The jazz-pop virtuoso’s lyrical horn is superbly chronicled on this retrospective

The saxophonist’s third greatest-hits collection, Ultimate Kenny G further charts his reign as jazz-pop’s preeminent instrumentalist throughout the ’80s and ’90s. In addition to many of his signature originals, including the lush ballads “Silhouette” and “Songbird”, the set spotlights several duets and covers. The Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto and Kenny G playfully dance around each other on an intoxicating rendition of “The Girl from Ipanema”. He also tackles “My Heart Will Go On”, transforming the passionate love theme from Titanic into a showcase for his inimitable horn style.
