Dance, romance and a little rock wrapped up in a slick mix

Raghu Dixit roars into the opening track of Toliprema with “Break the Rules”, a millennial anthem complete with sing-along chorus, shredded guitar and a bouncy veena line. S. Thaman’s soundtrack to the Telugu romcom is packed with similarly eclectic influences—feel-good grooves permeate the dance floor-ready “Sunona Sunaina” and a breezy, whistled melody line kicks off Shreya Ghoshal’s gentle pop confection “Allasani Vaari”. For sheer beauty and power, though, you don’t have to go any farther than gorgeous “Ninnila”, embellished by luxurious instrumentation and Armaan Malik’s lithe tenor.
