These Mexican rockers take their sound into the trippiest reaches of outer space

Dominating the world of rock en español with their fuzzed-out guitars and cerebral melodies, Zoé's songs always make us feel like we're leaving Earth's atmosphere, and Reptilectric is this five-piece's most gorgeously psychedelic album to date. The billowing synthesisers of "Nada" and the multi-layered vocals on the hazy "Poli" build a kaleidoscopic feel. The thumping rhythm and grinding guitar riffs of "Neandertal" have an earthier appeal, while the chaotic closer, "Babilonia", mixes churchy harmonies with buzzing keyboard riffs and a disorienting start-stop rhythm.
