Early fans of Junior H and his signature brand of sad-boy corridos will recall Mi Vida En Un Cigarro, a nine-song introduction to the young singer. Since then, he’s gone on to become one of the brightest stars in his burgeoning corner of contemporary música mexicana alongside others within and beyond the Rancho Humilde sphere of influence. For this welcome sequel to his debut, he presents 21 tracks, which more than doubles the length of its predecessor and is substantially longer than newer fan favourites Cruisin With Junior H and MUSICA. Though collaborations with Eslabon Armado on “Pa' Que Te Duela” and Luis R Conriquez on “Los Botones Azules” will no doubt excite devotees of the genre, Mi Vida En Un Cigarro 2 largely showcases him in solo mode, delivering future fan favourites like “Como Jordan” and “Esta Vida”.
