles so that people can come back and watch certain things from the minute they left.
Of course landscape orientation for iPad seems to be missing. And yeah if casting the screen is an option it would be very convenient just to cast across larger screen and enjoy the content
Worst watching experience as they cannot even provide a feature for changing the video quality you’re playing content. It’s such a basic feature which is missing.

Live content is of no use as its not working. Whenever i try to watch champions leagues matches on ten sports it automatically shifts the content to some other content like WWE or some non live matches. Yesterday i tried and after 10 seconds it shifted the match from 83mins to 59 mins and the app is telling that its a live content. Foolish app had to pay Sony Liv to watch matches. Its of no use its really pathetic and its happening mostly in HD. Thinking to port to JIO as it has wide range of channels e.g star sports channels and live content is actually live.
Application is corrupted. There are unresolved issues in this app. I have a wifi connection with 100mbps connection and only i use it, still there are buffering issue with this app, there are 2 in 10 chances that i can see some movie or something and if by chance i stop in between i have to close the app 10 times and then rarely it works, earlier version worked good but now after update it has corrupted do not download it and then when i report the issue they only ask for screenshots and does nothing except a reply saying “check your internet connection”
I am really happy to see that Airtel TV has matured so much at such a good pace and would definitely like to see it grow both in terms of content and quality of app.
Don’t have anything thing against the app at the moment but, would definitely like to request support for steaming the content of app to chrome cast and Apple Play. Like all the other major steaming players.

4. HD channels are playing in low quality even though it is set for high quality and internet is also fast
5. While playing watching it shows the list of all channels it should show the selected category ex if I have selected English comedy so it should show suggestions of English comedy.
6. Add skip intro like Netflix
7. If possible add volume boost
8. Allow split screen access
9. Add download button or record button so we can avoid buffering but it should be app only to prevent piracy like Udemy

11. Add peek to preview like Netflix

14. Add watched videos removal is not working properly

16. In help and support it is showing alert to set up an email account but it is already set in profile

18. If we click zoom/full screen view from horizontal view it is not working
19. Showing retry/dead/unresponsive screen while watching live content ex. If you are watching some movie at 1:00 pm and playing content of 12:30 pm when it reach 1:00 pm it shows this error
It’s a good app but few basic features are missing which is not making this app best. Below are the 2
1. Casting feature: This is the main feature which is missing. We are calling this a TV app but if you can’t cast on TV then no use.
2. Favourites Folder missing: Everytime you can’t go & select your favourite tv channel or program. There should be favourite folder in which you can save those channels, programs or play list.
I use airtel tv app on iphone 7 and i have noticed that whenever im using the airtel tv application my mobile starts heating up “like a lot” and also there is huge drop in battery for every halh hour of usage (once i noticed the battery came down by 10% in half hour while watching big bang theory on the tv app) this is a big minus point for me and one of the reasons i switched to other broadcasting applications.
Why we are unable to watch the recent time show means current timing is on air but we forget to watch when we remembered that hv to watch that show nd we go on air after the episode passed nd tap on recent time episode jst before which is going live the new one but we can’t see.
I jst want to say that update with the fixed version with which we can watch the recent episode of any serial in any channel(colors)
Once I have played a movie and if I take a break in middle of a movie for 5-6 mins and then if I wanna continue the movie then I can’t play neither from that point I left nor from the beginning. And that’s the worst part because I have invested an hour or so just to get introduced to all characters and now nothing I cannot know about the story.
And it’s necessary to take a break in middle of the movie, so that kinda takes the whole fun out of the great service which you guys are providing(I mean it best service) but it gets frustrating if you can’t watch the whole movie.
Please fix the problem asap!

Other contemporary apps have both landscape and portrait mode at every stage in app. The problem in Airtel app is that it force user to change the tablet (in my case iPad) to portrait mode when the open Airtel app on ipad.
Other thing is that there should be subtitles for movies also.

The worst app ever in the AppStore this app should not exist the developers are freaks because they have made an app like this after giving a hell lot of internet it starts to buffer and buffer and buffer ................ and so on many people have complained regarding this but have some same reply which they give to everyone’s feedback

Ok, what happened? I had been watching TBBT and Friends in this app and since yesterday, all of its english content is gone? I have reinstalled and tried everything but still no english content? Your customer care is worthless. They have no idea about it. They said they are unaware of any recent changes? Who are we suppose to call now????

Yes, as the title says content is awesome. However recently I started facing so many issues with HOOQ content and I had to reinstall the app each time there is an issue because apparently there is no other solution. If you’ve invested so much on content kindly do the same for app development as well. No subtitles that’s still manageable however the English shows like Flash and Arrow show up only sometimes. Do you have the collaboration with HOOQ or not???

