Classics from the legendary Indian music director’s canon

Music composer and vocalist A. R. Rahman is an icon of the Indian music and film industry: he has been featured on Time magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people, won two Oscars and received the Padma Bhushan award in 2010 from the Indian government. In his work, Rahman integrates Indian classical and folk with modern pop, funk and electronic music, a blend reflected in Hindi tracks like Sukhwinder Singh’s “Chaiyya Chaiyya” and his own R&B-inflected “Rehna Tu”. Meanwhile, “Nadaan Parinde” reveals his knack for epic stadium-rock anthems.
