More songs with the energy of smash hit “I Love It”

The formula that made Icona Pop's ubiquitous single “I Love It” (feat. Charli XCX) such a smash—charging energy, undeniable electro-house beats, and defiant lyrics shouted in unison by Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo—dominates the vast majority of This Is… Icona Pop. The album's first seven songs don’t let up, including hard-partying tracks like “All Night,” “We Got the World,” and “Ready for the Weekend." “Girlfriend,” an upbeat ode to female friendship, appropriates the chorus of Tupac’s “Me and My Girlfriend” (“All I need in this life of sin / is me and my girlfriend”) to cheerful effect. And while the pace slows a bit for the genuinely affecting “Just Another Night” and the troubled-relationship track “Hold On,” the album ends on its strongest note with the winningly romantic indie pop of “Then We Kiss."