The app has a plethora of good sources to provide us with entertainment and this is something that people like me all over India would require. Hats off to this aspect!
Now to sum up the disappointing part, is the subtitles. The quality of video might be stupefying but no one would disagree to the fact that the experience of watching a TV Series/ Movie with subtitles is the best feeling, ever. I have faced continued problems with subtitles. For example, until last month I used to get complete subtitles but in Indonesian. I mean seriously? And then I tried the usual Restart/ Reset/ Delete method to get the subtitles. And I felt like I had achieved something. But you wouldn’t believe how long this lasted. 15 whole seconds! And now I get to enjoy content for 15 seconds every time I use the app. Later I’ve to just compromise with subtitles for quality.
Please resolve this issue ASAP. Just for the records, your app has the potential to become, literally, as good as, and dare I say, better than Netflix.
I am a premium account holder. During Ind vs Aus series, when i open Star channels, it directs me to Hotstar Live and then i get an error message stating program not available. Anytime apart from live matches, able to see the channel. Really frustrating...You guys claim to be the fastest network in India based on some paid tests. Guess u need to look at how Jio TV operates. Even in few of the Sony channels, there is a lag during live telecast of matches where in it runs smooth via Sony Liv app. Hoped for a much better performance and really disappointed in Airtel TV. Looks like its just another tick of box kind service provided to the subscribers just bcoz another network provides live TV
I have been using this app of urs since last few weeks , content that you are offering is amazing i can find all the shows and movies that i feel i want to watch but the only issue that i am facing is that is drain a lot of my phone battery and alot make it hot.
Currently i am using iPhone 8 plus i watched a single episode of 19 minutes and it drained by battery from 45% to 20% . Also what i feel is that your app is bit slow

Using Airtel TV since 6 months now, Very Happy with Contents but app need some improvements like the other apps in the market like subtitles should be there also which episodes you have watched app need to show you that..
If you set playing video to high quality it gives so much better experience unlike any other i have seen....

Its not only app but its more like whole thing. Trust me airtel brand has never been Praise worthy . Prior 4G they have obly looted customers in the wake of fastest network and provided average quality service. Not only in india airtel is not more than average telecom provider any where else too. Airtel tv is nithing more than 3 rd class app.
Content provided in the app seems good but the quality of the application is miserable. My iPhone 8 Plus starts heating up and battery starts draining like hell. My phone runs so many performance demanding games without hearing up or draining the battery too much. What is the app doing that needs so much CPU consumption? Feels like the app was developed by some mediocre service based company and not by professionals.
Regardless of the quality or the quantity of content you guys put up there, if the performance of the app is bad, no one will use the app for long. Focus on optimising the app if you actually want people to use it.
Ive recently switched to Airtel, the sim is activated , recharge is done , my airtel,wynk app works but the most important AIRTEL TV App doesnt work even when ive ios device and app is up to date , when i click on LIVE TV it just says SWITCH TO AIRTEL , it is only for airtel users , i don’t understand why Airtel is not giving me the live tv feature. And all the movies and videos are locked .and when i have registered my email and mobile nunber with airtel it still replies on my email that your email and mobile number is not registered with us, but ive registered it for more than 7-8 tikes as they asked me to do on the message. If this is what AIRTEL is , im switching in to Vodafone or Jio .
The content provided though limited is good like the show humans, but the UI you are using is outdated for instance if I see a episode and come back it starts from the beginning of the season and not even that episode which I was last watching , making me think am I using the version which used to come out in the year 2011. Then manually I have to go and keep it from where I was watching which many a times I have no clue about . This makes this app outdated to other competitor apps . I would have uninstalled this but then some of the content has made me stay back. Would appreciate if the developer rather than giving an automated reply fixes this in the app.
Dear Devs, thank you so much for updating the app with new features. Here are some things that might help you help us.
1. When I click on a series, it automatically starts from season1 episode 1. Can you please remove this feature
2. The “continue watching” is a really good feature, but on clicking the video, it goes to season 1 episode 1 again. Can you please fix this
3. Also can you please create an option where we don’t have to toggle the video quality every time we open a new video.
I really like the content I got but totally upset with the quality and performance of the application. I am using iPhone and never seen an app that drains my battery like this. Other major problem is overheating of the device. The same problem goes with app designed for iPad too.
It is such a shame for a application with such good content. What make it even worse is , there are lot of review and comments for the same problem but seems like airtel is good at ignoring them. I would love to use the app but not at the cost of my device.

