This explosive thrash LP finds the band in excellent synergy

One of their fastest, grungiest and most energetic releases, Metallica’s Death Magnetic shows the band in excellent synergy. The deceptively pretty polyphony of “The Day That Never Comes” recalls their ‘80s guitar duets but quickly explodes into a frenzy of heavy drumming and soaring riffs. “All Nightmare Long” and “The End of the Line” are classic thrash to their core; “Suicide & Redemption” puts guitarist Kirk Hammett’s magic on full display. Metallica try a few new tricks here but maintain the fury of their best records.
