Bounce along to Boys—a brazen, young-at-heart soundtrack from A. R. Rahman

A. R. Rahman’s collaboration with filmmaker Shankar has produced several great soundtracks, including Indian, Jeans and Sivaji. While Shankar is best known as a pioneer of Tamil vigilante movies, in 2003 he took a risk to make Boys, a musical about five slacker college friends who form a boy band. Who better than Rahman to create a medley targeting a young audience? Boasting catchy melodies, cheeky lyrics and English song titles like “Boom Boom”, “Girl Friend” and “Dating”, Rahman’s upbeat score strikes a chord with both young and old.
