A revved-up punk statement oozing brash confidence

Emboldened by the success of Enema of the State, blink-182 ooze confidence on this boisterous effort. Each song is a bold, loud and brash nod to revved-up hardcore fury ("Online Songs"), spring-loaded punk snarls ("Reckless Abandon") or churning rock 'n' roll ("Shut Up"). Although occasional insecurities or regrets crop up, blink's lyrics generally take audacious stands. "Anthem, Pt. 2" attacks clueless adults who are ruining society for kids, while the dizzying "First Date" envisions hitting it off with a crush.
