The singer’s Tamil soundtracks mix Indipop and Carnatic magic

Sid Sriram transports listeners to faraway places in just a few notes. His soothing, sinuous vocals shine in a wealth of Tamil soundtracks, and collaborations with celebrated music directors such as A. R. Rahman. The latter composed the romantic Indian pop ballad “Ennodu Nee Irundhaal”, which won Sriram his first Filmfare Award South for Best Playback Singer. The artist also explores blues and gospel in “Adiye”, Carnatic influences, and lyrical duets with stars like Shreya Ghoshal. In 2020 Sriram also stood out as a composer, offering an R&B-meets-ambient soundtrack for drama Vaanam Kottattum.