4. Recently watched video always takes u to the 1st video of the series even if u are on the 20th episode and that is on the recently watched list and u click on that but it will direct u to the 1st video of the lot
You guys really have to step up your UI and UX game. The interface is amateur at best. Your thumbnail images are stretched and warped. There’s no “Continue watching” feature where I can pick up a series where I left off. It exists for individual episodes but for serials, I have to go back to the serial, change the season and select the episode. I can’t even stream most of the stuff on Chromecast or anything else. What the hell! Learn something from Netflix. You guys have a lot of potential but you’re not using it.
The device I use is an iPad Pro 10.5. Given its big battery and extremely efficient processor, the app does not function properly, after a mere 30 minute usage I notice a 10% drop in the battery and the lower half of the iPad starts heating even in a cool environment.
This not good, as in the long run it can really harm the device’s battery life, even when charging, my iPad can barely charge when the app is running. I would like if Airtel fixes this issue immediately.
I am fond of Tv shows and everyday i used to watch 2 shows but lately after I updated this app my Tv shows are not loading it takes a lot of a time to load ( I don’t know the exact because after sometime i get frustrate and close the app ). Please, restore the old version or tell me how can i do it on my device. Before the latest update i would have given 5 stars happily but due to frustration not giving it now.
I love the app but the previous version was better than the new update for a few things. In the previous version every content used to show the air date when it was released on airtel tv app instead of showing the duration of the content. We can see the duration by playing the content so can you please make it right back again.
I have been using Airtel Tv App since last few days and I love the content it is giving me. All the shows I want to watch are on it both English and Hindi. Things that make me mad about the app are, whenever I use the app it drains my iphone battery very quickly (currently using iPhone7) and it automatically changes from low quality to HD whether I have chosen to low quality or not. If my phone is at 100% after watching a 1 hour episode my phone will drain to 60-65% and also heat up my phone. I have used other tv app also for hours but they do not drain the battery that quick. Since I loved airtel tv app, I’m writing this review. Please fix the app and make it more compatible. Airtel user from a very long time, hoping a response.
Update: This app is a giant battery hog on iOS and causes the devices to get hot. And the interface is laggy.
To begin with, Airtel TV has a very nice selection of TV shows and Movies. In fact, many shows that are not normally available in India can be found on Airtel TV.
Unfortunately, the app is pathetic. There is no support for Chromecast and/or Apple TV. This is especially bad since the website says it is supposed to be Chromecast ready. To make matters worse, trying to mirror the screen to TV causes the app to stop playing - forcing me to watch content only on my mobile or iPad.
Please pull your act together and make Chromecast and Apple TV support available. In fact, a standalone Apple TV app will be highly appreciated.
Also, the interface could be much better.
Had it not been for the lack of Chromecast/Apple TV support, I’d have gladly rated the app 4 star.
This app is very beneficial to airtel users. As i am using airtel broadband i have got unlimited access to it and collection of movies and videos is par excellent. Major advantage is that you can watch DC serials like FLASH, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW etc. free of cost but it lags far behind schedule broadcasting of same. It has been a day hooq has listed 10th episode of SUPERGIRL but it is yet to be listed on Airtel TV. Airtel team must work on this as it will give boost to the app otherwise 5 star app

I would like to start by saying great job with the app and content offering.. keep up the great work!
I would like to suggest some things to elevate the customer experience of your app and help in garnering more brand loyalty, some of the recommendations are:
1) Your older versions had streaming to Chromecast, please get that back asap. This helps in specially when you would like to consume a content with the entire family together.
2) Create “add to Watch List” in app so that users can create their own content library of programs & movies they like rather than browsing for each content.
3) update app to support iPhone X screen size.
I have also emailed these suggestions to the support team.
I was watching Friends and in just one episode (around 22 mins) the battery came down from 100 to 55 and my phone had become unbelievably hot. Got scared and had to exit the app. Moreover I’m using an 8 plus with A11. How much processing power it might take I wonder 🤔. Why can’t you takes cue from the likes of Netflix, Prime video etc??
Note for developer: Saw your responses to other comments, don’t ask me to use “contact us” again. Instead of responding to comments, use that time to make the app better.
Content is pretty good! But when you choose the language as English in the dropdown in airtel live TV and select the channel for example Discovery Channel the language of the audio is actually Hindi and not English.
So, technically it should be moved to the Hindi section if the audio is not in English. That was disappointing for me because I personally prefer English for the content that's originally created in English.
The collection of movies and TV shows is definitely quite good especially for the price. However the app itself is quite slow and buggy.
Firstly, when streaming any video it drains your battery faster than even the most demanding games.
Secondly, the interface itself is not very smooth or polished and it doesn't remember your watch history reliably so that you can easily resume watching where you left off.
Lastly, the connection and video playing is also not very reliable especially for the HOOQ content.
