Well-known composer duo Laxmikant - Pyarelal team up with lyricist Javed Akhtar on Tezaab's thrilling 1988 soundtrack. "Ek Do Teen Char", the album's most popular song, turned singer Alka Yagnik into a breakout star, earning her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer the same year. The record's immense popularity was in part thanks to Yagnik, Amit Kumar and Nitin Mukesh's vocals on the wistful "So Gaya Yeh Jahan" and Anuradha Paudwal and Kumar’s romantic, dramatic and infectious duet, "Keh Do Ke Tum".
